Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage-Pool Bar

While the hotel service is amazing the pool bar experience left much to be desired. The pools are small and understaffed and cramped compared to other resorts and getting a chair or umbrella or food/​drink service is a very preferential and arbitrary process. Guests come early and get seats and save them with a magazine or throw away item and then people who arrive to actually use the space are turned away. At one point there were 4 people at the pool but all 50 chairs full. It is far from relaxing and far from the Ritz experience elsewhere at the hotel. 2 starts instead of one only because at one point the manager did try to rectify things.

This is an amazing vacation. From the moment you pull into the hotel you receive the best service ever! We left our sun screen and phone in the car and they did not hesitate to get them for us!
Our time at the pool is amazing. Lane, took incredible care of us. From rearranging umbrellas to protect us from the sun, suggesting food and drinks and they all were awesome! I hope the management knows how great he is! He made the day incredible taking excellent care of us.
The ice water and gratis slushes poolside were delish! We have stayed at a lot of hotels here, the Esmerelda, Marriott, to name a few! But all I can say is that if you haven’t stayed here you owe it to yourself to do that! Love it and I will be back! Everything is perfect. PJ Stanley
