National Tae Kwon Do Center

This review is for the TKD party we had for my son here this past Sunday (12÷07÷14). We were being lazy parents and weren’t really planning on throwing a party for the kid this year, but he started talking about his birthday and asking about «my party», so last minute we were scrambling for party options.
I called around all the various bounce house places/​Chuck E. Cheese etc., but for the amount of people we needed to invite, it got pricey very quickly. They all charged per person (kids and adults alike). So my friend (thanks Viv!) whose son attends classes here suggested we try this place out as they offered a TKD party for an unlimited amount of people for $ 200 flat. Plus they allow you to bring in your own food/​drink — this was appreciated as other placed require you to order from them, thus escalating price even further.
Called NTKDC and spoke with Master George. The original date we wanted wasn’t available as they were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, and the Sat afterwards wasn’t an option as they were doing black belt testing that day. However, they very kindly did us a solid by allowing us to hold it on Sunday — a day they are normally closed.
The party went really well — they had all the kids and parents warm up and learn some basic TKD moves. Then they had the birthday boy come up and perform a routine (you go before the party starts and they teach your kid a routine to do in front of the guests), then they have the bday child break some boards (insert «oooohs!» here).
Master George and his assistant, Bernard (he was awesome too!) then told all the kiddos that they all did so well that they could all now break boards. Each child got to go up and break a board which they could keep. The kids loved this — they were all so proud that they could do it, and it was crazy adorable to watch.
Then everyone was given time to eat, followed by cake cutting. Master George came out with a giant TKD sword and helped our 4 yr old cut it. I can’t tell you how much this thrilled my little guy, plus it was quite a crowd pleaser.
Master George and Bernard were absolutely great with the kids, ran them through their paces, and helped us with anything we needed. The facility was spacious and clean, and could accommodate our large group (80 people total).
For $ 200, we were able to throw a wonderful party for our son (total party time was around 2.5 hrs). And they even give the birthday child a free uniform and provide vouchers for each guest to get a free two week trial with uniform. All in all we were very pleased with everything here. Thanks to NTKDC for helping us give our son a memorable birthday!
