Anthony’s Roast Beef and Pizza

Don’t listen when they give you a time frame. They say 15 minutes, and when you show up 15 minutes later you still have to wait 20 for your order. On a Monday no less.

This place is really nice inside-​clean and modern looking. It could be a great take out restaurant but they are so slow and never get the order right! The girls that work there seem to never know what they are doing and mess everything up which is very unfortunate. I ordered a chicken parm calzone, took along time to make, when they gave it to me it was buffalo chicken! So now I had to wait around 30 minutes for what I originally ordered! Luckily I was not in a rush but it is ridiculous how they seem to never get it right and always take FOREVER to get the food out to you. If I could I would give the service zero stars but as you can see I give this place three stars because the chicken parm calzone is the best calzone I have ever had! It is really amazing! I rarely do come here though because of the awful service but if you are looking for a fantastic chicken parm calzone this is the place to go! It is sooooo good!

This place sucks! Your order is always wrong. Probably because every single one of the girls that works there are not even capable of spelling their names or tying there shoes. Waited over an hour for our food and had to cancel it. The dumb girls there kept saying any minute it would be there. After an hour they still hadn’t left with it. Morons. All of them.

This place sucks… It honestly does. The chicken parm pizza had literally 6 pieces of chicken on it and the crust was soggy. The steak and cheese was best described as a sack of shit. Here are some pictures for proof

The place has raised prices and the quality has plummeted. They just don’t pay attention to your order nor do they care. There are so many other pizza/​sandwich shops in the area. I ordered a chicken/​ziti/​broccoli and there were just two pieces of broccoli and they were grayish in color… not fresh. Too bad, I use to like this place.

I normally like the food but today we waited for a pizza delivery for 2 ½ hours!!! Then after the third time we called (every time they had a different story) they said there was a mistake with our order and they would make a new one for free, but we had to wait extra 40 min!!! We also got free soda and a small salad with it. And when the pizza finally arrived it was extremely greasy. Very disappointing.

Well, after seeing the reviews, I understand why they keep their prices so low. With that kind of service feedback, they have to! In all fairness, the pizza is good. Best value you will find in MA. We use this place to feed a crowd, like kids’ parties, etc. A good balance of quality and value, but if you want hands down the best pizza in Reading, you’ll need to go elsewhere… and pay a lot more.

My Fiancé picked up 1 Greek salad and one chef salad today (2÷3÷16). BOTH salads had a few frozen tomatoes in them when we brought them home (1 Mile away). The MAIN problem was, when my Fiancée asked for a Balsamic and a Greek dressing while picking them up… the young Teenage girl (Long brown hair, First initial on the receipt sailed «K») grabbed the dressings and rolled her eyes as she «Slid» the dressings down the counter. My Fiancée called the owner on her way home and asked to speak to a manager or Owner. The girl asked «who’s this», and then she put «Anthony» on the phone who said he would take care of her attitude. Hopefully he does.

The fries are always cold. Always. And I just found some tuna fish in my buffalo chicken wrap? Come on.

The food here is actually quite good. The real issue is that Anthonys charges for delivery and the food always arrives ice cold– even if you live pretty close by. Another problem is they have countless teenage girls at the counter who have no experience and have a really bad attitude and aren’t well trained and it seems there’s no way around that. The turkey subs are good, very tasty steak fries and the restaurant is fairly clean. Consitering they seem to do so much delivery rather than pick ups they’d have it nailed and it’s just insulting to charge for delivery, and have the food show up an hour later, cold on a weekday.

Waited 1hr 30mins (not an exaggeration) pizza was soggy and gross. Wondering how much it cost them for the Phantom Gourmet sticker on the door. What a joke!!!

Their medium calzone (for $ 15) comes in a small pizza box. Seek value elsewhere.

Had a half of pasta coupon and thought I would try it because I liked their other meals. I got the chicken, ziti, broccoli Alfredo which was almost inedible. It’s too bad because I was so hungry. The Alfredo sauce does not taste freshly made and the chicken they used was marinated for the kabob salad. Kabob salad chicken in chicken ziti broccoli? Who does that?! Entirely disappointed.

Hit or miss. Missed more than hit for me. People who took orders on the phone couldn’t follow directions.

Stopped there on a Sunday afternoon. Drove by this place many times, thought I’d check it out. I regret now that I didn’t keep on driving. Ordered a Junior Beef extra mayo. Only 3 other people in the place, 2 of them were these hyper unsupervised brats
acting like idiots bouncing all over the empty chairs and tables. Waited over 15 minutes for my sandwich, no fries to be cooked, no drink, just a cold sandwich! I picked out the cleanest dirty table, sat down in one of their hollowed out, rickety, child size plastic chairs, (they must have got a good deal at the local Dollar Store), put my food down, and the table started to tip over since the legs weren’t balanced and there was a hole in the floor as well. I came close to falling over on my face towards the floor. The three oblivious giggling teenage girl servers were too engrossed with their Dumbphones to ask me if I was okay, or even care for that matter. So after finding a spot that wasn’t going to send me to the ER, I opened the wrapper to my Junior Beef. Brought it up to my mouth, right away I smelled a foul oder. Took a bite, spit it out. Thought I got a bad piece of meat in it. Took another bite, same thing. Tasted like meat left out in the sun all day, putrid and nasty. I was so livid at this point, I couldn’t be bothered asking to see the manager for my money back since there wasn’t one there anyways, just young and dumb kids, even the so called «cook». I scrunched up the rotten roadkill sandwich, and did a Tom Brady spiral throw into the trash barrel 6 feet away. Threw open the dilapidated screen door, got in my truck and peeled out of the parking lot to the nearest Burger King right down the street. Nice fresh hot double burger, no complaints there. If you ever drive past this God awful toilet and think about stopping in, take my advice, floor the gas pedal and don’t look back.

Food is good… Make sure you don’t leave a tip in the «tip jar»… The owner takes all the money. The kids who work there don’t get any or the tips!

Great food. Rude help. Have them many opportunities to be nice. Shame on me for that.

Waited almost an hour for a order of two pizzas. One was supposed to be a magarita pizza. There was no fresh basil. The woman working there said they used crushed dried basil and must of forgot to put in on and then gave me dried crushed oregano a dirty look and no apolgy. And they are expensive. This is the worse place in town.

An hour and 40 minutes to deliver 2 dinners and a salad from 2 miles away. Ordered a steak tip and chicken kabob combo rice plate to get no chicken at all in my order. My large fries are cold my pizza is cold… Disappointed

As a company in the area coworkers and i order all the time. We order at lease 3 or 4 times a week and order at least $ 50 dollars at the low side. The food is really good BUT unfortunately they lack and when i say LACK i mean have NO customer service skills at all. they are very quick on the phone. As if it is a inconvenience to be placing a order. hello: if we dont place orders YOU DONT HAVE A BUSINESS: as a customer we should not feel like we are a inconvenience.. When going to pick up the order Anthony was very quick and upset bc we didnt have a order number.. And RUDE: there are plenty of good places in the area that appreciate our business.. So fair to say we will be not ordering anymore and will continue to do business elsewhere..
