Golden Eagle Lodge

The people at the golden eagle are amazing and super helpful. The rooms are clean and it is in a great location. Highly recommend this hotel.

I have been staying at the Golden Eagle Lodge for the past two years. The owners are very kind and accommodating. It’s a great place to spend the weekend. Lots of space and a kitchen with all appliances. We love coming back to the rooms after a day of skiing to unwind. Definitely recommend this lodge for a Red River experience!

This place isn’t a bad place to stay for a night or 2. I wouldn’t spend my whole vacation here. Our room was equipped with a king bed, a larger dorm fridge, a TV, and a bathroom with a small shower stall. Definitely adequate for a place to sleep. The walls are thin, so you can hear all of your neighbor’s «festivities.» There was no fan in the room, so it’s a sleep-​with-​the-​window open place in the summer. They said there was WIFI, but there was only 1 network that could be picked up in the room and it wasn’t one of the 2 networks that they provided a password for. There is room to park a trailer, which is nice given all of the off-​roading in Red River.
The biggest problem is with the water temperature control. It swings from scalding hot to frigid repeatedly with not much time anywhere in between. I assume several units are tied together, but the shower was unbearable.
All in all, they charge an appropriate rate for the amenities and the area.

I have stayed at the Golden Eagle twice — Oct 2012 and July 2014 — and was very pleased with both stays. Rates are reasonable, and in my experience rooms are well-​maintained, quiet, very comfortable and clean, with TV, dorm refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeemaker. There is also a Great Room (common area) with comfortable sofa/​chairs, flat-​screen TV, books and magazines. The Owner/​manager (Jerry) is local, friendly, attentive, and responsive, and so are his staff members. I will definitely return to the Golden Eagle.

Horrible place to stay — don’t waste your time or money. It is old and the wifi is always being repaired. The managers seem to have an «excuse» for keeping the place looking like a dump. I don’t mean to be harsh, but I feel that people staying in such a nice town deserve better. The room we stayed in was in need of many repairs and more than a few updates! We booked this place because it was dog friendly, but our dogs also truly deserve better.

Excellent staff, a great place to stay. Close to all activities but no noise.

Love this place! It’s not the nicest or cheaper but rooms are comfortable and cozy and well furnished! If you are looking 4 a nice, clean, reasonably priced hotel with wifi, you can’t beat Golden Eagle Lodge!

I stay here at least 3 to 4 times a year for the last 4 – 5 years, all seasons. Warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Owner manager on site and very attentive. Full range of room sizes/​types. I would classify it as a very nice 60’s– 70’s style motel format with accommodations from motel room to full 3 bed room apartment.
