Not only was my food mind blowing fresh delicious and a great price but the service was amazing. The sauce that comes with the geisha roll… Is actually blow torched on the top to give it this creamy burnt flavor it’s amazing… The sushi pieces are so big and thick and cold and delicious the way that SUSHI should be! It’s a great price all you can eat at dinner. I just ate there last night and I’m actually on my way again this morning! That’s how amazing this food is! Anybody who talks shit about this place does not know their Mongolian Grill and does not know what truly good mind-blowing sushi should look and taste like! If you do not eat here you are truly missing out on one of the great gems in Redding California! I would eat here everyday if I could… no lie!!!

First time at Coco’s and was very satisfied with our meal and superb service from the staff. We had the Mongolian BBQ and it was delicious. I highly recommend this relatively new eatery in the Redding area. Thanks Coco’s

I wasn’t overly impressed but it was not terrible either. There are a few things that could definitely be improved. 1. The waitress was extremely quiet nor very helpful. 2. Don’t seat people near the front door when customers continually leave it open to the cold. The guy with the glasses was the only one that took notice and kept closing it. 3. It would be nice to have a fish or shrimp option for the bbq, especially since they already have sushi in house. 4. I would have liked to have more sauce options.

This place is and will continue to be one of my absolute favorite places to eat. Ive really mastered the sauces and I think every time I go in my bowls get better and better. I really love their newest addition to the sauce family they have(orange sauce) great idea! It was pretty busy when I went in but the staff really did well I commend them for all of their hard work! !!

We have been to CoCo’s several times for the Mongolian grill. Food items are fresh and the variety is good. I’m into vegetarian so I enjoy the excellent tofu. Food is cooked quickly on the grill with a variety of chosen sauces and the results are excellent. The egg flower soup is delicious. The green tea the best I have every had and they were kind enough to send me home with a sample of the tea. I found the organic green tea from Prince of Peace online and promptly ordered some. We can’t speak to the sushi as we have never had it. The atmosphere is very pleasant, clean and spacious. If healthy eating matters, CoCo’s fits the bill.

My first time at CoCo Mongolian Grill & Sushi was fantastic! The setting was spacious and fitting for parties of all sizes. The staff was quick, friendly, and attentive. As soon as our party of 3 entered the restaurant, we were quickly seated at the comfortable booths near the Mongolian BBQ. The Mongolian BBQ was delicious. We each grabbed and filled an empty bowl with a wide assortment of uncooked meats – chicken, beef, turkey, pork, lamb – and fresh vegetables – onions, corn, bell peppers, celery, and much, much more. There were many options for seasoning with a large sign suggesting different combinations. I have a low tolerance for spicy foods, so I chose a milder combination. After filling our bowls with meats, vegetables, and spices, we gave them to the friendly chefs who cooked our personalized bowls on a gigantic, flat grill. It was a meal and a show! My bowl turned out well-seasoned, although I probably could have used a little less of the sauces. Fortunately, this is an all-you-can-eat Mongolian BBQ, so I was able to test a variety of seasoning combinations. Even though I was stuffed from the Mongolian BBQ, I still had my eyes and stomach set on sushi. The plates of sushi served at the tables around us were mouthwatering. I had to have a plate. They offer a wide variety of sushi rolls, and I settled on the Hungry Roll. How ironic. When the plate arrived, I was amazed by its large portion. In my previous experiences with sushi in other restaurants, I could finish one piece in one bite. Here, the pieces were so large that I had to take 2 to 3 bites to finish. The ratio of filling to rice was also very high so that each bite was full of shrimp, crab, avocado, and eel. I was very impressed. Despite being incredibly full from the Mongolian BBQ, I’m embarrassed to say that I was also the one in my party to eat the most sushi pieces. But I have no regrets! I enjoyed CoCo’s, and I will definitely return again. I’m looking forward to trying more seasonings and more of their amazing sushi!

Went to eat dinner on a Saturday night for the very first time. We were seated right away however, our waitress was definitely lacking in customer service. She was very passive, didn’t explain the process, didn’t seem eager to assist us. We ordered one sushi roll for my 4 year old daughter, and my husband and I decided to go with the BBQ Mongolian noodles. The waitress failed to mention the roll I ordered came with a spicy sauce — the cook had to remake the sushi roll with out the sauce. The BBQ noodles were very good, the serving area was clean, and the cook was polite. The rest of the establishment was also up to par in regards to cleanliness. Although the waitress didn’t provide the best service, the BBQ Noodles were tasty. I will definitely come again, and hope to be seated with a better server.

0 stars! Worst experience ever! I took my husband tonight for his bday along with a group of friends. We were never offered refills for our drinks and i waited for napkins for 30 minutes. The BBQ wasn’t bad but the sushi my cousin ordered was disgusting! It tasted like coleslaw. She politely let the waitress know she did not like the sushi and gave it back. The waitress told her to just keep it on the table and never said anything about it. So my cousin asks another waitress who says she will talk to the manager, she never comes back. So when we get the bill the sushi is still on the bill. The woman tells us that she can not take the item off the bill because she will lose money and someone has to pay for it. Though they took the sushi back she said we could take it home with us. We said we didn’t want to take it home because we didn’t like it. She continued to say that since we ordered it, whether we liked it or not we had to pay, even if we did not eat it. My husband who is a chef said that was not good customer service, we came with 9 people and enjoyed the rest of the food, and had brought in a lot of business. A waitress who was not involved stepped in and very rudely said if we didn’t like it we shouldn’t have ordered it as of we knew we would not like it. The woman even threatened to call the police when we were calm and respectful the entire time. Extremely unprofessional, from a sushi lover… disgusting sushi, horrible customer service. I have never been so offended and feel we were wrongly treated simply because we were people color. I will never go back!

