Great place for good drinks, fair prices, and great people to meet. Off the beaten path but a gem to discover. Right across the street from the Cascade Theatre makes it a perfect stop before concerts, plays, etc. Taco Tuesday is fun and the Sunday afternoon regulars are always welcoming to friends and strangers alike.

This is a beautiful bar and the people are always happy and smiling. The drinks are always great and there is always a new drink being made here. Always great bar tenders in this place that make this bar what it is!

With a new, fun and energetic bar staff, Capone’s is a great place to grab a drink with your friends, family and even co-workers! During the week it’s a nice mellow vibe where you can unwind after a long day. On the weekends get your dancing shoes on because they have 2 great dj’s and a new DANCE room! We LOVE Capone’s!

I’ve been going to Capone’s for years. I always go with friends and have a great time(for this reason, I don’t have much to say about the other clientele). Their service has always been good and getting drinks isn’t a problem. The last time we went my boyfriend’s bottled Bud Light was kind of flat. Expiration date on it was a few months old, but no big deal. I’m sure if we had said something they would have let us switch it out for another drink, but again, it wasn’t worth fussing about. For those of you who love to fuss and complain, check your bottle’s date before drinking it.

The Stalker Club of Redding(S.C.O.R.) was out again searching for that perfect Bar here in Redding. We all decided to revisit the famous Capone’s downtown and none of us were disappointed. We were greeted by a very beautiful and pleasant Bartender by the name of Rhonda just like the song. Rhonda was so pleasant, outgoing and funny we all did not want to leave, Capone’s was not bad itself. With 10 Beers on tap 4TV’s large clean serving area we had a great time. Pricing is probably the cheapest in town for happy hour. $ 2.25 for 16 oz domestic beers $ 2.25 for Bottles and pitchers $ 6.25 and $ 3.25 for your fancy beers. This is right up the Stalker Club price for a Happy Hour in Town. It runs from 3PM to 7PM and 5PM to 7PM on weekends. The Stalker Club of Redding highly recommends Capone“s for an afternoon. Rhonda will take care of you and you won’t be disappointed. Our rating for this great bar is Six out of a Six Pack

Great bar! Very clean, excellent drinks, great vibe. I always have a great time when I come here! Always our first stop when we have dinner downtown or go to a show at the cascade. The happy hour is great too! It goes until 7:00 everyday:) I have read a few bad reviews for this place and I’m not getting it. I have never had bad service or a bad drink.

I’ve shit-mouthed Capone’s in a couple of other reviews since posting my overly enthusiastic original four-star review. I was talked into going in for a drink last night before a show at the Cascade because it was suggested(correctly) that the Oakland A’s wildcard game would be on the TV. Okay. Time for an update. I took a look at the unremarkable lineup of beers on tap and decided to order a whiskey sour. Teacher Lady wanted a glass of red wine, and when I asked about their selection of zinfandels, the response was, «White zin?» No, red. «We have a cab and a merlot.» Two red wines — not a good sign. I went with the cab. My whiskey sour came up fast, and it was nearly as clear as vodka. Uh oh. I took a couple of sips, and it tasted like a tumbler of simple syrup on the rocks, with the faintest splash of well bourbon. Literally undrinkable. Not just the worst whiskey sour I’ve ever had(and I’ve had some god-awful whiskey sours), but easily the worst cocktail I’ve ever had. Not wanting to waste a year’s supply of insulin on one hyperglycemia-inducing whiskey sour, I push the cocktail back and order a beer. As I said, the selection wasn’t much to speak of, but there was an American pale ale that I hadn’t tried before, and I ordered it. The bartender seemed stoned — I’m basing that solely on her pace and attention to detail — so I kept an eye on her as she pulled my beer to be sure it was coming from the right tap. She got it right, but it didn’t look like a typical coppery pale ale. I took a sip. Bud Light. Not wanting to trust entirely in my own shitty attitude, I passed it around, asking, «What is this?». «Bud Light,» according to one companion. «Coors Light,» said the other. «Sparkling rice water,» said Teacher Lady. Yeah. The tap for the pale ale I ordered was attached to a keg of Bud Fucking Light. The only question is this: Is the piss-poor, watery cocktail and the selling of cheap-ass Bud Light as a craft beer a result of gross incompetence? Or is it by design, to increase profit margins? I’m not one to lightly throw around accusations of outright greed and dishonesty, so I’m going with don’t-give-a-shit incompetence.

