I was referred to Our House by the company that sold me a door as part of a $ 76,000 remodel of my house. Unfortunately the original general contractor didn’t do a lot of things right and I’m starting the process of fixing his mess, starting with this improperly installed door that leaks water due to improper flashing. This is a 3 hour job that requires three removal of the trim and cedar shingles to install the flashing.
Our House not only tried to sell me a new door, which I don’t need, but they tried to sell me the same door!
And they charge $ 1,500 to install a door, even if you don’t need a door installed!
He also wasn’t knowledgeable and didn’t seem to know how a door should be flashed. He simply wanted to remove the door and put it back — something my originally incompetent contractor did. Twice.
Fortunately I already have written quotes from more competent and honest contractors for $ 450 and $ 750, labor and material.
I’ll never bother with Our House again.
