Lol I like how they respond with a story to try and cover thier ass. I never cursed or acted like an ass. This is obviously owned by a bunch of lying low lifes…

So the owner of this store has chosen to contact me about my negative review three years after I wrote it. I wonder if they chose to wait so long in the hopes that I would have forgotten the details of my experience. I have not and never will forget the rude introduction I got when trying to enter this store.
I was sent a message that began with laughing at me and proceeded to imply that I was lying about my age and/​or mistaken about what store I was in entirely. The lack of professionalism was appalling to say the least.

All the other reviewers must have this dark side mixed up with the one in Red Bluff or another head shop, because every time I come in here I have always been treated with a happy smile and everyone is super knowledgeable and happy to help me. And of course the pieces are expensive depending on what brand you get, that should be obvious. But they usually have a 50% off case. :) I love this shop and have bought many wonderful pieces from here!

I am the Patsy L. who posted a bad review for this place on 8÷8÷15 — apparently Bruce B. cannot let this go. First i was never in his redding store — there were no video tapes of me swearing because i was never there. This man is truly troubled and seems to revisit his poor reviews after weeks and months with his replies. This man never spoke to me other than on Facebook — and i had to have him removed for his incessant and rude messages. I was a customer with a complaint. I did not like his product or his customer service. BEWARE he is one bubble off. Again, many other local businesses would be happy to have your business. This man is not one of them. I challenge Bruce B to release his video (with audio) of me in his store swearing, or doing anything else! You have my permission, put my money where your mouth is!

Workers were very rude
Especially the fat red head who called me a b word under her breath I was simply trying to ask for help. I purchased a piece for a lot of money at their location on which I found out once I got home I had to clean it after every use which is ridiculous I did not pay for a piece I would hAve to clean every day more then 10 times. No one helped me solve the problem and they looked and treated me like I was stupid. Problem wasn’t fixed I say save your money and time and find somewhere else unless you feel like beating every person in that place’s a$$

Given that it’s Redding’s only large head shop, it’s hard to say too many bad things about this place. The quality of their product varies depending on the vendor and artist (at least with glass). They have a ton of product on display, so at the very least you have options. I think this place cleaned up a lot when they stopped running the tattoo and piercing side. The sales people vary with their helpfulness. I’ve had bad service here just as often as I’ve had good service. I think most of the problem, when there is a problem, is that the employees are just high and want to chill out instead of answer questions or talk about their product very much. Their prices are kind of high, but given their slight monopoly on the Redding market, this makes sense. They do have a 50% case, which is nice. I’m used to college town prices, so The Darkside is at least an improvement on that. I’m glad this place exists in this town, regardless of the bad service I get every now and again.

I would recommend a midnight back alley tattoo in Tijuana instead if you are planning to have it done here, yep lots of glass but nothing different than what any smoke supply shop should carry. But if you are the type that would spend a down payment of a car on a «water pipe» then this is your spot, and don’t bother asking advice from staff because they all seem to act like they have something better to do than customer service

bad service high prices

my fiancé got a tat done there recently, the quality of the tat was good. Line work, art & colors I would give 4stars. He knew what he wanted going in & Mike drew it up quick and gave us an excellent price. The equipment was clean & sterile, however the shop look run down & dirty to me, very messy.
I have no tattoos myself but went with the idea of also getting one. Once I saw the tattooist I changed my mind real quick, he was crude and shared stories of being hung over & mis-​spelling someones tat recently. Another friend heard the same story from him w/​the addition that he told the consumers it wasn’t a good day for him to do the tat in the first place but they wouldnt take no for answer.
Also he took us as a walk-​in knowing it overlapped into his next appointment making them wait and extra 30 – 45 minutes.
But like I said the tattoo itself is very good work so if you dont mind the mess & lack of professionalism then it’s worth the money you save to go there.

Poor location, hard to access. The store is cluttered and the staff are unknowledgeable. I haven’t got a tattoo there but I’ve bought smoking items. Poor selection and the prices are a bit high. Wish they carried bubble bags and more vaporizers. Buddies of the staff tend to loiter in the store. I don’t get a comfortable feeling when I come in. I try to run in and run out.
