Just had a fantastic lunch here! It reminds me of a locally owned, yummier Panera. I had the Chi rice bowl with grilled tofu and umami sauce($ 7.95); husband had the Greek salad, which was loaded with olives, feta, tomatoes, banana peppers and a great dressing(around $ 10). It came out quickly. A great value. Wish we lived in the area — we would come back!

Absolutely the best spicy eggs bennadict ever. On homemade sour dough bread with jalapeños and avacado. Loved every bite. Staff are very nice as well. A must go in Redding Ca.

Love when my days start with a breakfast from the hearth. Staffs always friendly and food comes out rather quickly. One of my favorite spots to go hands down. Very comfortable atmosphere with outdoor seating as well. I’ve only had one bad experience here when they were busy, everyone was flustered, food took a long time and came out wrong. If it’s busy you may want to try somewhere else

One wonderfully consistent aspect of From the Hearth is their pleasing special dishes. Last week we came here during a time when they offered an alternative to the usual Chi bowl special — a shrimp bowl(over rice) reminiscent of Southern cuisine. It was a tough choice between that and their other special(which I tried), a frankfurter with loads of toppings(I believe it was called the«Dirty Dog»). This was the first time I elected to have their coleslaw as a side dish and THAT was some great coleslaw — a perfect pairing with the flavorful, mildly spicy frankfurter. I’ve heard that daily specials in the restaurant scene tend to be a creative way for restaurants to reassemble and sell leftover, about-to-perish, food products and ingredients used in their main fare. However, I really don’t think this is the case at From the Hearth, since shrimp and frankfurters aren’t featured as part of their regular menu. The special dishes, whatever they are, always look and taste fresh, introduce a completely new dish, and come with an attractive presentation.

This restaurant is great for meeting friends for breakfast, lunch or business meetings. The staff are super and one is always greeted with a smile. I love the food, especially the«black & bleu salad». And I love their bear claws! Jay is a great member of the team that keeps the quality going right on track. Love them all!

I really want to love this place, but it’s just not happening. The service is equatable to a fast food restaurant, but the prices are more for sit-down. Last time I was there, I ordered eggs Benedict with potatoes. My potatoes were cold, and my eggs were raw. Not merely«sunny side up», but clear, slimey raw. When I pointed it out to an employee, he nodded and said«ok», and just looked at me. After about 15 seconds of silence, he asked if I wanted a coupon to come back. Um, no, I won’t be back!

Thanks for creating such a diverse menu of incredible goodness! But is there anyway you can offer brown rice with the rice bowls?

This place has really good drinks and pretty good food. However, every single time I go in there something that I love and/or really wanted to try keeps being taken off the menu. As well as every time I’ve gone in the last couple of months my food has been made very sloppily. I understand that they’re busy and I hope they get more help in the kitchen so that food can be made properly.

I’ve been to this location twice and have had great meals both times! The California Chicken sandwich is wonderful and the Black & Bleu salad is to die for. I put this as one of my top favorite places to eat in Redding!

My wife and I made an attempt to purchase pastries for our offices. We arrived around 0710hrs, plenty early to get what we needed, so it seemed. The person behind the counter didn’t seem to be present nor did they seem to know what to do about selling pastries. We asked the person to grab one of the pre-assembled boxes for our orders. «Well…I don’t know… if we have enough to sell to you» they said. There were minimal pastries on the sales counter. When asked about all of those on the rack they asked some one about those. We were told the pastries in the rack, on the bottom half, were for the next day… day old being sold as fresh? When we began our order, the sales person said they didn’t know if they could fill our order because they had to save the pastries for that afternoon. I cannot help but wonder if the pastries we were able to buy were sitting in the rack the previous day? I asked the person behind the counter if they would rather sell them now, fresh to customers standing there or wait for someone to come in that afternoon? Apparently they wanted to wait for hopeful guests that afternoon that might possibly buy them… No big deal if they didn’t because they would most likely just sell them the next day. What a great business plan… waiting to sell pastries to phantom customers rather than selling them to those already in the store waiting to buy them. Perhaps having informed, trained, and polite staff may increase sales. The review is about the staff, the pastries were pretty good.

We stopped in to get a coffee to go. Packed, even at 2pm! That must mean something good, I’d think. :) And it did… coffee was delicious. Definitely worth stopping in. The parking lot is kinda crappy though. Boo.

This place is wonderful! I went for the first time yesterday to grab breakfast before checking out Bethel Church for the first time. It was conveniently just down the street and the service was great. Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, and yummy food & coffee! The atmosphere is also really cozy and quaint. I will be coming back on my next visit!

We have been here twice now. Really like this place, wife LOVES it. The scuffins are really great. Went here yesterday, Sun, for breakfast. Wife had a fantastic veggie omelette. I had the breakfast sandwich with red potatoes. Coffee is outstanding. We purchased some granola for home as well, very good. Would like it if they had table service tho. We just prefer that way, but ordering at counter is fine. Only reason not 5 stars, was that both times we have been here, I felt the red potatoes were a bit under cooked, and we think they slather a bit too much butter on things. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this place! First time here and right when we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. They asked if we’ve been here before, and suggested some good options for to-go. We got the breakfast burrito and sandwich, which was amazingly delicious! The sandwich is like a grilled cheese with egg and bacon and comes with a side of pan roasted potatoes. The burrito was also delicious and comes with a side of salsa for sauce. On top of friendly service and amazing product, their décor and cleanliness of the store is awesome! I really wish there was a place like this in the South Bay, because it’ll be a huge hit! Definitely going to have to stop by again next time we make the drive up the northwest. Two thumbs up for this awesome place!

Only the best on Redding. The perfect little spot to hit for breakfast or lunch! My son loves their mango tango smoothie. I love the cold chicory coffee brew! Uuuuuummmmazing!!! Don’t forget to grab a loaf of fresh baked sour dough. Jalapeño cheddar is our family favorite!

This place is great to grab a quick bite to eat. Love the chicken salad sandwich and their drinks are great. They have improved on the things I noticed since my last review BUT I did notice the lady who made my drink touched my straw at the top where my mouth goes and she was the same lady who was the cashier a few minutes earlier. I would hope she had washed her hands since then or how about we get our own straw.

This place is solid, the coffee is great if you’re trying to hang out and do some laptop work or chill. Super low key and laid back, the service is hella quick and always with the same level of quality. I’d totally suggest the chi bowls or the sandwiches — Come eat here for the fire. Oh the food is hella fresh and healthy so it a good healthy choice spot #killinit … Deff not the best place to find cute girls tho … They look rough.

Everything about this place is great. You can’t go wrong weather you get a sandwich, coffee, pastry, or breakfast! The staff is always friendly! And the food is always delicious. Eggs Benedict and cashew chicken salad are my 2 favorites.
