The Gun Authority

Great customer service and very beginner friendly. I came to The Gun Authority looking for a recommendation for a firearm to purchase for home defense and they answered all my questions on what type of firearm that would do that best. I did not purchase a firearm that day and they did not treat me any differently. I later came back with my wife and they were able to determine which firearm would best suit us based on stopping power and what was most comfortable with her.
Seeing that they offered basic gun training, I signed my wife and I to this class so we could get to know our firearm. K.C. was very helpful and knowledgeable with all our questions with a focus on gun safety, especially important for us as we have two children.
I will definitely come back here for my next firearm purchase and CCW classes.

I thought they had good customer service, but that might be because the place was pretty dead when I’ve gone. I was going to give them 5-​stars, but I had bought an item and was over-​charged without me knowing, I just assumed the item was a little more than I had expected and was just going to buy it here for the convenience and shop around later for a second item. I received a call within minutes as I drove away and was informed of the mistake, the representative offered to refund the difference or just order 2 of the items I had ordered for the price I had paid since they were on sale. I excitedly opted to get 2. I was told that one of the items was already on order and I could pick it up In a couple days. I was glad to see there are honest businesses still out there not just looking to make a quick buck, and was ready to give them my repeat business. Then I call a week later after never receiving a call about the first item, neither item had arrived, they were still on order. I left my number again and received a call a few days later that my items were finally in. I show up and was told by another cashier that the last guy had made a slight mistake and I owed them more money, instead of the 2 for 1 deal I was offered. I felt like I was being swindled, as if they saw I had paid more before and wanted to see if I’d pay more again, the price was back to being a little more than I expected so I opted for just 1. I don’t think I would have been as upset if they would’ve told me when they called to let me know my order was in, that I was misquoted the price, instead of having me show up and telling me I owe more and saying «it’s just a little off» when it nearly doubles what I had originally paid. This whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth and I’ll be shopping elsewhere from now on.

Took the CCW class. Was a great experience. KC did a fantastic job both with the in class portion as well as at the range. Learned some usefull tips from him as well. I will be doing more business with them for sure.

Great shop, great experience. I recently took a course and could not be happier. KC was a great instructor, very knowledgable and a pleasure to learn from. I learned a lot & will be using them for all other training classes. I highly recommend!

Great Staff and very knowledgeable of their product. I purchased my first AR-​15 from here. Dealing directly with the owner made this purchase a very smooth and easy transaction. I can tell they are very passionate about the firearms business. Im currently thinking about purchasing my first 1911 and a concealable for my wife from the Gun Authority.

I had a great overall experience at the gun authority. I came in to get my dad’s old 22 revolver worked on. The gun smith was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable, while there I was able to pick up some rare ammo that I had been looking for. I got my gun back in great shape in a very timely matter. I will be buying my next firearm there!

Excellent place to buy!
I looked around at several gun stores throughout the Sacramento area over the past 12 weeks. I was In search of the right home defense hand gun, when I came across the Gun Authority. I walked in and immediately received great customer service and assistance in choosing/​purchasing a firearm. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I knew right away that this was the place to buy. I did make my purchase here, it was a positive experience, and I look forward to doing business with them again.
