Could be great, but slow slow slow slow… Prices seem a bit high for certain things. Why is a vegetarian wrap the same price as multi-meat wraps? Or a breakfast sandwich without meat? Not the only place around these parts that screws over the vegetarians… Unlike other reviews, all employees have been friendly to me. The mart is useful and I like the addition of handmade, local things!

I was thrilled that his place was on my route to work and that they have a large menu of interesting lunch items. However, I went there at least 4 to 5 times hoping each time to «give it another try». There was always a long wait so I learned to call ahead. The staff is very young and more interested in their cell phone– no common courtesy. They would consistently get my simple order wrong every time. The last time I went there, I was waiting about 20 minutes for a veggie burger. I saw a sandwich wrapped and waiting and I asked the girl if that was mine and she said«no.» She then wrapped up my order to go and I got in the car only to find it was not my order. Went back in, the girl was in a daze looking at her phone and did not apologize and the sandwich that I pointed out to her was still sitting there and was actually mine so I waited all that time for nothing. I am disappointed that I can’t continue to go here because the service is so poor. If that ever changes, I will give it another try. The owner needs to hire more quality staff even if it means spending a little more money in order to retain customers.

We stop into the Redding Ridge Market pretty frequently. We’ve never tried a sandwich there we didn’t like. Their breakfast sandwiches are especially delicious, and ridiculously reasonably priced. Great coffee, too. Their grocery items are expensive, but that’s to be expected in Redding, where the closest really grocery store is 10 minutes away from any given area!

Food is great and the prices are reasonable. I am constantly comparing other delis and sandwich shops to the Ridge and the Ridge always wins(hands down).

Like any business, the Redding Ridge has it’s ups and downs; fortunately, it’s currently on an upswing. We visit regularly and always find it to be a wonderful place for casual dining, a snack or some grocery items. It’s a treat to find genuine small-town feel and honest food at a reasonable price. Given my positive experiences, you can imagine that I was confused by all the reviews that criticized the service. So, I asked the cashier if ‘The Ridge’ had grown friendlier over the last few years, and she immediately acknowledged, that it used to be pretty grumpy. Net msg, the current staff are friendly and open to constructive suggestions, and if you haven’t visited the Ridge in a while, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the improvement.

We were disappointed. Had heard good things about this place. The food wasn’t anything special and the service was awful. As mentioned in previous reviews, the 2 young ladies behind the counter were unfriendly and unmotivated. A warm greeting would make such a difference. We won’t be going back. Once was enough.

This place is just down the road from me so I do know it quite well. It burnt down a few years ago, was completely rebuilt and is now clean and well designed. The sandwiches are made of good quality ingredients, just check they got your order correct before you leave with take out. They hire young women to staff the cash register and do not train them enough, no customer service ethic. Avoid at all costs at midday on a weekday as every high school kid in Redding shows up for lunch.

It’s the only option for food or coffee… agree with the sentiment above that service issues vs food is the problem. Good luck getting your order right, and the girls there are definitely doing you a favor to take your order /play it back. Really want to like this place… and it’s not far from being fine. Bummer.

Sandwiches are amazing. The girls taking orders need to smile more but overall it’s a fun friendly place for the locals. Soups are amazing and the Italian bread used for the sandwiches is fresh and delicious. Worth stopping in.

Very convenient and very clean. There is a good deli and an adequate grocery selection. I have given the«ridge» many chances however, I refuse to go back due to the treatment by the girls working the registers. Very rude and snippy. I am the customer, please do not act like you are doing me a favor by ringing me up or taking my order.

I have no idea what market the 2006 review refers to. The Redding Ridge Market in Redding, CONNECTICUT, has been rebuilt after a fire and is now a fine, clean, modern grocery-delicatessen serving a creative variety of prepared foods for sit-down consumption or takeout. The food is very well prepared with many grill and sandwich/wrap selections available. It has become a popular gathering place for people in the Redding Ridge area where there is a paucity of available places to obtain groceries, food or beverages. Also well received are the ice cream and soda fountain drinks. The Market is a welcome addition to the Black Rock Turnpike corridor in Redding.

«The Ridge», as this place was affectionately known to me and mine, was the only place to get groceries and ancillary items for about ten miles in any direction. Like most small Latin American countries, this place went through a variety of different regimes of varying qualities. We lived through the gourmet régime and the non-grocery régime and probably a couple short coups. As my attention has shifted I cannot comment on the current state of affairs, but you need not check with the State Department prior to going — it is safe.
