Just had a Pulled Pork sandwich here and it was great. Plenty big enough and lots of flavor. My wife had a wrap and my son had a teriyaki bowl. Both of their things looked great too.

Put a order in to go this morning. Waited over 20 minutes in line to pay because they had one poor girl working register while 4 of her co workers sat and chatted. Got home my biscuits looked as if it was half eaten my omelet was supposed to be egg whites it was normal eggs they forgot potatoes, one and a half pieces of bacon. Food was ice cold very disappointed I have eaten here in the past and it has always been good. Maybe under new management or something.

Stopped in on a road trip and wanted to find something healthier than our usual drive through. This place hit the spot! Really great barbecue chicken salad and their pastries and sandwiches looked amazing. It’s in a gas station parking lot, but don’t let that fool you. This place would do well in SF, and I’d be happy if they opened another location there :).

We ordered four orders of the Eggs Benedict and by the time it made it to our table it was all cold. When we told the woman at counter she insisted we bring it back, so we did. The cooks were visibly annoyed by this. When we got our food back all they had done was throw the plate in the microwave, orange slice and all. This meant the hollandaise was totally separated, the bread was soggy and everything was overall disappointing.

At first I was very impressed with the attentiveness of the people taking orders. Always treated in a friendly and respectful manner. However the chef took a dislike to me because I order my food with no onions as my body reacts badly to raw onions and leaves me in bad shape for two to three days. Too high a price to pay for eating them. The first teriyaki bowl I ordered came with green onions all through it. I took it back to the chef and indicated that there were too many to just pick them out and would he fix it. He huffed his displeasure and made a new one and I enjoyed the bowl. The next day my buddy and I ordered the same dish. I ordered mine without onions. When the two were served mine was much smaller than my buddies and looked like it was made from the one he’d thrown out the day before. The chicken was tough and cold and the dish was just plain ugly. «dog’s breakfast» comes to mind. I suspect the cook was getting even with me as it’s pretty clear from other reviews that at least one of the chef’s has anger problems and are not shy about letting customers know they are pissed. My buddies was fresh and tasty with lots of chicken. Looked like a full meal where mine looked like it had been scraped off the floor and thrown to the plate with about 1⁄3 of it missing. Nobody would have guessed they were the same order if they’d seen the difference. Supposedly the only difference was one of them was not smothered in green onions. Not so. I recall the chef had been very disrespectful in his attitude when I’d asked for him to get rid of the onions. He served the new plate with an attitude of what looked to me like restrained rage as he curtly set it on the table and walked away without a word. No friendliness or any consideration that I’d actually ordered it with no onions. It was as if I’d insulted his entire way of living by not wanting onions. I have not had the courage to go back there since then as I’m not a fan of being treated like an undesirable for sending food back because it was not what I’d ordered. Just moved to Redding two months ago and this was looking to be a local hangout for me as I only live a few hundred yards away. However I prefer to be treated with reasonable respect when the problem is not my fault. But I don’t want a chef serving me who has anger problems with people that don’t eat the food the way HE thinks it ought to be served. Sad because the efforts of the management to make good food and good service are so obvious I feel badly for both me(afraid to go there again) and this café(for scaring away people like me). With a disrespectful chef(I was always respectful to him) I don’t see how they can achieve their goals. If I was rating this place aside from the chef I had to deal with I would give it four stars which is my top rating for non-organic restaurants. [I reserve five stars only for restaurants that make an effort to use organic ingredients or at least attempt to avoid GMO foods — but that’s just my personal thing.] PS. Tried calling the manager in the hope of finding common ground and negotiating better treatment when orders are not delivered as ordered. Left a message for him/her, but no return call. I dropped my review by one star for not returning calls from customers within two weeks.

We just had breakfast, and food was below average. Gravy on the biscuit was salty. Toast was not toasted, and bacon was burnt. The décor is cute, and staff seemed friendly.

Great place to hang out, very peaceful. Coffee Isn’t my favorite but it’s decent. Food is pretty tasty, I usually have their breakfast sandwich with roasted potatoes for breakfast and their pastries for me are okay, they tend to be dry. Btw I am rating this a four star because I enjoy coming here so I highly recommend this place to anyone thinking about eating here or wanting a tasty breakfast.

PROS: I am able to walk there from where I live. It shares space with a gas station, but the inside is very comfy, great lighting. CONS: I really just wanted some eggs with diced tomatoes, nothing else. The eggs were fine, but they put some canned seasoned diced tomatoes on top which looked more like salsa(I’m not a salsa fan). The fourth star is only because their downtown drive-thru location is awesome, and I hope to give this place another chance.

For Redding this is a really great place. Lattes are great, tea selection is great, fun variety of cold drinks. LOVE the salads. They offer small or large size too. The breakfast is really pretty good. Mostly I love the employees and atmosphere. Although lunches, pastries, sour dough bread, and lattes pretty much rock. Check it out a peaceful yet busy place

Big fan! Best croissants in town and LOVE to get their portabello reuben, breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, and any of their tea drinks. The staff is always super friendly and the place is always clean. I visit all the FTH locations quite often and I’m never disappointed. Keep up the good work, guys.

My friend bought me one of their Raspberry Cheese Danishes, and let me tell you– it was the best party I have ever eaten! Better than danishes I’ve eaten in Seattle, New York, and Paris! Amazinggggg!

I must say that from the Hearth has great tasting espresso drinks, and all the better that the espresso is organic! I decided to start coming to this café because I heard they had almond milk, so this has been a great option for me! However, I usually come in just past 7am right when they open, and many times have been the first customer, with no waiting in line. Even then, it takes them about 15 – 20 minutes just to make my drink! When I finally get it, it always feels cold! So lately I’ve been asking them to make it «extra hot», but even then, I have to wait about 20 min until I get to work to microwave it before I even drink it, and it’s just not the same. I’ve never ordered breakfast, but their pastries are pretty great. They are delivered to them every morning, but often times they don’t have them«until later». Overall I like the coffee, but the service and wait time is ridiculous.

Yay! From the Hearth has become my favorite café! 1. Pretty good music. 2. The food quality and consistency has improved. 9 times out of 10 it’s a win. When it’s not, they are quick to fix it. 3. They offer almond milk as a milk substitute(just say no to soy) 4. Best breakfast in town… hands down. 5. Found a mushroom soup substitute… chicken corn vegetable chowder. Scrumptious. Color Me Happy
