Chem-Dry by the Millers

I had an appointment for 10:30 — 11:00 and the tech finally showed up after 12:00. I wanted the 3 room special for $ 99.99. The tech looked at my carpets and made several calculation on his calculator then gave me a quote of over $ 600.00! I reminded him I had a coupon that listed the $ 99.99 for 3 rooms. He went back to his calculator and gave me a revised quote of over $ 300.00! I asked him if any of his other customers «went for «this tactic and he said yes, a lot of them! I thanked him for his time and escorted him out the door. I then called a competitor and they showed up on time, cleaned my carpets and charged me the exact amount I had been quoted over the phone. I wish I had checked this company out before hiring them. Believe me, I won’t be calling this company again.

We had an appt scheduled and received a call 5 minutes before the scheduled time «asking» if they can come later. Was told they would be there in an hour. An hour in a half passes and no call/​no show. I called to find out where they were and was then told they would be about another ½ hour. We were not able to commit a whole day waiting around for them to decide when they would like to show so we had to cancel the service. Completely unprofessional and would not recommend.

Tried to upsell me to death. I was told over the phone that cleaning the carpets and kitchen tiles should be about $ 350. However, once onsite they came with a $ 1300 estimate. They even included the square footage of tiles under the kitchen cabinets in their quote. What am I a fool!

Used before and did upsell, but came out clean. Scheduled another service and they didn’t show. When I called they said it was cancelled, nice of them to tell me. Found someone else to do it the same day at half the price.

I had a $ 99 coupon for three rooms. Here less than an hour, only did two rooms, and charged me $ 558! I was told they would be almost completely dry within an hour or two. It took almost 3 full days to dry (not just in some spots, the WHOLE carpet). Now it’s dry but its «crunchy»! I sent them an email to voice my unhappiness on Saturday evening… It’s now Wednesday. No response. I had a competitor do this same service 6 months ago… Great job, dry in one day and only $ 138. I want a refund! I will never use this company again nor will I ever recommend them. I am not the first to have this problem. I read reviews but thought I’d give them a chance because most of the reviews were ok. But of course they are… It’s your site I saw them on. This is NOT a good way to get more business. I will also be contacting the BBB. Why offer a coupon if you aren’t going to honor it… There is a big difference between $ 99 and $ 558. Your service is NOT worth that much. I don’t care what you use. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
