The soup man’s place is tucked away in the alley from the municipal parking lot, next to dunlin house in Red Bank. The best soup in the area which is freshly made daily. Usually a variety of 3 different soups which go very fast. The escarole and bean was amazing yesterday. Stopped in to bring my Mom some soup, because if you don’t have time to make it yourself the soup man makes it just as good. Don’t want soup try the hot dogs as he is famous for that also after all it is called That Hot Dog Place. Take out only, no seating.

The chicken tortilla soup was delicious! It’s a cute little place — it only has seating outside but it was a beautiful day out so there was no problem. The kiddos had a hot dog and a sandwich and they enjoyed them.

They have the best soups in red bank and have been here forever. It’s a little bit hidden from the street but it’s right next to Dublin. You can get a soup and sandwhich for five dollars and it’s a pretty big serving. They also always have vegetarian options! I suggest signing up for the email it will notify you of what soups are available that day.

Super small place but kept clean. The owner is friendly, approachable and takes pride in his soups and food. The hot dog was delicious and worked really well on the hoagie roll. Chili wasn’t too hot but complimented the spicy mustard well. The Italian wedding soup was AWESOME!!! Will definitely go back.

When they say«You should take a visit to That Hot Dog Place in Red Bank», you should probably listen because that might be the best advice you may have ever taken in life! This place is not a joke, even if the name sounds like it. You should really see the reason why«That Hot Dog Place» is often named in the Central New Jersey area as one of the best lunchtime spots in the county! This place, run single-handedly by the Soupmeister, Gary, himself, should be on every soup lover’s bucket list — especially if you live in the Northeast! Finding the place wasn’t so difficult after the first time, but the fact that you learn that it’s in-between a nice alley between another building and an Irish pub is quite the thing. The fact that it’s a small store is also not a bad thing to me — in fact, it’s the pinnacle to a real nice small business that can still be proud of its roots and call themselves a well established business. Upon entering, you see Gary, the man behind it all, always smiling with a positive attitude. He’s a true icon of a local man who can make any stranger he doesn’t know into someone who will find joy in talking with the one man with the power to serve up a great lunch! When I’m there, I’m always down for a soup and a ¼ lb. hot dog. I don’t work around there, but when the daily soups get me, I will do what it takes to get myself down there for lunch! Gary selects up to 3, sometimes 4, different selections of delicious, fresh-made soups(and almost every day he shoots out the e-mail of the next day’s selections, there’s usually something that will make me want to go.) Last time, I had a Manhattan-Style Clam Chowder and it was scrumptious to the last sip! He prepares the delicate clams within good to the bite and swallow and it goes along so well with the rest of the vegetables and the tomato broth. In the past, I’ve also enjoyed his New England Clam Chowder and Chicken Pot Pie, my #1 favourite, as well! Nobody can stop The Soupmeister, so you may well enjoy it! He’s serving up soup the way you probably would at home! With a 12oz cup of soup and a hot dog, the entire meal right there is $ 8. He doesn’t accept Credit or Debit Cards(and nor should he because he shouldn’t have to pay commission out of his earnings… he deserves 100% of the earnings!) He does accept Cash, though, so bring some — especially if you feel you might want seconds! I’ll be honest, one soup and a ¼ lb. hot dog is the perfect amount for lunch(and at the right price!) So where do you go the next time someone says«Hey, you should check out That Hot Dog Place!»? Where do you go if you want some nice, fresh-made soup? Where should you stop by for lunch at the right price? Sounds like you know the one guy you need to consult — The Soupmeister Gary himself! I highly recommend it as one of the best lunchtime spots in the Northeast you can go to!

Gary, Nails it home. I found THDP by a recommendation from a coworker, and stopped in over this past summer a few times and i was never disappointed. I figured its time to write my review. The hod dogs ¼ lbs are big and juicy and very tasty, I have had them with Ketchup and mustard, with Chili and onion, with relish and mustard, just about any condiment you can think of, and they are deli-sh. You have to get the Chili-dog with raw onion. The soups.OMG. i have had soups, but Gary s soups are soups.!, Hearty, Tasty, well groomed and hot on a cold fall day. Today i had the Portuguese sausage & Kale, it was just the right spice, nice and hot, and plenty of sausage, potatoes, beans, kale, and the flavors are amazing. I have had the split pea with ham, New England clam chowda. spicy sausage, Hungarian beef noodle, cream of chicken & shells. too many i have tried and too long to list. My favorites are the one i list above, the spicy sausage, and the New England Clam Chowda. all have great flavors, robust and make your mouth sing. If your in the area or passing through you have to hit up «That hot Dog Place» and give Gary a shot. Mike the Mason.

What a great place! I haven’t had a chance to try the dogs yet but I’ve had the soup a few times and each time it was out of this world. My favorite was his chicken pot pie soup. So comforting. He usually has 3 – 4 choices each day for lunch. His prices are more than reasonable. It’s a super tiny place but he does put out some outdoor tables in the summer if you aren’t looking to take the food back to work/home. Can’t wait to go back and try more of his soups.

A hidden gem in Red Bank. Gary, owner and operator, makes up delicious soups and dogs and is always up on the latest sports news. The soups are made daily and there’s usually 3 – 4 choices, all different. The dogs are my favorite — two sizes and a laundry list of topping options. It’s well worth waiting in the line that typically forms around lunchtime. The tables set up in the little alley in the summer are great. It’s shady and you get a nice breeze. One of my all time favorite places in Red Bank.

A hidden gem in a cute little alleyway next to the Dublin House in Red Bank. Tiny and extremely popular with locals, this is a great place to go for lunch. The dogs are good, plenty of varieties and they’re well prepared. But honestly, the soup here is the star. I think it’s all homemade, and it’s always fantastic(they sometimes run out, so aim to get here early). Be patient, there’s often a line. Once you find it, you may not want to let the secret out.

My hairdresser told me about this little hidden gem right in the heart of Red Bank! This little teenie tiny joint makes the most delicious soups, Roast turkey, tuna, ham, BEST chicken salad sandwiches ever, Gourmet & pushcart hot dogs all at an affordable price. You will have to sit outside at the tables provided or take your sandwiches to go, but it is so worth the trip! You will thank me! Mr. Sable that owns the establishment is very engaging and fun to chat with… He really treats you like you are his best customer!

Are there really no reviews for That Hot Dog Place here? This a folky little hole in the wall in the alley next to the Dublin House where you can get hot dogs, soups, and sandwiches for lunch. Gary the owner is the only one that works behind the little counter and seems to know everyone who goes there. He makes his soup fresh ever day and he posts them on his site each night. The soup is great, usually something with meat, veggies, and fish. Good chili too. Sandwiches are great, but the hot dogs are amazing. I prefer the«cart dog» but he also makes a ¼lb grilled dog. Tons of toppings and the prices are incredibly reasonable. The only downside is that Gary likes to chat with the customers so if the line is long it can take a while. I usually wait until after 1 to get my lunch or I would be standing in the alley waiting to get in. My only complaint as an admitted foodie is that there is never enough salt or pepper in his recipes. If you live anywhere near Red Bank you REALLY need to find this place.
