It’s good but at the end of the day you’re paying $ 6 – 7 for beans, rice and guac wrapped in a tortilla lol and the weird distracting sight of their unfixed dog.

This place is an absolute gem! Perhaps the exterior is not so appealing, from the road it does appear a little sketchy, but it is really anything but. The kitchen is super clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the service is pretty quick, except in the spring when they first open and the place is mobbed. You’re not going to get your standard chicken or beef burrito here. In fact, you won’t find any meat on the menu. What you will get is a fantastic burrito made with locally produced veggies, tons of rice, beans and guacamole which will keep you stuffed all day or can serve as two meals. Additionally, they have a wonderful spicy pickled cucumber salad which is offered gratis with the purchase of any item on the menu. Also not to be missed is their drink of the day which tends to sell out pretty quickly.

This is legitimately one of the best burritos I have ever heard. And veggie to boot.

Bubby’s will be closing down soon for the season. Sadness has washed over me! It’s always a sign of colder days to come! Get your Burrito’s while you can! I believe the 25th is there last day!

Nice little roadside place to pick up a burrito and enjoy the view. As others have said, the menu is limited– but that doesn’t mean they won’t customize your order. I’m not a dairy fan and they happily obliged by making my guacamole burrito without cheese and sour cream. The salsas are nice and hot and the burritos tasted fresh and homemade. Bonus– the dog came along for the ride and had fun roaming around while we ate.

Super solid, grilled vegetarian Burrito made fast with fresh ingredients. I think it’s the charred tortilla that makes me not totally miss the meat(and I’m a huge carne asada and carnitas burrito fan from Northern CA). It actually seems a bit pricey for a no-meat offering with little overhead(compared to a restaurant) but it’s by far the best«Mexcian» within 10 – 20 miles.

I am from California, where burritos rein supreme and Bubby’s takes me right back. The real key to their authenticity is the salsa, spicy and flavorful, they turn this munching experience into one you will not easily forget. Not to mention the amazing agua fresca they have on hand. Best Mexican this side of the Hudson!

Great vegetarian burritos from this seasonal stand next to Hardemans Orchards on ROute 199 in Red Hook are one of the joys of summer. Freshly prepared with healthy, fresh ingredients, these simple burritos are truly soul satisfying food. Don’t miss the feshly made hot sauces to add some spice to your burrito.

Ok look, Here is the scoop on Bubby’s Burrito Stand. Rob S. Writes, «These burritos are not up to the quality of California burritos, but let’s not quibble. An excellent choice the suburban wilds of the upper Hudson [Valley]» And Damn well said too Rob. I don’t know you but you sure know your burritos. I lived in northern California for four years and there was this burrito place called Hey Juan’s. It was a divey-looking place, but damn their burritos were like crack — such is the case with Bubby’s Burrito Stand. I could eat these burritos from dawn ’till dusk and crave one the next day for breakfast. I went to Bard for graduate school and honestly, I was late for many classes because of a detour to this shabby looking trailer on a hill. There are two burritos, one with guacamole and one without. If I had the extra dollar I always got the guacamole. When I did not, I was happy to go without. I live in Kingston and have a job deep in the Catskills and seriously, there have been times when I considered being late for work just so I could take one of those with me. What I appreciate most about this place is it’s unpretentious dead on formula of good ingredients, fast service, and serious hot sauce(that you have to give them in the proportions you want.) I suppose they could include extra stuff … meat and maybe some other options, but that would destroy one of the best things about the place. They do one thing and they do it in a damn fine way.(They do offer a quesadilla, but I have never see anyone order it.) So my review is simple: Hell yeah. But get them while you can they close for the fall and winter. You just have to pine until spring!

Bubby’s is Tumblr famous! Though I am a local over in Rhinebeck, I often see pictures of this adorable place on Tumblr because it’s just a sweet little camper decorated with mismatched flower pots and a hand-painted sign and menu. The prices are very reasonable but as a burrito aficionado I feel like this place is underwhelming. There are two options for burritos(basically with and without guacamole). I have gotten the guacamole ‘rito twice and was kinda turned off by their use of white rice and a charred tortilla that tasted burned. I’d definitely recommend stopping by to support this little, independent operation and enjoy the quiet and nature of beautiful Red Hook. Definitely a place to try for yourself! As for burritos, my fave are over at Mole Mole in Kingston and Poughkeepsie.

Most of the time I’d say global warming SUCKS. However… the burrito stand is only open in warm months. So if global warming means we live in like a reverse-Narnia situation where it’s always summer and the burrito stand never closes, I have to say, I’m kinda for it. There is nothing better than the burrito stand. Nothing.

Went here to pick up lunch for the office the other day. Had never been myself… in terms of burrito food trucks I’d only gone to Tin Cantina going towards Woodstock– but these guys are comparable! Delicious, the guacamole was great and fresh, salsa was good, burritos were nice sized, I’ll definitely be back.

These burritos are not up to the quality of California burritos, but let’s not quibble. An excellent choice for the suburban wilds of the upper Hudson. Ingredients are fresh, entirely vegetarian, simply rendered and healthy. You may long for certain ingredients often found in Mexican cooking(salt, lard, more onions and oh yeah barbecued goat) but if you let go of those expectations there is pleasure to be had here. Eat outside at the picnic table, on the grass or on one of two rustic benches. Let the sun hit your face, enjoy the green surroundings and appreciate that these hipsters have hit upon a simple but winning strategy. The black beans were done in the thicker, re-fried manner. This makes the burritos more cohesive but one longs for the flavor payoff you get with the slow-simmer, wetter style. The flour tortillas are lightly charred to perfection.(A lesson in how much properly chosen and properly prepared, dignified ingredients can accomplish). The guacamole is another stand out. It helps if you don’t mind dogs. The stand has a dog that is always around. He’s a good looking, curious, pretty chill animal but depending on what he’s feeling he might give your car tires a quick whiz.

The bestest place. Solid vegetarian burritos and quesadillas, homemade agua de frutas, green and red salsas, pickled onions & cucumbers. They put a magical char on the tortilla, and serve it wrapped it foil. Inquire about off-menu items!

For those in the know, There’s a reason to go. Let me break it down now: They don’t have a cow, Because there is no meat. It’s a vegeterian’s place to eat. Quesadilla or burrito, your two choices, Both will make those around you have no voices. Sit on a bench and enjoy the summer, For when they leave at the end it will be a major bummer. More than just a simple treat, The prices and quality can’t be beat. You’ll be yelling«I’m so full!» at about halfway Make your choice then, either go or stay. Lunch or brunch, 12 – 5 The burrito stand is simply divine. They even have a dog! Maybe I’ll write him a song…
