My co-worker and I went to the Barn this past Wed. for lunch. It was a lovely day which is why we asked to be seated outside. The gentleman who seated us seemed annoyed when we requested a seat on the deck. He said a table would need to be cleared. We sat down and our waitress came over, took our drink order and gave us menus. We noticed there was a party on the lower deck below us which we later found out was from Picatinny. The waitress returned with our drinks, we ordered burgers, done medium. We said we were on lunch, handed her our payment so we could leave right after eating. This was about 1:10, our burgers came about 1:30, I cut into it and blood gushed from it. And was extremely rare. The French fries were not fresh but looked like they they had be sitting under a heating lamp. We looked for someone to speak with, but no one was around. My friend then saw our waitress, took both our plates to her and said they were not cooked as we ordered. After she returned them to the kitchen, she came over and apologized, we said that it was not her fault but may we please speak to the manager. The gentleman who seated us came over and said that with the party they were very busy and things take time to grill. I said I realize that however, it was 2 burgers and fries, and that we said we were on lunch break. He seemed irritated and said«sorry» but it takes 15 min to grill. So our burgers were brought to us at 1:45, my friend ate some and had ½ boxed, I took a few bites and we left. I did not have mine boxed because I don’t think burgers are good reheated. I am annoyed at the managers attitude, he did not sound sorry nor did he act like he cared. We go to the barn often but regardless, customer service should be the primary goal of restaurant. The message we got from him was don’t bother me when we have a party at the Barn.

This review is for off site catering. The barn and their staff was fantastic to work with! The food was of course excellent, but the staff especially the chef who stayed on site really went above and beyond! I would highly recommend the barn for catering and will definitely be using them again.

This was our first time dining here. The environment seems super chill and I bet the outdoor seating would be great during the summer with the pond right there. However, my wife and I split the rotisserie chicken and it was WAY too salty. Honestly it tasted like salted pork not chicken. It was very tender and juicy, but the flavor was way off. The barbecue sauce even tasted salty.

Visited this place for the first time today for dinner. The view was INCREDIBLE. Very nice patio overlooking a lake They had a special bbq themed menu in addition to their normal menu, we didn’t try anything from it but it looked good. There menu has a ton of options including some good seafood as steak, burgers and salads. The food is pretty good but the service was a little slow and the tuna didn’t seam very fresh so overall I gave it 4 stars. Would definitely return

Recently visited the Sunday Brunch with my family of nine. We had reservations and our table awaited us. We were seated, had coffee and libations ordered and delivered and then went to the ALLYOUCANEAT buffet. The food was classic smörgåsbord. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, salads, and a carving board with Han, beef and seasonal sea food. The motto was«TAKEALLYOUWANT. EATALLYOUTAKE. « My party was happy! They enjoyed the food, The staff was courteous and attentive. Used plates were whisked away and coffee and kids drinks did not get to stay empty. I enjoyed our visit to the Barn. I recommend that you try it out. Suggestion: Calling for reservations will help make a fun meal.

If you want to grab a beer and watch a band, this is a great place. For dinner this place is just flat out awful. Went last night with a large group of people. Reservations were made a week in advance for 7pm. Knew we where in trouble when the hostess looked surprised upon our arrival. Seems they had a graduation party, so tables where few and far between. How do you make a reservation over a week in advance a not know this? We waited in the bar and we’re promised to be seated at 7:30. At 8:15 we left and went to NJ bar and grill in mine hill. Explained how rudely we were treated at the barn and they sat all 14 of us right away, even though they were busy. It worked out better as the food, beer, service and atmosphere at the NJ Bar and grille where much better than the barn could ever be. It turned out to be a great evening.

Just had lunch the fruit fly bar in THEBARN. Just because you’re eating in a place called THEBARN, doesn’t mean it should be full of stable flies. I ordered a burger medium rare and it was medium well, my friend ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken was so thin it was almost transparent. If you like the taste of bread then this is the place to go because all of their sandwiches wish they had meat on them. The Fruit fly problems at the bar have been consistent for at least 7 years, maybe longer. The entire place is pretty much a dingy dump that needs a face lift, but management is to cheap to do it. If you sit at the bar it is dirty and old. If you sit outside in the spring and summer it is dirty plastic tables and the smell of cigarettes from their smoking area RIGHTATTHEENTRANCE to the place. So as you walk into this family friendly place your kids get the extra of «Second Hand Smoke». I highly recommend it if you have good health insurance, and want to die early so that your spouse can collect on your life insurance.

