This was our first time using a professional moving service & I was very hesitant after hearing of previous bad experiences from family/​friends.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the service, professionalism, respect of my home & property that I received. We highly recommend Hemsted’s and North American Van Lines!

Hemsted’s was recommended to me by my real estate agent for a long distance move. I could not have asked for a better experience. Mark Crawley is a rock star. The local guys who assisted on the move (Sam, Scott, and Ron) were also completely awesome. This is the most genuine, honest, caring set of guys anywhere — not once was I concerned about my belongings, and not a thing was damaged in the move. They were fast, smooth, courteous, and always on top of communication. If I ever have the need for moving anything again, these are my guys. You know your moving company did a stellar job when you feel sad that your experience with them is over. Hemsted’s makes moving enjoyable — I recommend them 100%.

These guys were great… fast, efficient, professional, and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend. They came in under the quoted price, were a pleasure to deal with and not a bump, scratch, or crack anywhere to be found. By the way, the move included a very heavy memory foam bed (that went upstairs) large gun safe, and a 100 year old upright piano. All handled like a bunch of pros with politeness and professionalism.

We had the best experience with Hemsted’s movers. They were efficient, flexible, fast, prompt, and professional. They moved our entire house and relocated us in a nearby town in under 8 hours. We had some large furniture items and they moved everything with ease. None of our items had a single scratch from the move and all the glassware arrived intact. We all know moving is a miserable task but Hemsted’s made the process seem like it was no big deal. We are so grateful to have had the three movers we had and to have worked with Hemsted’s. Please don’t hesitate to hire the best!

This is the second time I have used Hemsted’s Moving, and I would hire them a third time. Called and booked with Patty, who scheduled Bob, to come evaluate my load. Bob is fast, professional and has a great sense of humor. 3 guys showed up on time, on moving day, fully prepared. Scot handled the quick paper work as Jimmy and Arnie set up. I was completely moved out of an upstairs apartment (including a 400 pound safe and lots of pre-​packed boxes, 2 kayaks, 2 bicycles and miscellaneous furniture in less than 2 hours. These guys do not waste time. They moved me into my new apartment, upstairs, just as fast. Not one single item was broken or damaged. I kind of expected something to be broken, thinking it comes with moving, but nothing was broken. They also used protective covers on both apartments in areas that could have been damaged from the move-​no damage at either apartment.

Being somewhat of a control freak, I normally would not even entertain the idea of hiring a moving company. However, with our last move, we didn’t have an option. After being given the run around with another «well known» moving company we had been given a referral to, we happened to come across Hemsted’s in an online search. I’ve heard so many bad experiences from people about moving companies, it was difficult to pick one that I didn’t know much about. The fact that they were available on somewhat of a short notice and at a fraction of the rate we’d been quoted from that other «well known» moving company, made me think this was going to be a major headache. I was wrong. Two guys showed up right on time on moving day. The respectfulness they exuded made me think that we must have lucked out and had the owners of the company moving us. Guess I was wrong again, they weren’t the owners. One would never guess that, though. Scott and Alan worked their tails off. ALL. Day. Long. Even with lots of special circumstances in our move, including packing up only part of our house, a nursing infant that had to nap in a bed that would eventually be packed up and the aforementioned control freak that eventually let go because the two gentlemen from Hemsted’s gave her plenty of reassurance within their actions that they were fully capable of handling the job … even without my supervision. ;) I can’t thank them enough for that. We feel lucky to have found Hemsted’s on a whim, and had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. How often do you hear that about a moving company!?! Seriously. Call them.

Best move I’ve ever done, and I’ve moved a lot. Made me a great deal, took great care of my stuff, very professional, nice movers. Can’t say enough good things about them! Use them, and you won’t be sorry. I used them for a move within California from one city to another.

Fantastic movers! The quote came in $ 800 less than a competitor’s, communication was great, everything went according to plan.
Plus Wayne was sooooo awesome, he was kind, treated my belongings like they were his and had no problem with last minute decisions and cluttered storage units.
I never thought a move could go so smoothly, so cool.

Recently moved from larger house to smaller one in Redding. Bob gave me a reasonable price and the men who packed and moved me were extremely professional and courteous. I would definately use them again and highly recommend them. I have moved many times over the years with this being the second time I actually used professionals. They packed things so well and moved my things with great care. Nothing broken so far as I can tell.

We moved from Northern California to Portland Oregon. Bob Wilson, owner of this company, made the 3−½ hr drive out to the coast to estimate the job. When his crew arrived to move us they were friendly and very professional. They agreed to store our things for 10 days before delivering them to us in Portland. Wally and Sal along with the others are really great guys. When we had a small problem with a broken tree limb the company took care of it. Thanks again to Sonia for coordinating everything, to Bob, Wally and Sal.

We used Hemsted’s to move from Redding to Chico last weekend. Bob Wilson, the owner of Hemsted’s came out, estimated for us the cost, provided us with boxes. The movers themselves were great, very professional, knew what they were doing, so helpful, hard-​working, courteous, and did a great job for us. They moved us to two locations in Chico.
I would like to commend both the owner and the movers for a great job and helping us make the move easy and painless.
They are helping us next week, helping us move from our storage unit to my office. All at very reasonable rates.
P. S. The actual cost turned out less than the original estimate.

As said before. Hemsted’s is a great mover! They are a local branch of North American movers and have been moving since the 1930s. The local team was courteous, professional, and efficient.
My move was a home downsize from a large Redding home to a Contra Costa county apartment, with a second stop at a storage unit. Hemsted’s pricing was a median bid between 3 solicited bids. They honored the bid and the move went largely seamless. When our personal packing was off schedule, Bob, a Hemsted manager, competently adjusted the staffing at the last minute and safely packed and loaded our belongings. No fragile items have yet been found broken. The packers were generous with packing paper, but the end cost on materials was as estimated.

these guys are great! they were efficient, considerate, organized and fast. they moved our stuff into a tiny storage unit seven hours away… and they made all my stuff fit!
I was nervous because I hadn’t packed very well. When the movers arrived, they just scooped all my free junk into boxes and whisked it all away. They were totally friendly and polite.
They are SO GOOD.

Without a doubt the best moving company ever. Moving companies rarely get good reviews. I can’t say enough good things about this company. They moved me from San Jose to Portland, Oregon, and then back to Pleasanton, CA. The guys who load and unload the truck are professional, helpful, kind, and careful. In the moves, TWO things got broken. One was a lamp that the packing guy, who was not part of Hemsted’s, I hired him independently, didn’t pack well, and the other was a spice jar. That’s it. Everything else was delivered intact, on time, loaded and unloaded quickly, carefully and efficiently. I had to move the date of pickup due to some problems getting into the rental, no problem, they just accommodated it. They stored our stuff for over a week, with no extra charge that I could find. I can’t recommend this company enough. They operate throughout the US, so consider them for your move. If I move again, which I’m sure I will, I’ll be calling them again.
