Great service for our Prius. Took it in for a 90K service. They did the job on time and for the price quoted. Pleasant service personnel. Nice new service area. We will go back.

My wife and I purchased a used vehicle from Lithia of Redding. 1^st week we had the car we had the oil changed with synthetic. Put about 6,000 miles in about 8 months. Go in for are next oil change (not at lithia) and we are told it has an oil and transmission leak. Im sure it was cleaned to hide it when we purchased it. Will never go back again.

My son bought a car at Lithia Toyota of Redding. It was the typical high pressure sales job with a long list of optional services and components.
We’ve only had service done here. I tried their oil and lube service once but find JIffy Lube is cheaper and much quicker.
I brought our 2008 Prius in because suddenly our mileage dropped from the high 40s to the mid 30s. I suspect the High Voltage battery. I have my own code reader which didn’t show any codes. They drove the car, getting 43mpg over 7 miles, and checked the codes. They thought it was normal. We consider 43 mpg at the extreme low end for our car with 152K miles and the 7 years we’ve owned it. So they said it was fine, giving us a long list of things that can effect mileage such as how the driver uses the brakes, gas, how hot it is outside, if the 12V battery is good, and other things. In other words they treated us like dummies.
The second thing they did was change the spark plugs (still original after 152K miles. The engine was running fine, they just said it was time as the normal change is supposed to be done at 120K miles. They charged about $ 125 to change 4 plugs.
I did notice there were perhaps some obstructions that had to be removed to change the plugs so perhaps it is a little more than unscrewing the old ones and screwing in new ones. But while I was checking the car’s fluids I looked at the plugs and it did not appear that the coils, which fit on top of the plugs, had been touched as the dirt showed no marks of anyone gripping the coils to pull them out. Did they really change the plugs$
So this $ 204 visit may have been a total waste. I’ll change my own plugs next time. That same week I changed all 8 plugs in my boat in less than ½ hour for the price of the plugs and no labor.
Unfortunately we have no alternative in the small city of Redding, there is only one Toyota dealer. We won’t buy a Honda because we don’t trust Crown Motors at all.

We broke down in Redding on the way south. Lithia Toyota was open earlier than any other shop so we were able to get in and get seen early. We grabbed breakfast while they diagnosed the problem and gave us a price quote — spark plugs. It was all done in a timely fashion. Within 2 hours we were driving away. The price ended up being lower than the initial quote because they got the work done quickly. I believe we paid more than we may have somewhere else, but timeliness and friendly, convenient service were a plus. No problems reoccured so the service seemed solid.

I stopped by the service department to ask a question about my headrest on my car which was hard for me to explain. Although they were busy, Peter, said ‚“Let me come take a look.” He came out, saw the problem & fixes it within three minutes!!! That would NEVER happen in a large city! That simple step of service is AWESOME!!!

I made an appointment to have my car serviced and told them I’d need a shuttle as I’d have a toddler with me. I waited for TWO HOURS with a child for their stinkin shuttle. I would not recommend relying on them for shuttle service if you’re in a rush, but it was nice getting a ride back to the dealership. I did buy my car here too and the employees seem nice.