This is our go to place after work(down the street at RTSP). The staff is always accommodating, especially considering we parachute in sometimes 10 deep. The wait staff is great and the meals are on point. I have come here for a quick dinner date with my wife and enjoy when the fireplace is lit. Love music at night adds to the fun. Check it out, you will enjoy the fare, friends and drinks.

I love coming to the Barn for a great, inexpensive and tasty meal with great outdoor seating! They always have the fire pit burning outside which is so nice. Their seasonal menu is great, the pizzas are awesome and I love their salads! Definitely request to sit by the river if you can!

Food was excellent. Wasn’t the best service. Took forever to get water refilled after having to ask. Our main course came out only moments after our appetizer. One of our bags of leftovers went missing, but it was made up for by giving us a full mea to take home. We will definitely go back! Ribs were delicious!!!

We stopped in here for a weekday lunch the other day, I ordered a veggie wrap with a side salad, I enjoyed my lunch very much. The veggies in the wrap were well cooked and I was honestly worried that the asparagus would be undercooked. The horseradish sauce on the wrap had the right amount of heat and it wasn’t too messy. The side salad was also the right portion size and had a nice assortment of veggies on it. I would return for lunch but only if it were after the fireplace had already been started! They nearly smoked us all out with cardboard and lighter fluid smoke. Several staff members were attempting to start the fire for nearly an hour while we were there and I’m not even sure if it ever got going. I’ll come back when we can sit outside!

This place used to be good. Not anymore. Today was for sure the last time I’ll waste money at this restaurant. I ordered off the«winter 2015 specials’ menu, or something similar. A PIZZA(not flatbread — PIZZA) with blue cheese, red onions, arugula, roasted peppers and steak. What came out was cooked pizza dough(no sauce, no cheese), spinach or lettuce, many, many HUGE chunks of red onion(I’m a huge red onion fan — but LARGECHUNKS are gross), ‘cheese’ that had an aftertaste of blue cheese but was like no blue cheese I’ve ever eaten and each slice has a small piece of steak with grizzle. For this monstrosity, I got to pay $ 19.99. It was disgusting and clearly the folks in the kitchen have no clue what they’re doing. And no pride in their jobs. Server was a moron, agreed with me that it wasn’t arugula on my «pizza» but didn’t offer compensation. Plus his work ethic is severely lacking. Skip this place — I think there’s a McDonald’s down the street. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it more.

First time back at the Barn in over a year. Fruit files are still present at the bar. I ordered a burger, medium rare, which came out well done. The bacon on the burger was severely under cooked, close to raw. Ordered a pizza, «yer basic pie», which didn’t taste good at all. Again, staff removed these items from our bill. I guess the food here just isn’t for me. Doubtful I’ll be back.

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner last Sunday and it was a good time. Seems like a fun place where many locals go to hang out, enjoy quality food, listen to live music, and sit by the river. They have a huge establishment(and I’m also used to NYC-sized restaurants). Their inside dining area is large, with a bar area completely separated from the sit-down dining area. The bar is pretty large, with TVs on the walls, and it seemed pretty busy. We got a spot on the outdoor patio, which was covered by a large tent. We weren’t close to the water, but it looks like they have ample seating down there too. It’s definitely a family-oriented restaurant, as little kids were running all around and playing near the banks. They have a lot of vegetarian options, which I was pleasantly surprised to find out. One of my friends and I split two entrees — the sante fe veggie burger and the white pizza(without broccoli). The veggie burger was decent — it didn’t fall apart, but didn’t have much taste, unless you put sauce on it. We also ordered the fries instead of the chips. The white pizza was OK — it was really large! The breaded eggplant was definitely the best part of the pizza. Overall, I can see why this place is a huge hit in the community.

My ex and kids live in Randolph so I am there quite often. And being a single dad 45 minutes from home, my visits generally include a meal. There is always some debate over where to go. Morristown is close as are a plethora of restaurants along rt 10. Since my sons cannot even agree on what day of the week it is, there is usually a difference of opinion over where to go. Inevitably, I will suggest the Barn and all of a sudden a light miraculously appears over each of their heads and they smile, sort of. I like the Barn a lot. The food is consistently good and service attentive. Prices are fair, selection and drinks are more than adequate. They also have a bunch of TVs and a real fireplace which is quite nice although once I sat next to it and thought my ass was going to catch fire. They also have a fire pit outside and more than ample parking. If there is a wait, it’s never too long. This place is an excellent alternative to the chains in the area. They offer a better selection and quality of food at about the same price as you would find at a Houlihans or Bennigans. I love the rustic feel and décor and have never had a bad experience with anything there. I think if they were closer to me, I would be there a hell of a lot more but for now, when I visit the boys, this is our«go to» place and I am more than fine with that.