This was my third time eating at Coco’s. Each time my wife had the BBQ and I had Sushi/Sashimi. Each experience resulted in great food and attentive service. Today I had the Colorful roll which consists of a very generous sized hand roll cut into eight huge mouthful sized rolls with alternating tuna, salmon, albacore and snapper Sashimi layed beautifully on top of each single roll with avocado. Inside was a giant stuffing of crab and sweet cream cheese with crunchy veggies wrapped with nori. Everything was extremely fresh and expertly prepared. Our waitress who was either an owner or manager made sure to we had all we needed and we’re satisfied with the quality of the food. We told her we were very satisfied. I get the impression that they are very proud of their product and take great care to be sure their customers are happy. I noticed a number of poor reviews here on Unilocal.I understand that no place is perfect. We live in Redding and have eaten at the other similar places both BBQ& Sushi in the area. Each has its own personality that makes one person prefer one place over another. That aside though, we have not experienced any of the negatives described in the reviews and the meals & service we’ve had stack up against the others tit for tat. In fact, as far as quantity Cocos gives the most bang for the buck. We’ll be back for a fourth time again soon…

It’s the sushi, mate. We’ve been here several times now for the grill. We’re always happy with it. Good, fresh ingredients, good service(I love Rosemary) and a pleasant atmosphere. Sushi? I admit I was slow to try it. I was afraid it was like those Asian buffets where the sushi seems little but a sad afterthought. But one day, Rosemary talked my son and me into trying a California roll. Pedestrian beginner sushi, right? Well, no. My son and I agreed that we’d never had a California roll that good. We returned to try other sushi, including unagi, my wife’s favorite, and we were further delighted. I have nothing against the other Mongolian grill across town; it’s good too. But, with the quality of the sushi at CoCo offering such a tempting option, Coco is now our go-to place.

The food was delicious. I was really impressed with the selection of fresh vegetables, meats, and variety of sauces. The place was clean(with the exception of the area directly in front of the sauces) and the and grill operators were efficient and polite. The place was crowded but it was a Friday night and they had just opened and so I am not going to fault them for either. We experienced a billing error on our credit card, but I was very impressed with the management and their quick investigation and remedy of this accidental computer error. I am looking forward to returning in the future.

Being in the service industry and knowing what an impact Unilocal reviews have on people’s jobs I want to embark on a mission to change the way things are reviewed. More often than not a review is made because someone has something negative to say about their experience. How about for a change we try to focus on the positive things and maybe realize that there are many obstacles that go on behind the scenes or in between shifts that you don’t even realize! So please, be mindful! This afternoon I decided I wanted to walk somewhere to get in some exercise but I also wanted a worthy destination, «sushi» my brain says so I pull up my map on my phone to find the nearest place. Coco’s pops up. Eh, new business, sushi, 1.5 miles sure yeah, whatever. I arrive at exactly 4:00pm unfortunately missing their lunch special. That’s okay I was there for sushi anyway but I will be back for one of those bowls because they looked phenomenal. The first server I had was ending her shift and after bringing my water she politely let me know her shift was ending and she would be handing me over to someone else, thank you for that! I was meeting my partner there for lunch and he ended up getting the Mongolian style grill which is a killer deal and so much food it’s insane. I ordered an avocado roll and an asparagus roll from a very sweet and helpful server who was able to answer all of my questions as to what vegan options were available. She even brought out half rolls instead of full ones because I had no idea how big they would be, it was very kind of her, thank you!(I did not get her name but she deserves recognition for her polite and prompt service). I also had the pleasure of meeting Rosemary who might I add is just a beautiful beacon of light and you can tell that she really cares for the guest who are coming in to dine. She brought out my second round of sushi(I ended up needing full rolls of both because they were just THAT good). Literally the best sushi I’ve had in Redding without hesitation! I haven’t been in Redding for long but I’ve visited three other restaurants on the quest for the perfect veggie sushi and I have finally found it. All in all, service was excellent and the food was much better than expected. I will absolutely be back. Oh! And compliments to the Chef as well, the rice to vegetable ratio was perfect. One thing I will add and I wouldn’t even say it’s a negative thing is since it was my first time dining here and I was slightly confused with the Mongolian style bar maybe upon entering ask guest if they are familiar with the idea and if not, just explain :). And thank you again to all the beautiful ladies who served me! It was wonderful!

This is my second time here and my husband’s first time. I love the food here and now they have the big fat noodles. Really reminds me of Hula’s in Chico. I really like it better than kahuna’s. I hope everyone gives it a try!

A decadent meal. I specifically ordered the BBQ special for $ 9.50 included rice, soup, and an appetizer. And of course, a delicious Mongolian bowl. You choose from a variety of meats, veggies, and sauces. No limit, so you can fill as much as you can. The bowl of ingredients is then spun around on a large round hot surface. So delicious. Also order spicy tuna sushi for $ 12.50. They also offer a dinner special where you can have as many Mongolian bowls as you want. Staff was very nice and attentive. Highly recommend.