This is actually the first Unilocal review I’ve done. I’ve avoided writing reviews for a long time, but am so compelled to let others know about my negative experiences at this dealership that I couldn’t help but start now.
I bought my first new car at this dealership in early 2013 with mixed feelings about my experience. Having not bought a new car before, I suspected all sales associates and financial reps to be the typical smarmy types we’ve all heard about. The sales associate was actually really nice. He seemed new, which is likely why he was actually helpful and not trying to oversell us (he probably hadn’t worked there long enough to become corrupt yet). But the finance rep was terrible. I knew it was going to be difficult to get them to stop asking if I was sure I didn’t want the extended warranty and other extras, but it was worse than I thought. I was taken to a different room where a finance rep kept hounding me over and over again for about 30 minutes. No means no. How many times do I have to repeat myself!
My experiences with this dealership only got worse. While under warranty I took my vehicle here to get maintenance, mainly just an oil change. What’s annoying with this place is that they don’t take reservations. I live in a small town an hour away, and usually have limited time while in Redding. My first visit took at least 2 hours and there’s nothing to do while waiting. No one offered a shuttle service or anything to get me on with my day. Just sitting and waiting in a stuffy, over-​filled room with a bunch of other customers. Plus, oil changes are one of the most routine maintenance items there is, and don’t take long. Due to the long wait, I decided to take my car to another dealership that takes reservations.
Now here’s the worst part. I hadn’t gone to this dealership in over a year, but my wife recently took our car there for an oil change and a service rep conned her into a «maintenance package» that included a brake fluid flush. Thing is, there’s absolutely no reason our car needed a brake fluid flush whatsoever. So now our already overpriced $ 60 oil change somehow made its way to over $ 300! My wife did the right thing in asking what and why a brake fluid flush was needed and the rep just kept feeding her lies. The typical smarmy pressures you get from jiffy lube and other unreliable providers; «if you don’t get it done, your brakes won’t last as long and can overheat…» and a bunch of other snake oil. She told him I already did all of the required maintenance except for an oil change, but he kept feeding her lies until it sounded like it was a very necessary thing to do.
So there you have it. My wife went in for a simple oil change and left with a bill for over $ 300. Needless to say, we will never be going here again.

My wife and I bought a 2015 Prius there and thought the process went well until we discovered later that they had tricked us. We had refused to buy the lifetime oil change option at the $ 649 price but purchased it when the finance guy told us he could reduce the price to $ 299. We found out later that in fact he charged us the $ 649 but had manipulated some other figures to make it look like it was $ 299 on the bottom line. You sign so many papers and it takes so long to get through the process that he was able to engage us in friendly conversation at a crucial time while signing so that we missed it until we looked over the paperwork later. When I called and described to a supervisor how we were deceived, he did not apologize or explain. Luckily, the contract allowed us to cancel within 60 days and get a refund (that law does not apply to the car purchase itself though fyi). I also emailed the general manager about what had happened and he called and said the refund was on its way but did not really give an explanation for what had happened. I guess the best approach is to not be friendly or believe what they tell you, just read the contract and look at every figure before you sign. Too bad it kind of ruins the fun of buying a new car. You might want to try a different dealer/​seller.

We checked the oil of my friend’s Prius after lunch. It was fine. But then I said, «Hey, aren’t you missing a cap over there?»
So we headed to the nearest Toyota dealership for a replacement. It was really difficult to figure out where we could park with all the construction, but eventually we just parked right next to the parts building.
The woman working parts was very nice, but apparently the appropriate cap depended on what month of that particular model year the Prius was built. We didn’t know that information off the top of our heads. Eventually we suggested that she just walk outside to look for herself.
When we got to the car, she couldn’t tell if that was the brake fluid cap or another reservoir cap. Fortunately, one of their techs was passing by and she flagged him down. She asked him which reservoir that was. He immediately told us that the cap was missing. We told him that was the reason we were at the dealership.
The tech pulled out a flashlight, peered into the engine compartment, emerged with the cap and promptly put it back on. No charge. Thanks, Lithia Toyota!

I received a recall for my headlight having a issue with the bulb burning out. My truck has had the problem for awhile so essentially i was excited to get it replaced. i went down to lithia to get the service done on it. They had to order the parts. they seem to never have anything in stock also. Time goes by and yes this was my fault on not making it to the dealer for awhile. when i went in there this morning they said the tech would have to look at it first then do the headlights. 2 hours later while im standing right in front of the place i ger a call and front desk guy states the part that we ordered for you was sold because you didnt return our call. two hours of sitting there just to tell me that. then as im sitting there in front of him not saying a word he then acts like im making a scene by telling me its because you didnt call and i tried calling you x amount of times. the whole experience was a joke. taking 2 hours to tell me that the part was sold instead of me sitting there. i can see why the place has 2 stars is all.

I bought a new car from lithia Toyota and the experience was just like I rated it. (okay) They take to long to get you financed about 4 to 5 hours it should take a lot less then that with all the tec out there these days.
The sales person was nice but I could tell his nice attitude was crowded buy how much of a pay check he could get out of me.
I traded in a 2012 prus c that I had for two years and found that it was to small for a growing family. I didn’t get much for my trad because people are finding that out like I did that they are to small. Good mpg though!!! No complaints
I have not used there survive department yet but I did about 10 years ago so I have nothing to comment about that department yet.

