I bought a mattress from Cresons Mattress Gallary three and a half years ago. The mattress was a Nexus Gel Mattress. I’ve had nothing but problems with the mattress with no help from Steve, the owner. Steve says he gives a six month guarantee, but he will come up with every excuse in the world not to honor the warranty. I called Steve after a month explaining the mattress was not supporting me. Steve came out and put blankets under the mattress and told me I simply needed to get used to it. Steve also said there was nothing he could do about it since the former owner still owned the store at the time I purchased the mattress. I explained to Steve the former owner, Chuck Creson, was my brother-in-law and I knew when he retired and when he sold the business to Steve. Steve owned the store when I purchased the mattress. Steve had nothing more to say. My mattress came with a ten(10) warranty on it. BEWARE! Read the fine print on the back of your receipt. This is actually a manufacture warranty. I only had the mattress for three and a half years and now it’s like sleeping in a bowl. Here’s the kicker. Steve purchases mattresses from outside the United States, ie.; Canada, Australia. When I contacted the City of Redding about the problem, they only handle restaurants, not mattress sales. They referred me to Consumer Affairs. Since the manufacture is outside of the United Stated, Consumer Affairs has no jurisdiction. So, you have no recourse. I asked Steve about a refund on the mattress. Steve claimed he didn’t know where the manufacture was. So, I started doing research myself to get an address and phone number for the manufacture which was Nexus. Nexus knew Steve purchased the mattress from them — he obviously has an account with them. They only refund to the store where you bought the mattress. When I presented this information to Steve, he said he would try to get the refund for me, BUT he already did two refunds so I would have to wait because the company wouldn’t work with him since he already did two refunds. Steve informed me I had to use the refund at Cresons towards another mattress, like I would trust him!?! When my husband and I went in to talk to Steve about another mattress, he presented a low quality mattress to us, and wanted an extra $ 1000.00 for it after I spent $ 3200.00 for the original mattress. I just wanted a quality mattress and since my brother-in-law used to own the business I assumed I would be treated right. Oh, Steve was going to charge me for disposing the original mattress. …and another thing, when Steve’s sons delivered the mattress they wanted an extra $ 20.00 bucks for the handling the mattress. You can understand what I have gone through with Steve and Cresons Mattress. I WOULDNEVERRECOMMENDANYONETOPURCHASEATCRESONSMATTRESSGALLARY!!! Another thing, document your complaints by email or some other means to verify and document the conversations you had with Steve. When I continued to remind Steve that I had been complaining about the mattress after a month of purchasing it, Steve informed me, «You didn’t say anything to me until a few weeks ago, I have it on my computer.» …with a straight face. The guy is a shark! You can see what I have been through with this business and Steve. Go to another mattress retailer in Redding. After talking to several mattress companies I learned the mattress I bought was way over-priced. Steve also sold me a mattress cover saying it kept you cool at night because it was make out of wool. That didn’t last either. Steve asked if I had washed it. I said«Yes, of course I wash my mattress covers». Steve said this«type of mattress cover should be put out in the sun to re-fluff it, not wash it. After all, have you ever seen a flat sheep?» The more I think about this, I honestly believe the mattress Steve sold me was a used mattress, why else would a mattress break down that quickly. May I add, we are senior citizens

These guys are seriously great! I bought a bed from them back in September, and was so impressed by their straightforwardness and honest salesmanship that I went back today to buy a second bed from them. Today, happily, I got the same interaction. Steven in incredible, and such a real guy! I will continue to take my business there! Straightforward, honest, real, and true! I can’t say enough good about them!

Recently purchased a mattress here and we are very happy with the service as well as the product. Service at the store was helpful without being overwhelming and delivery was prompt and friendly. Would highly recommend considering this place for your next purchase.

I am impressed with the fantastic customer service at Cresons. I manage a vacation home about an hour out of Redding. This weekend I had guests who jumped on the master bed so hard it literally shattered the bed and frame. I called Lance at Cresons and he was able to deliver a new bed and remove the old broken one within 2 hours of my call. He was pleasant to work with and my home is ready for the next guest to check in. Fast, pleasant and great quality!

Went to Cresons and wanted to buy a Sealey Posturpedic Mattress. Owner said the size I wanted would take a week to order. He said he had another Sealey in stock,(Sealey Posture Premier), which was 2 grades better than the Posturepedic. He said he would sell it to me for the same price as the Posturepedic, and would not charge sales tax if I paid cash and didn’t need a receipt. He again repeated that it was 2 grades better than the Posturepedic. I bought the mattress. After I got home I researched it on the Internet. The mattress he sold me is a cheaper grade than the Posturepedic. It also only has a 3 year warranty, compared to the Posturepedic having a 10 year warranty. I am reporting him to the State of CA for Sales Tax Fraud, and will cooperate with them in their investigation. I have a witness. Never buy anything from this store.
