The food is average at best. I was visiting that area and decided to get food for friends. Went to the restaurant and picked up the food. The Musto Musir tasted like garlic not shallots and had a odd flavor, thought the yogurt was bad. The chicken was not seasoned correctly, it was dry and the edges burned. The kobide and barg where not good, For someone that does not know Persian food it probably will not make a difference, for me it was not good Persian food.

Let’s start off with I love Persian food. Unilocal said this was the place to go so I went. Food was expensive… and just okay. I come from the Bay Area where the Persian food is excellent. Left a little disappointed.

I went here with my husband and another couple and got to try an array of dishes. the donner kabob plate was my favorite. I ordered a specialty dish and it tasted like Mexican food and I was not a fan. The shirazi salad was amazing as well as the eggplant appetizer. The service was awesome. We will be coming back.

Having grown up in Iran and lived in LA, I am picky with Iranian food. This place is legitimately good and authentic. Order the tadig for an appetizer. It is excellent.

This is our go-to Persian restaurant. The beef koobideh kabob is a sure bet. I like to have it with a side of salad Shirazi. Good portion sizes. Always fresh sabze greens to munch on along with the meal. My mom is vegetarian and never likes the food. Recommend only for omnivores.

Gem of a restaurant !! Best persian food, beats many good persian restaurants in the Bay Area. Authentic, clean and freshly prepared. Service is excellent too. Trout is amazing served with rice and portions are large without a hike in price. PORTIONSAREHUGE. I had leftovers from my plate for lunch next day. There is plenty quantity of food served in one order in one large tray sized plate. Hope to try their many other amazing dishes. LOVETHECOMPLIMENTARY — PITABREADWITHBUTTER, RICOTTACHEESEANDMINTLEAVES. Yumm!

I went there with some friends and we were not treated nicely. The hostess(owner??) tried to seat us in the back by the kitchen in an empty restaurant. Sorry, did not feel welcomed so we left.

Bland, skimpy, dry, unappealing… This place is the exact opposite of that. Whether you get the lamb shank, which melts in your mouth, or a chicken skewer, or a beef kabob, it will be meaty, tender, juicy and full of flavor. I’m not a rice guy. I order salad and no rice. But their rice is so good that I ate the coworker’s leftover rice. You can’t go wrong here. Service is decent, and they have some very interesting appetizers as well.

A small place in the back of a strip mall. Don’t miss out! From the outside, Shahrzad does not look like much. The staff is very friendly. They are very knowledgeable of the menu and extremely attentive. You feel at home. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. Now for the food. Immediately, you are given a hard cheese, herb and pita bread to snack on while searching for your dish. So many choices, I chose the Lamb Shish Kabob. Amazing! The lamb is mild and very flavorful from the marinade. I got it with rice and salad. The value, flavor and portion is definitely worth the price. You won’t go wrong. I ate a little and took the rest home for lunch the next day. It would also be big enough to share with someone special. Traveling from Los Angeles, where there is some of the best Persian food to choose from, I was very satisfied with the experience and will be back during future travels. Don’t pass it up… Enjoy!!!

I have gone a couple times to this restaurant, both times were pleasant experiences. Service is friendly and helpful. The waiter was always attentive and refilled our water as much as it was needed. The ambient was very enjoyable, it is a nice looking restaurant and really makes for a great eating experience. The food was top notch, I was specially fond of their lamb shank. It left me wanting more. The meat was very well cooked and the rice accompanying the dish was also very tasty. We also had the ice cream from their menu, it was a great way to finish our meal and I definitely recommend it. The only issues I had was the amount of food they served. You might have to get more than one plate to get full. The price isn’t really a problem but I just thought the portions weren’t as generous as they could be. Overall, it was a positive experience!

I really like their kebabs and rice. I have only gotten takeout so I cannot comment on the wait staff. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious. The downside is the fact that they constantly change menu prices. But hey, Im a fan so Im still going to go :)

Delicious! I wanted something light and typically go with salads but I got the thinly sliced chicken(Chicken Barg) with half rice and salad. It was so tender and juicy! The flavors were spot on. As a little appetizer I got the Musto Khiar. I probably would must go for the Must next time but the crunch from the cucumbers was nice. Note, huge portions! Can feed 2 easily. The ambiance was quite and very low key. Very nice waiters and waitresses. Will definitely return!

Beautiful décor and the restaurant is really spacious. There is a fountain outside of the restaurant which is nice for pictures. I ordered 3 dishes for a party of 5 and also had leftovers to bring home. Every food we ordered came with an order of rice. The lamb shank was really delicious. The meat falls right off the bone because it was cooked perfectly! The dish came out warm so eat it fast, and the sauce was really good. I can just drink it on its own, but instead I just pour it over my rice. I highly recommend ordering this dish. The second dish was a combination of one chicken skewer and one need skewer. The chicken was really tasty and juicy but the beef tasted like a sausage which is what I didn’t really enjoy too much. You must order the chicken! The last dish is a stew called Gheymeh Bodenjan. It consist of mainly egg plant with peas, onion, diced beef, and saffron tomato. I didn’t care for this stew because the egg plants tasted really bitter and weird. I didn’t like the flavor of it. There wasn’t a lot of diced beef which was the best part of the stew. I wouldn’t order this stew again. I would come back here to try out other dishes.

I’ve been here in the Sacramento area for 2 weeks now for a business trip and have been checking a lot of different restaurants and just saw the great reviews here on Unilocal so my friend and I decided to give it a try for lunch. We ordered the lamb shank based on the awesome reviews here on Unilocal and OMG I’m so glad we gave this place a try. The meat just falls right off the bone. It’s so soft and full of flavor. The rice is also amazing, I don’t know what they put on it but it’s some sort of drug because it’s so addicting! The serving is also great as it’s just perfect to satisfy you if you’re hungry. Not too small and not too big either. We also ordered the Persian ice cream which is made of Rose water, saffron and pistachios and my oh my I just saw angels singing in the background, it was absolutely delicious! I wish we have a Shahrzad in Socal because I would literally have lamb shanks every week if I can. Highly recommended place, and yes I would be back again. I can’t wait to try the other items on their menu.
