Unless you have a lengthy criminal history or a patch wearing biker this place may not be for you, might not be safest choice either. Continues to go down hill so won’t be too long before the place will be history

Trashy & overpriced. The drinks are always weak & I only go there because Redding has no night life.

Everyone is really friendly. They have a good beer selection for reasonable prices. I’ve only ever been at The Castle when there is karaōke and its been a great time.

Tuesday through Friday nights is when you’ll get Steve as your bartender and he rocks!!! His bar tricks are insane!!! Cheryl is your daytime bartender with years of experience and a beautiful smile. Ryan is just hilarious! Great bar, great people. Love this place. The owner Carmelo and his kick ass daughter really know how to keep a clean bar with great prices

First off i come here everyday beacuse my girlfriend works across at the savory spoon let me just say the lady that work the days there that is older is down right rude made pay to use the restroom when waiting in the parking lot an aslo refuse service supposedly banned me from the just for simpley asking to use the restroom i then overed to buy some chips even though im so tight on money this is unacceptable winder how the owner would feel

I’ve been a regular customer for 7 years. The new female bartender is rude and snarky.
I recently sent some out of town friends that way, knowing is a great local bar. Unfortunately, Ms snarky McSnarkyton was working and practically ran our friends out, claiming her Texas ID wasn’t valid!
Not to be mean but I hope she quits or gets fired!
I want my local watering hole back, hopefully they notice the hundreds of dollars they are losing a week.

Anyone who has worked in the redding bar scene will tell you they love this place but its not the food, drinks, or patrons… It’s the staff! So friendly and awesome. I will continue going here as long as I can.

Steve is theeee shittttt always a great time. Love watching him serve it up karaōke night is always wild… Love this joint I guess they do food now too that’s awesome. One of my fav hang outs for sure!

Nice place! I love the smoking area because i can bring my drink out! I also love how spaced the tables are. The bartenders are always friendly and are pretty entertaining! I really enjoy this bar, it always seems to be a laid back crowd! No crazy drunks here! :)

Great neighborhood bar. Lots of locals and regular characters. Bartenders are really fun folks. Often refer to the Castle as my second living room.

Wow… terrible! Was looking for a good locals spot recently while in town, was referred here by a local at hotel bar who said this place was great. Got there only to find a dilapidated run down dirty bar (bathrooms were even worse!), but an unbelievable ratio of white trash and was even offered methamphetamine. Despite all this I was there for a drink and still gave it a shot, ordered a Jack and coke and got an incredibly weak drink with a huge price tag, I live in San Fran so I’m used to high prices but this was bad! So I gave up on the booze and decided I’d try the food… worst bar food EVER! Then when I asked to see the menu again (was still going to pay for the crap I got), I end up with some tall lanky guy with gauged ears who seemed drunk in front of me asking in an aggressive way what was wrong with my food. Was later told he was in charge of the kitchen, unbelievably rude! Ended up at 3 or 4 other bars in Redding that trip, all of which were night and day better! AVOID this place unless you’re looking for bad food, weak overpriced drinks, rude service, or drugs. I love dive bars, but this place was BAD even for biker bar standards… 1^st impressions are everything and this place was terrible

On a afternoon outing the Stalker club of Redding (S.C.O.R.) made a stop by one of our home bases the Castle Lounge on Hartnell. In our reviews we cannot be prejudice but here at the Castle is a very pretty bartender named little Chrystal. She is always giving great service with a smile and with the bar having great ambiance it is a good place to go on an afternoon. the bar has great and plenty of seating and features a lot of TVs to watch. Pricing is good with a lot of specials. We give this bar a four out of a six pack. go on a Monday and ask for Chrystal.

This was a pretty cool place to drink, although expensive. The music was nice and loud, and there are a couple dart boards, pool tables, and interactive eat your dollar video machines. The bartender was pretty cool too, and it was fun to watch her throw out some fools because he didn’t know how old he was.
The problem I had here was the drink price for a beer, and I do understand on the sign it does say what time it’s at the cheaper price, but the writing’s so small on the poster that you don’t notice it as you make a rush for the door going in.
All in all this is a pretty ok place and I’ll probably go back again at some point. If nothing else, it seems to be a good place to see someone make a fool out of themselves…
