I went here about a half hour before they were closed, BIG mistake. I ordered a two piece fish meal with corn and onion rings. The corn was the only thing really worth eating! They made me wait for my meal, so I’m thinking, «Good, it’ll be fresh»! Nope, not the case. The fish was chewy and rubbery. It tasted as if it had been sitting there for awhile, and they just through it back in the grease for a few seconds to make it hot. The onion rings were slightly burnt, so that added to the disappointment. I’m not much of a Long John Silvers fan to begin with, and this meal sealed the deal, never going back!

Was looking for a quick meal on a Friday night. Decided to come here and it was a very good choice. Have not been to ljs in ages to say the least and walked away very impressed. The food was great(got the fish and chicken platter with two sides and hush puppies) could not expect more when going in standards not high for fast good place. The natural cut fries were awesome so tasty I could have gotten double fries for sides. But then I would not have had the onion rings which were great as well. Not only was the food good but the service was excellent as well. Will give it another try in the near future when in a pinch or not.

Who would have thought I’d ever go to, let alone rate, a fast food restaurant?! Well here it is! So, it’s a Friday during lent and I expected a line. There was one, but they moved patrons through it quickly. I hadn’t been inside since I was a little girl with my grandmother… that’s a loooong time. Anyway, the place was set up the same only with shinier booths/décor and was neat and clean. There was a mood about the place. The employees were happy and seemed to enjoy working there. Someone was cleaning and polishing as diners left the tables. Thankful patrons were dinging a «good job» captain’s bell. Employees shouted«thank you» in return. They were«in the zone.» Now to the food. I had a fish and chicken platter with onion rings and cole slaw. The hot stuff was hot and the slaw was cold. Although it was a fried frenzy of food, it was t-a-s-t-y. I’m picky when it comes to slaw, and it tasted fresh with just the right amount of dressing. The onion rings were delicious too. Wow! And don’t forget the crunchies… mmmmm. So, if you want some seafood, obviously the fried variety in a flash… don’t forget about this place. Plenty of food for the money and the quality was good. Now you and I understand why they have survived in this location for decades. If you go, don’t forget to ring the bell! Ahoy and enjoy, Unilocalers!

Sigh. No more transfat means no more batter crunchies. Those were the best part about getting the fish from LJS. At least now that there’s no more transfat tummy aches won’t happen. The clam strips taste better than before and the fries actually taste like potato.
