I grew up eating Italian Hot Dogs made with quality hot dogs(like the old Sabretts or Best’s), sauted/fried onions and peppers(browned and soft), fried fresh potatoes, on pizza bread with ketchup AND mustard(ketchup & mustard optional). Pizza bread, if you’ve never had it, is pizza dough formed into a round loaf about the size of a dinner plate, with a small hole or indentation in the middle, and cooked in a pizza oven. It looks kinda like a big whole pita and when cut in half(or quartered), you can fill it with the hot dogs, veggies and potatoes. It’s this bread that MAKES the Italian Hot Dog. If you are just looking for a good, authentic Italian Hot Dog, this is the place to go. Please note that I’ve only gotten the single Italian Hot Dog and sweet potato fries, so I don’t know how any of their other food is. I do have a couple of issues: 1) the peppers and onions can be cooked a little more. This may just be my personal preference but I prefer the peppers and onions to be a little browner and softer, these still have a little crunch to them and 2) I’ve been here 3 times and each time I go I’m either the only person at the counter or there are very few people and I feel like I’m bothering them. They aren’t very welcoming. If I didn’t love and crave Italian Hot Dogs so much I wouldn’t come back because of the«feel» of the place. My FOURSTARS here are for the Italian Hot Dog itself — -and the place is clean. You are on your own for anything else here…:)

Buffs in Randolph. This is as good as it gets! To the person that gave one star saying the quality went down, that’s a crock. Been having these for 40 years, as far back as West Orange and they taste the same. Just get the double dog and see what I mean, nothing else like it in NJ.

Hey, I wish I could rate them higher too, but unfortunately they deserve 1.5 stars tops. Jimmy Buff’s is nothing new to me, I used to go to their West Orange location when I was a kid. A lot of people think that WO was their original location, but it was actually Newark. Either way, with the growing number of Jimmy Buff’s their product gets worse and worse. The East Hanover was the start of the downfall. Any real Jimmy Buff’s fan will tell you the same thing, it’s just not the same as West Orange. I too, like the first reviewer was excited that a new location was coming so close to where I live. I envisioned runs to get some Jimmy Buff’s since it’s now so close. Unfortunately, after the experience we had, I won’t be back. The staff is awkward, sort of friendly, sort of not. There are far too many of them standing around making it feel uncomfortable. The location is kind of strange, nothing ever succeeds in that space. They did a good job with the décor and made the most of what they had, but Jimmy Buff’s and golf balls seems like a weird combination to me. The bread is stale as could be, the dogs are mediocre at best. Nothing stood out as good, let alone great. They REALLY need to get a handle on their bread. Any Italian who knows what good bread tastes like is not going not going to be happy with their product. Maybe if my short term memory fails me or I am feeling extra nice I would give them one more try, but I doubt it. This is a definitely strike out for me.

I love Jimmy Buff’s Italian hot dogs. There as i have said before the best worst food you can eat. So when i found they were opening one in my town i was super excited. There in with the driving range and it pretty convenient to stop in after the hitting some balls at the range. When i went the other day i ordered a double, and either i remember them small or they just make them huge hear. I was surprised when i still ate the whole thing. And they were spot on. They staff is pretty friendly and apparently you can do childrens brithday parties here. So have your child next 7th birthday or your next 37th birthday hear and try a Single or if you up to it a double. As a side note, I also came here for our search for New Jersey greatest hot dog.