The beer was great just what I was in need of. Older crowd but definitely a good place to start your bar adventures. Drink a cold one here then check out surrounding bars. #Thirsty

I like Capones, the ownership here has taken over a dive bar that catered to down and outers and fixed it up. Now it’s a pretty cool hipster place, it’s got that retro look I like in a bar. The crowd here is fun and lively, more educated than most Redding bars I would say. The drinks are generous, they have nice happy hour, a fair number of good beers on tap. I like the service. They treat you well here. The owner of the bar owns several downtown places now — he has helped re-invigorate the downtown scene, downtown Redding increasingly rocks, you’ve got foot traffic you didn’t used to have, so I applaud the owner for doing that. The community as a whole benefits when you have thriving nightlife downtown, money circulates, people are employed, I think places like Capone are vital.

The Wednesday night progressive pitcher happy hour is a great deal. We paid $ 3 for microbrew pitchers starting at 7pm. We heard about the happy hour through and are glad we went!

«Noise level: Quiet» HUH? it’s always been very loud, and very crowded whenever I’ve gone in. the drinks are okay, once you get the attention of the bartender or cocktail waitress. Not a bad place, but just a little too busy for my tastes. Love the décor, but seating is awful. standing room only doesn’t make for a very relaxing atmosphere. I have to honestly say, you can tell the downtown bars that are owned by the same people a little too easily. Not a real«variety» factor here.

I lied. I actually ended up going back to Capone’s after my scathing review and it wasn’t half bad. The drinks I ordered were much better and we were served much better. They must have had rookie angst or something. The best addition to this place is the new Rico’s Taco truck that parks outside later in the night.

I went here for the first time last night and had a great time… The music they played was great, and varied. It was Sunday, and there really weren’t very many people there(I think that we were 2 of maybe 8 people that night), but it was still great. The place is very laid back and comfortable, the ambiance is great, and overall it’s very clean. I will say that we were caught a bit off guard when the music stopped and all of a sudden, live music started playing!!! The drinks were very fairly priced and the bartender was great(not to mention, incredibly pretty)!!! I had a great time and will defiantly go again!

I was really excited when Capone’s opened because I like Market Street Steakhouse and thought it would add a much-needed«hip» bar to downtown. The furnishings are very nice and modern. The service at this bar is horrid. My friend met a group of us for a «girls night out» and waited over 10 minutes for a drink. When the air-headed, barely-old-enough-to-serve alcohol hostess was finally flagged-down, she said, «They’ve been really busy,» rather than admitting that she forgot to order the drink at the bar. The bar only had about 10 patrons at this time(other than our group). I am disappointed in the service and the drinks are very expensive. I will not be going back to Capone’s again.

I love the low chairs and tables… it’s a nice relaxed place to visit and have a nice conversation with people. I like the look of the place too. I think $ 15 for a martini and a beer was a little much… even if my glass of beer was $ 5… $ 10 for a very weak lemon drop is laughable. The bartender with the tattoos was the biggest jerk ever(I was also told he was part owner)… I’m a decent looking female, so I don’t think it’s a gender bias as another person noted… he just seemed irritated to be there and was not friendly what-so-ever. Something else that was laughable was their VIP section… It’s basically a big bench in the back of the bar… why even bother? So I will probably go there again, and try my best to avoid Mr. I-Don’t-Want-To-Be-Bothered-By-You… only because it is a pretty chill place. Come on Kenny, you can do better… even in Redding.

Your drinks are delicious. I’ve never had a problem with the service. Every time I’ve gone the crowd is always diverse, which is nice. The theme is great, plus you can order appetizers from Vintage and they will be delivered to you.

Thank you Capone’s for sticking to what you advertise — a laid back lounge atmosphere with great drinks and bartenders. The crowd is older and the ambiance fits the theme of this lounge. I call it a lounge instead of a bar because it has a touch-of-class feel. I’m a huge fan of the $ 5 double Jaeger Bombs. Capone’s is a great place to start the night with a group of friends, get loaded on the $ 5 Jaeger Bombs and maybe a Blue Moon or two, then head out for some more of Redding’s astounding nightlife(tinge of sarcasm there).
