What a fuggin’ shame! This used to be a nice neighborhood grocery store(when it was an Albertson’s) until this greedy company came marching into town with their high prices. Now, I’ve read they filed for bankruptcy and are closing down all So. Cal stores. Good riddance! Sucks for the employees who will soon be out of a job because of these jokers!

I miss Albertson’s Monopoly game, the one with the scratch-offs! I’ve seen pictures of the Haggen stores in Washington and Oregon, they look like a Sprouts on steroids, when i walked into this place I was floored by the fact that this was just Albertsons with a new sign and employees with new name badges. For a company that touted themselves as competition to Sprouts, Whole Foods and Trader Joes, they haven’t done much to do away with all of the General Mills GMO junk that once littered the shelves of Albertsons. One of the good things about living in Southern California is the competitiveness of the grocery industry, if you aren’t on the ball you end up like Haggen. Hopefully they get it together.

This review is for the Starbucks inside the store. Best Starbucks around! Eva made me the best drink and provided excellent customer service. She is always friendly and goes out of her way to make sure my drink if perfect every time. She takes her time to get to know every customer and really makes you feel important. I will return because of her and her staff.

I don’t see how Haggen can be saved. Once you price yourself out of the market, people will not return. Haggen blamed it’s mistakes on it’s pricing? If I would have been running the chain, I would have worked 24 hours a day until the pricing was corrected. To be honest, this would have NEVER happened on my watch. Walmart, Von’s, Albertson’s and Smith’s are always checking the competition’s prices. These chain’s are adjusting prices every hour, of everyday. It’s called competition. As for Haggen, they assumed the consumer would not notice. Maybe Haggen can promote the stores as Ghost Towns?. In the end, the store associates are the victims in this Haggen mess.

It’s an overpriced albertsons: $ 3.69 for 1 gallon of plain fat free milk, $ 5 for a pack of Oreos that cost $ 3 elsewhere and $ 6 for a dozen eggs(granted there’s currently an issue with sick chickens but let’s be reasonable here)? I drove out of my way to Stater Bros today because I’d rather spend money on gas than support these unnecessarily high prices. If they were using the extra money to pay all employees $ 15/hr + benefits then I would shop here. But otherwise there’s no reason to.

Place is an over priced joke. I refuse to shop here even though it is the closest to my house and I used to use the Albertsons all the time. I now go to the Walmart Neighborhood Market just west of Haggens. Its cheap and they carry most normal things we need. Not to mention the people watching in that place is pure comedy! For anything I need of a higher standard(meat, fruit and veges) we just head over to Sprouts in Upland.

Ever since they took over for Von’s, this place is horrible. Way overpriced! Target and walnut are much cheaper. Attention to detail is horrible here. Voice recording says they close at 1a, website says midnight, and true closing time is 11p on Saturday night. Taking my patronage somewhere else.

Terrible. Long lines. Higher prices. Non-local products, like milk from Washington instead of local farmers. This place blows.

I hated this place at first… I think it grew on me though! Their prices are probably a bit more than Albertsons, but it’s worth it.

Went today. All produce was just sitting rotting. The employees seem like they hate working here. I was even told by one«how ridiculous the prices here are!»…this place is really just a bunch of corporate suits trying suits trying to get Rich

THEPRICESARE A JOKE! Everything has gone, I’m not kidding, almost double the price. For example; A brand of «natural» peanut butter was 5.99 $ at Sprouts… Haggen’s price? 14.99!!! I hope this place goes out of business. Highway robbery.

Haggen now occupies the building that was once Albertsons. The store is exactly the same but with Haggen items instead of the Albertsons food items. They have a bigger organic section and it seems higher prices. My mom warned me when we walked in that it was pretty empty. She wasn’t kidding. The high prices that they charge have driven customers elsewhere. While I don’t mind higher prices for quality food, I think that their selection is just average compared to the competition. They must have an out-of-state distribution center for the prices they charge. We bought a few items like brown sugar, vanilla, milk, and beer. It was ok for a supermarket that is close by but I’d go elsewhere for bargains.

This place was an albertsons and I’m not sure when they made the change. There are not that many changes other than branding. I came far out of my way to get the Albertsons fresh bread but I don’t know if it’s the same. There was wheat but I never tasted that so I have nothing to compare it to. The produce now says ‘organic’ which probably means it’s more expensive. I saw the usual employees there which leads me to believe it’s just a name change but idk. I didn’t notice anything different but if I do I’ll update this review!

I liked the Albertsons store that used to be at this location better. One reviewer hit the nail on the head that it was basically a facelift to the interior to the store with a price jump of just about everything inside. This is the closest grocery store to me, but I’m going to drive farther up the road to Vons for my shopping from now on. They have better sales for the same produce.

Since this market changed from a good Albertsons store, I’ve gone 3 times. The changes done by Haggens was a basic lip stick job inside. Same stuff in same locations for the most part. However prices jumped 20% + since the change. Liquor has gone to all time crazy person prices. I’m now a Staters shopper.

To the person who said something about high prices being a good thing to keep out the middle class, seriously? That has to be like the most ridiculous review I have read. This is a middle class neighborhood. I live nearby and I LOVED Albertsons. I was sad to see both of the locations near me turned into to Haggens. I won’t be shopping here even though it is the closest store to my house. Prices are higher and it’s nothing special.

Prices are way too high. Staff is nice. I will take my business to the Wal Mart Marketplace down the street until(if ever) prices are lower.

Jim Taylor is still the manager and should not be. This store used to be albertsons and apparently inherited this individual. He is very discriminating and not good for business. Read my last review under albertsons. Shame on you! There is enough negativity out there. Customer service should not discriminate. Just because the store changed names does not wash away the effect you had on my family. However, I do applaud the new ownership for keeping the other team members on board as they are fantastic and keep me coming back. But you Mr. Taylor make me cringe!

First and foremost, I would like to applaud the fact that the new ownership saw fit to keep most(if not all) of the former Albertson’s employees. It was nice seeing some familiar faces in the store. That said, I think it’s way too early in the transition to make a decent assessment of Haggens. Inside, it still pretty much looks the same, except for the bakery area, where it seems much more spacious that it used to be. Obviously, the signage and labels have all been changed, where appropriate. Since it is the closest market to my home, I’m what you would call a «captive audience». The prices seem to be about the same, as does the product selection, which works in my favor. I guess we will see how things turn out.
