They have a great selection of beer, but don’t order a keg from them. I called Liquor Barn over a week in advance of needing the keg. My first phone call, I asked about two kegs, and the girl told me that she would call me back later about them. She seemed rushed, and bored with trying to help me. She never did call back, and I wasn’t surprised. The next day(Wednesday), I called and ordered a keg from them. The girl had never heard of the beer that I wanted, but she told me that it would be available by the following Thursday(I needed it the following Saturday). Okay, great. I asked her, «should I follow up with you next week, to make sure that the keg is on its way?» She gave me a reply, in the tone that this was a stupid question, «umm… if you want to.» Therefore, I was pretty confident that they would handle it. However, on Friday, the day that I needed the keg, I get a message from Liquor Barn that the keg is out of stock in the warehouse. Really? You’re letting me know the DAYBEFORE I need it? I would have ordered it elsewhere, where it would have worked out. I’m giving them one star for their good beer selection.

Liquor barn has a good selection of liquor, beer and wine etc. Prices are reasonable and some are really good deals. However, the selection is limited to «bigger» brands and they may not carry smaller labels. So instead of having more brands of vodka they may have 12 favors of Absolut.

Stopped here on our way from San Francisco to Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival, largely based on the recommendations of other helpers. So glad we did. Great, reasonably priced selection in clean and bright store with knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

If you happen to be in Redding, this local liquor shop has a wide variety of craft beer and spirits. I saw a lot of things I had not seen at any other shop. They had many different ciders, tons of craft beer and spirits as well that aren’t available at a lot of other places. It’s wall to wall alcohol and other related items like bottle openers, flasks, glasses, etc. Prices seem reasonable and the staff are knowledgable about what they carry. Stop in if you want to browse, looking for something different or if you don’t want to go to BevMo!

What a great place. We stopped by the first time on a whim and I was in awe of the size of the store and selection. I LOVE mini bottles and they had so many. My hubby got a mini crystal skull and I picked up a bottle of Koloa kaua’i dark rum. I liked the rum so much I e-mailed and asked for a case to be available on my next trip through. They had it ready within days of my order. This place rocks and will be on my must do list every time I head down I-5.

Driving back home to Portland from Los Angeles, we always swing through a couple liquor stops to load up on liquor which is consistently far cheaper down here than in the People’s Republic of Oregon. Having run the gamut of stores in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, and knowing pretty well what booze sells for up and down the state, I decided to hop into Liquor Barn to round out a few holes in my collection. Liquor Barn has some ups and downs. The good: Selection. This place is huge; easily the size of the average BevMo or maybe even bigger. Everything I was looking for here I found in pretty short order. The decent: Pricing. Comparing Liquor Barn to other big-box-style stores resulted in finding some pretty good deals, and finding other items more expensive. In general, I found their Whiskey section to be slightly high on the pricing – Bottles I just found for $ 19.99 were $ 22 – 24 here. Single Malt Scotches were a bit high here($ 3 – 10 a bottle higher than elsewhere). However, their Liqueur prices were quite good. Came home with a bottle of Galliano(Herbal), some Domaine de Canton(Ginger), and Tuaca(Vanilla/Orange) at some of the best prices I’ve found – easily 10−20% cheaper than elsewhere. In all, great place to stop and buy liquor, but as always, it pays to be an informed buyer and know what sells for what. We’ll be back next time we’re passing through.

A ridiculous variety of beer, wine and just about everything liquor related. My dad loves this place because it’s the only place that carries his favorite beer.

As the other reviews state, a great selection of beer, wine and liquor. Since BevMo has been in Redding, Liqour Barn’s stock and selection has greatly improved. I enjoy shopping there. This last week I was disappointed though. I was searching for chilling stones or whiskey stones as they are sometimes called. I went to Liquor Barn first because I didn’t want to shop at the big retailers during the holiday season. I believe in supporting local businesses. Well needless to say I ended up at a larger retail store instead. Once in Liquor Barn I couldn’t find a soul to ask for help. I walked all over the store looking for the stones, no luck. So I decide to wait in line to ask one of the clerks. When I ask her I get a blank stare and she directs me to World Market. I ask her if she even knows what Chilling Stones are. Her reply, «No.» and that they don’t carry them. I couldn’t believe she was telling me where to purchase an item that she knew nothing about.

An almost dizzying selection of wine, liquor and beer. I don’t go to just buy a «handle» or something, or a 12-pak of watered down mega-beer. I like a selection and trying new and seemingly rare leaded goodies. Prices seemed fair, shelves were well stocked, everything was well kept. I only wish there was something of this size and selection in the East Bay — BevMo’s urban/mall locations limit space and limit selection in comparison.

Mega selection of beer, wine and spirits. I usually hop between here and Bev mo for my craft brew needs. liquor barn being a little more expensive on done things, but a lot cheaper on a bunch of things. Friendly crew from my experiences, and knowledged. TV

Okay, an update for finding out that ‘reserve’ is different from ‘regular’, and that there was ‘regular’ around there somewhere. But I tried to track down a clerk, and finally got someone and asked them about Old Bushmills, and they didn’t have any. So selection didn’t meet specs, so I was just kind of unhappy in general. Also, I ended up stopping at the«Liquor Expo» near Yreka, and they had a super sale on Jaegermeister($ 13) and that made my daughter happy, so that made me happy and some of their other stuff was definately cheaper than in Redding. Next time I go to Liquor Barn, I’ll insist on more help, I guess.

This place rules, As my friend said it is like Disneyland for Alchoholics. Imagine if Lowes or Home depot sold booze. Hundreds of weird foreign beers, rare liquors, and tons of wine. Anytime I drive on I-5 north I try to stop at the Liquor Barn and stock my cooler. If you are in Redding you must stop here.

Best selection of liquor in Shasta County. They will special order as well. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I remember getting kegs for parties here. Located behind Country Bowl, right next to I-5.
