Lisa’s Book Nook

Lisa’s is the best, she always has such a large assortment and I always walk out with something. If you’re looking for a deal check Lisa’s first!

There are about six used book stores in town (that I know of anyways, I’m always looking for more). There are only two that have a great selection, great customer service, and an atmosphere that actually makes me feel comfortable hanging out for a while as I browse through some books. This is one of the two. I will admit that the organization is a bit haphazard, and it can be a little difficult to find where you are in the alphabet, but if you get lost or have questions, she is more than happy to answer them and find what you are looking for.
I find that a book store does not have to be 100% organized and tidy as long as the staff is approachable and knowledgeable. This more than fits that bill.
There seems to be a good mix of paperback and hard cover. There are enough genres to keep me happy as I like to read a little bit of everything. For the most part, pricing is about half of retail price.

I heard about Lisa’s book nook and made a note to myself to pop by one day. I mentioned this to a client of mine and she told me she goes there a lot. She started telling me a story of this girl (Lisa) who owned the shop and how kind she was. How when my client had been ill and on bed rest Lisa had offered to bring her fav types of books to her. Come to find out, Lisa treats all her customers like family members. Being a lover of great customer service, I put Lisa and her book nook a little higher on my to do list. So today I went. What a charming place! Book Nook is exactly what it is. There were lots of sections of books, all in really nice condition. There were comfy chairs and hot cocoa or coffee if you pleased. Handmade items from Lisa herself, from scarves to candles. And if she dosen’t have a book, she can get it for you. The prices we really nice, and Lisa herself is so pleasant and fun to chat with, I would probably come back if she owned a newspaper stand. Wonderful local business.

This woman knows her stuff AKA books !!! Lisa is so knowledgeable about all different kinds of books and authors. She is so nice, personal, and helpful to locate the book you are looking for. I was so impressed with the customer service I received and her prices are very reasonable.

I went into Lisa’s Book Nook about a year ago now. It was a small used bookstore tucked in a seemingly out of the way shopping center in Redding. All of the books I saw were in very good condition though I was not all that impressed with the selection. They have a trade policy that I believe worked as a percentage off the books you purchase with the books you bring in. If you’re a fan of bookstores I would definitely give it a shot, and I plan on stopping by again the next time I’m in Redding.