Dan Richelieu was extremely helpful and provided us with excellent service and care. He was very knowledgable and provided us with the tools to purchase our XLE Camry. He was so helpful that both my parents and grandparents walked away with cars thanks to Dan.

I haven’t purchased a car yet, but I keep returning to test drive possibilities. So far the customer service for buying a car has been very good with little to no pressure.

Service. pretty good. So we had a squeak in a strut that helps move our hatch back on our 1999 4Runner. Took it in. About $ 400 bucks. They replaced the wrong strut, driver’s side, not passenger’s side. Months passed. Brought the vehicle in for service and mumbled about the mistake. OMG. They replaced the passenger’s strut at no charge and no complaint. I’m having a hard time believing that happened. Jason, the service guy, is OK.

After all was said and done, we did end up purchasing a vehicle from Lithia Toyota, it all ended up to be a solid deal in the end.
That being said, I’d really like to see car dealerships go away with the game playing and number switching.
About two years ago, I went to Sacramento and purchased a used car from Outlet4Cars. Fantastic experience. No game playing. Straight up salesman. GREAT car (still have it and love it). Told me best price, told me what my payments would be, and didn’t play games AT ALL. Had they sold new cars, we would have made this purchase from them.

Lithia has steadfastly ‘refused’ to raise its National
Rating of D-​??? It has had More recent unresolved complaints. When I went to Lithia to ask for any explanation of the reasons for the complaints being unresolved; I was shuffled around until my BBB print out was pushed back in my face and the ‘lead person’ walked away with a shrug of ‘disgust’… The Toyota is rated VERY high by Consumer Reports; however, I can not buy one from a Local Company whose reputation of customer service is so very ‘dismal’ :(!

My business partner drops a company rig off at Lithia a few days ago because it’s overheating when the beast is crawling at less than 5 mph while off-​road in 4WD. It never overheats on the highway or in stop-​and-​go traffic around town. Only when there’s almost no air going through the radiator as a function of forward progress.
My amateurish diagnosis: The radiator must be fine, since it works under normal conditions 99% of the time. It’s the fan that’s kaput. The fan clutch is slipping, or the fan hamster is dead, or whatever.
Lithia’s diagnosis: Yeah, the radiator fan clutch isn’t working. Oh, and we need to replace that radiator, too.
I don’t hear about Lithia’s diagnosis until after the deed is done, so when I pick the rig up and pay the nearly $ 1,000 tab, I ask why they replaced the radiator. My man at the check-​out counter says that his best tech, who’s been there for 30 years, said that the radiator «apparently wasn’t breathing.»
Then why the effing hell did the radiator work 99% of the time, and only fail to work when it needed the radiator fan to push air through it?
I actually partly reserve judgment until shortly after I drive away, when I illegally (while pulling onto Cypress Ave.) phone a buddy who owns a car repair shop down south. After telling me we just got ass-​hammered good and hard, he chuckles and says, «Look at the bright side… you’re helping move the economy forward.»
Mmmmmmmfuuuuuuuuck.
I’m glad to hear that the Buzz Fledderjohn & Associates Stimulus Plan is working out well for Lithia Toyota. I wish I could say that it’s working out equally well for Buzz Fledderjohn & Associates.
I’ve purchases six vehicles from this dealership, including the pick-‘em-up truck that I drive every day. The level of trust — I’m talking both new vehicle purchases and vehicle service — is at this point deader than fried chicken.

Sorry… going to have to agree with the other reviews on this place. My family has always been a Toyota family and we’ve always trusted and loved the brand. Unfortunately in Redding we are stuck with Lithia Toyota. We had a recent accident that forced us to buy another vehicle – not much sympathy was given at Lithia for our situation and that we should feel lucky and priviliged to be able to buy the cars they did have available. A lot of bad mouthing the other dealers in town as well as particular brands of cars. And I don’t want to name any names, but the other reviewers did for me – that particular salesman IS overly pushy. And I couldn’t help notice the other employees even having issues with him. The other salesman I witnessed in the lot seemed awfully immature and gave looks of annoyance to us… maybe because they didn’t get us first? I don’t know but we won’t be back.
We took our business to Redding Subaru and what a difference.
