This salon has a wonderful, custom touch. It is so cute and fun in here! It’s bright and cheery, artsy, and perfect! As for the services, I got my nails done by the owner. (I have yet to have my hair done here but I do plan on it) Izzy who did my nails was fun, energetic and had great taste! I will definitely return.

Izzie rocked my hair extensions! My hair is fine and won’t grow much past my shoulders. Longing for thicker longer hair I took the leap and got 3 pack of Babe hair extension. Love them ! Great salon, great stylists,

Today was my first time at this salon and the first thing I noticed when I walked in was how great it smelled inside! Like candle warmers! The salon is beautiful and very welcoming.
I saw Raquel and I love her. She was welcoming and friendly and did exactly what I asked for and more on my hair. She was very accommodating and attentive to my hair wants/​needs. I highly recommend her. I had a very good experience at the salon today and can not wait to come back’

I went to Elana based on reviews I read in Unilocal.My first haircut went ok, she held up decent conversation and the cut was good. She was very fast, I blinked and she was done with my cut! I felt as if she was in a hurry the entire time I was in her chair. She massaged my neck while washing my hair which at times hurt me. While styling my hair she burned me with the hair dryer several times, so much that my scalp was very tender the next day.
I went there one week ago to get some length taken off of my hair. She seemed in a hurry again, working very fast even though nobody was waiting after me. She again hurt me while massaging my neck and while wringing out my hair over the shampoo bowl was pulling my hair. I said ouch two or three times, and gave plenty of «you are hurting me» signals which stylists should be able to pick up on, yet she didn’t. I asked for a bob haircut a tad under my chin with a long sweeping bang. (I brought in a picture) When she was finished the cut was above my chin, in an A-​Frame, and my bangs were very short (½ to ¾ above my eyebrows) and they were straight accross my forehead. She also got my right side noticeably longer than my left and cut my bangs back to the center of my head! I felt like crying when she was done, I was actually speechless. I mentioned that the bangs were way too short and she said, «in a week they’ll be fine, I guess I did get those a bit short.» She burned me again with the hairdyer, trying to be polite I said, «I must have a tender scalp because you keep burning me with your hairdryer.» After that she was a bit more careful.
Meanwhile I am left with a crooked, too short, haircut with little girl bangs. Thank goodness my hair grows fast. I will not return to Elana, I have already found somebody else and will be seeing them in about four weeks to hopefully correct my haircut-​gone-​bad experience. Until then… it will grow and be crooked…

I go to get my hair done by Elana. She is fantastic. The ladies have their own rooms that they work out of so you don’t feel as though you are on display as your getting your hair done. The feel of the salon is great. Its cozy, well decorated, clean. But the best part is Elana. She is so easy to talk to. She’s friendly and listens to what you want. She has mastered the fine art of of balancing between listening to you and knowing what is best so that the final result is amazing. I live in Humboldt county and its a three hour drive to see her but its worth it =)

Elana was able to fix my terrible haircut, which I didn’t think was possible, and made it look great! As a matter of fact, I believe she gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had:) Also, the salon is absolutely lovely. I will definitely be back for my next cut!

One of THE best salons in the Northern California area. If you feel like pampering yourself, this is the place to go. Impeccable service, delightful atmosphere, clean, great products, overall 5 stars.

The Velvet Loft is located in the same shopping center as Bog Bean and Angelos Pizza, upstairs. I was pleasantly surprised by the artistic and relaxing atmosphere. They have this beautiful, purple velvet couch in the waiting area with a plethora of magazines to read. The staff is fun and friendly! I was even offered a glass of red or white wine. Pretty fancy. Call for prices, average color with highlights — $ 65 Ask for Raquel when it comes to color. I’ve been going to her for over three years now.
They also do nails and facials!
