Redding Harley-Davidson

I was so excited when my boyfriend won a Harley from a corporate giveaway. When we contacted the local Harley to find out when it would arrive comments such as «what are you in some kind of hurry or something» were made in a not very nice manner to me when the bike was 2 weeks late.
The bike finally arrived but the paperwork had not (I think it has been was misplaced) so we went down to look at the bike. When we arrived and walked in nobody said a word to us. We finally had to go up to a counter and ask to be helped. The guy standing behind the counter ignoring us was Ernie the owner. He showed us the bike and kept trying to walk off on us and the only thing he told us about the bike was «nice bike huh?» He made us feel like we were bothering him or something. (I found later he did not like that my boyfriend had won a bike)
I went home and called corporate to find out what happened with the paperwork, suddenly the local dealership has the paperwork that had never arrived the next morning. We went back and signed papers but did not pick up the bike due to transportation issues. We dealt with sales manager Nate (the only helpful person we met there), he was thorough and did everything he should do as a salesman. Ernie on the other hand still made us feel like he did not want us there. Just by looks and ignoring us.
We decided that since we both have physical disabilities that prevent us from riding the bike we would go ahead and sell it. Let another local enjoy it. The next morning we found a buyer. Apparently he had been to the dealership that morning but was going to go to Sacramento to buy a bike as a result of how him and his girlfriend were treated there by the owner and sales people.
When we arrived at the dealership we told Nate that we had found a buyer for the bike and they would be financing it through them. Over the next hour I learned from owner Ernie’s own mouth that he does not like the fact that Harley Davidson would give away a Harley. When customers come in they are not greeted, they are not approached and 2 different customers that day told us they had been made to feel like they were bothering the employees.
All I can say is that if you want to buy a bike and get treated the way a customer should be, then this is not the location. You will better off to take a short drive to another Harley dealership than go into a store where customer service is non existent.

I had a really awesome experience buying from Redding Harley. I approached them with the rider to rider program on a bike that I found on craigslist and they treated me wonderfully through the entire process. Nathan was the salesman and I highly recommend him. Before, during, and after the sale he has been just incredible. Also, the young lady that manages the retail department is just as good, although I don’t know her name.

Not much of store clothing selection but the service was friendly and they had a lot of new bikes on display. Good location right off the Fwy!

I was in the middle of a 900 mile ride from Reno up to Washington on my 2000 Fat Boy. Battery starts getting flakey near Adin, CA. 100 miles from anywhere. I sent Will, the service manager a panicky e-​mail that I was on my way. Next Sunday morning I jumped the bike off a car and rode it the 100 miles to Redding HD, praying all the way that the bike would not stop. It did once while I was stuck in a line of cars and it was overheating, but thankfully the battery had just enough charge to kick it over — barely.
Will and gang tested the battery, confirmed it was bad, tested the charging system, confirmed that it was good. I was in and out in an hour.
Not a huge thing, but you gotta give credit where it was due. They fit me in, just gave me what I needed, and sent me on my way with no more problems. They did right by me.

Wanted to thank Redding Harley for helping me with my latest bike transaction. I have been dealing with Redding Harley for over 20 years now and my dad has done business with them for even longer. I have referred family to them and friends as well, and everyone has done the 4 hour drive from the bay area to get their friendly service and fast help. John and their parts team are top notch, the guys in there know their stuff and dont just read out of books. Nate is great and makes things painless on the service end of things, and the Wright family has always been good to us and demonstrate great ownership and a real care for their customers.
You want a shirt, a mug, a bike, or a soda, they are gonna treat you the same way each time. Very friendly staff, I would recommend this dealership above the many others I have rode to.

Poorly managed, dealer doesn’t back the work they do. If there is a problem with your bike, don’t count on the work being done correctly, they do not back their poor workmanship but still charge you nonetheless! They have poor customer service, especially after the sale! Please avoid this dealer as you would likely have better service from an Independant shop!
