We hired Jason to inspect a house we are currently trying to buy. He was recommended by our broker.
Jason arrived on time and independently walked around the house while I shadowed the other general inspector. Although I didn’t interact with Jason a lot he did provide a nice oral summary for us before he left. In general, his findings sort of mirrored those of the general inspector. Had Jason not been there I don’t think we would have missed anything too major-​maybe this was because the house didn’t have any major mold problems.
His summary report was pretty simple and easy to read.

The owner’s comments to my review were not entirely accurate, and you should know how he operates if you plan on hiring him. While it was true that we did not hire him, it was my family that was living in the unit and was subjected to the mold problem. Ask yourself: if he was not allowed to provide us any information, why would he ignore numerous phone calls and texts, instead of just calling back to say this? And finally, it was not true that he could not provide the information. At the inspection, which my wife attended, he told her face to face that «whoever pays for the report, gets the report». Then when we were calling to offer to pay for the report, he wouldn’t return calls. You can decide for yourself if this is shady.
