Little Critter Pet Center

I would give this store 4 stars but over the years they have become more of a dog food store then anything. They have a descent variety and not bad pricing. The fish section is half of what it use to be. Besides that the selection of live animals arent bad. If you are in the area I would still check it out.

I am changing my rating of this store as it speaks a lot about character for the store to disparage a customer and not to be factual in the slightess bit. No one ever expressed concerns about shipping to me because the bird was unhealthy until after they sold it to another person. The bird was advertised with shipping as an option. Deb spoke to me about shipping and never expressed reservations and gave me the airport code to assist me in locating a flight. The Assistant Manager and the Manager later told me that they do not normally ship, that they sell locally only and that they aren’t prepared to respond to someone requesting shipping.
This should not surprise me that Debbie is willing to not be truthful on Unilocal since she lied multiple times to Sue when Sue asked her about her actions regarding this bird. I actually really wanted to help a bird who had not found a home after being in a pet store for 3 years. My goal was not to have any bird but to help a bird in need so a baby bird was not appealing to me. It is interesting how a person is so willing to change her story to protect herself instead of acting with character and owning up to her unprofessionalism.
This transpired over a matter of days and they refused to ship to me when I had someone coming in to pick up the bird that day because someone who called subsequent to me wanted to come in and see the bird. Debbie had already told me she would ship the bird to me so it shocked me when the Asst Manager told me that someone else wanted to see it and he didn’t have what was needed to ship. No one ever expressed that the heath of the bird was an issue until after the sold the bird to someone else.
I live several states away, and at a lot of inconvenience to myself wanted to see if I could help a bird who never found a home even though the bird wasn’t in a location close to me. I never previously dealt with the store and would have no reason to be dishonest unlike Debbie. So my intention was not to snap up an inexpensive bird but to provide a bird without a home a good one. I hope that the bird is well and hope those in NH find other options to getting a companion pet bird than through this store. I have decided to adopt a rescue bird instead of buying a baby bird from this store.
Also, can an employee of the store write a review of her own actions and rate herself to counteract a customer’s rating? Doesn’t that violate Unilocal policy in self dealing? Buyer beware.

I wandered into this pet shop today, completely random, after doing a search for pet stores near my current location, and it directed me to Little Critters. I walked in and was instantly greeted, both myself and my puppy :) I like the fact that this isn’t a corporate kind of establishment, I like private/​local businesses, I find them to be more personable. I needed assistance with some products and Holly helped me. She was awesome! So helpful and knowledgeable, very friendly. They have a good offering of high quality food for both dogs and cats, and they will even special order anything for you if you don’t see it in the store, with no additional charge. They have a room with some small animals i.e. ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice. They all look like they are well taken care of and the cages were super clean. Overall a nice local establishment. It is a little bit farther away than a couple of other place, but I will definitely be back!

Great pet store. They have a wide variety of pets and products for sale. I’ve been to some pet stores that are really depressing (like the one at the Mall of NH that they closed down) and this is not one of them — it’s clean and all the animals are well taken care of. You’ll usually find puppies, kittens, ferrets, mice, and an entire section devoted to fish, among other animals. There’s a cute little play area if you want to meet one of their four-​legged creatures. I have shopped here for my ferrets and they always had what I needed. Their selection of cat and dog food is impressive; the shelves reach so high that you need help to reach the top, unless you are in the mood to climb. My dog is a picky eater and this store never failed to have the products he likes.
The staff members have always been knowledgeable and helpful, speaking as a customer who has shopped here for many years. One of the last times I visited, I asked for a pretty specific dog food flavor and this woman knew exactly what brand sold it and where it was stocked. The people there also took in my kittens when my barn cat had a litter, and that was incredibly nice of them. It may be safe to assume that they take in all their animals from kindhearted people and places, though I have never asked them this myself. In any event, they win my respect because it is obvious that they are all caring animal lovers, and you will know that just from speaking to them and walking around the store.

This little local pet store actually has a fairly large variety of pets to purchase. They usually have a variety of song birds and parrots, some small animals, a relatively large selection of reptiles, a decent aquarium section, and occasional puppies and kittens near the front. The lack of constant influx of puppies and kittens makes me wonder if they work with local breeders.
This pet store has a good selection of food and accessories for all varieties of animals. It is probably comparable to any larger pet store except they stock items in smaller quantities, driving the cost up a little I’m sure.
I have not had to deal with the employees yet other than during check out, so I can’t comment on their knowledge base. But they seemed friendly.
