Closed til 5… explains the low reviews. We came at 3:20 on Sunday for Father’s day, came in and was told that they’re closed til 5. On Sunday?! Happy Father’s day to me :(I was looking foward to coming here for my father’s day…

Trendy and a definite hit with the college crowd. The atmosphere has a kind of rustic meets chic vibe to it. There’s limited indoor seating as the place is rather smallish. The food I selected was good, nothing to brag about, but satisfying none the less. They have a great beer selection and it looks like they have a nice dessert selection too. It would have been nice if they gave their patrons a warning before they closed their kitchen for the night… I wanted desert and had I known, I would have ordered dessert with my meal. So, my dessert review will have to wait until I return.

My husband and I originally came here with for lunch. The beer selection is good and the good was pretty great also. I like that they also have mixed drinks for those non beer aficionados. We continue to go as we enjoy all of it.

If our food would have came out sooner it would have gotten more stars and if the manager would have just cancelled my order like I requested.

Nice place to get some good craft beer. Very knowledgable staff. Recommended new and unique beer selections. It’s a small pub, with a few tables and long bar. Only wine based hard liquor drinks, so stick with beer. The food is awesome tho. Unique items on the menu. But you bartender can walk you thru it. We had the 3 sliders, beef, buffalo, jalapeño. They were all great. And split the Mac & cheese grilled cheese.

I have only been here once. And in their defense it was on a busy evening. That said it took awhile for the food and even longer for the dessert to come out. The food was decent. Dessert was okay. The gentlemen behind the bar was friendly and helpful. I will give it another try. My mind wasn’t blown for awesomeness or awfulness.

I went their with my Sister and two others for lunch to redeem a Groupon deal. I ordered the waffle breaded chicken burger with fries, now at first glance the looked to be over cooked but, to my surprise they were not. the seasoning on the fries and the in house ketchup was unbelievable. the burger itself was crispy from the waffle batter. o for dessert the offer up funnel cakes of all sort. including a bananas fosters style one that I devoured. the rest of my group said the enjoyed their meals as well. I would come back and pay full price. p. s. the beer selection is pretty good too!

Beer selection is great, but that isn’t hard. The food is awful. Takes forever and is dried out. Went when it was not very busy so manageable orders. Great ideas just executed very poorly.

This place is so cool! The bartenders are always so friendly! They always have great beers on tap, and their food is so amazing. So much cheesy goodness! Their sliders are where it’s at! We like to go for trivia night out on the patio which is loads of fun. People bring their dogs to the patio area which is really awesome because I am a big fan of puppers. The location is kind of isolated from anything else in the area, but I could easily spend a whole night here. I am so happy to have found this place!

Brewcakes! Friday night! No wait! Beer cold! Tried the absolution and the Voodoo! Had the jalapeño poppers, quinoa salad, grownup grilled cheese, Mac n cheese grilled cheese! Yes, that is what I said! For dessert the bananas foster beer battered! The Irish cake bomb! Will definitely come back! Awesome atmosphere!

Let me preface by saying that I have been to Brewcakes many times, and I greatly enjoy their beer selection and their vibe. But I had never eaten here before and since they are a gastropub, I thought it was about time. Lunch date with my sister planned and off we go. I quickly realized I’ve never even been here during daylight hours, but the vibe is much the same as under cover of night, laid back, low pressure and airy. Looking at the menu for the first time I was struck by how progressive and appetizing their menu was. Plenty of items listing bacon as an ingredient with hip sounding flavor combinations with interesting marinades/sauces/condiments. I asked the bartender/server for recommendations and the two items he recommended were the two items I had been eyeballing. I reluctantly made a choice and was thrilled the Mac n Cheese Grilled Cheese would soon be before me. But first Fried Pickles with a Spicy Ranch sauce. The fried pickles were hot, fresh, and delicious. They weren’t lying about the ranch being spicy, it was super spicy and incredibly delicious. The pickles were the fat, delicious variety only found in mom and pop delis. When the sandwich arrived, I was not visually disappointed. I was concerned about the fries, they looked overdone. I was wrong. They were just seasoned well and not undercooked. I’ve been procrastinating the sandwich review because to bring it up again, so soon, Wil just pull my heartstrings back there and I’ll over stuff and over saturate myself. Buy alas, the sandwich. It was simply put, the most innovative, unique, flavorful grilled cheeses I had ever had. The macaroni well complimented the crispness of the bread, and oh, the bread, the bread was perfectly grilled, crispy and seasoned. The cheeses and bacon were melted to perfection and did not make the bread soggy, nor was it under cooked where the cheese it not completely melted throughout. Great, talking about it and now I want to go back. Last but not least was the service. Despite being the only bartender/server on duty Cameron was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was quick with a recommendation and easy with input but he was not intrusive or pushy. He made an already great experience that much better because of his attitude and service.

My first visit here I came here for a «steal the glass» night. The price listed on the chalkboard did not match what I was charged, a difference of $ 2. I assumed that was for the glass. The people working were not very friendly, and I didn’t want to make a big deal of it, so I walked away thinking I’d just not go back. A friend’s invite for her birthday called for a return trip, hesitant I went hopeful for a better experience the second time around. On my second visit, I ordered and was served two beers, one in a 9oz glass cup and the second in a 16oz plastic cup. I came back to order two more beers — this time both 16oz pints. I got a new 16oz plastic cup to replace the 9oz glass, and the man who took my order asked me which beer went in the already used empty plastic cup. He then proceeded to put the used plastic cup on the inverted sink rinse and fill it with the new beer. I saw the waitress pull and fill a new plastic cup for another order right after.

Awesome food and craft brews, not to mention great staff. I consider myself super picky when it comes to food and beer and I was not disappointed… which is uncommon.

I have enjoyed this place during both visits. It’s a small place so very limited seating. Although there is a patio area that is nice with the improving weather. I love the Adult Root Beer float! The bbq flat bread and funnel cake are also muy bueno. I was not a fan of the Mexican chocolate bread pudding. It has entirely too much cinnamon on it a tasted oddly spicy, not in a good way either. I would keep up with your tab because I’ve been over charged at least once out of the two times I’ve been here. The bar tenders don’t show you what they are ringing up, which I think makes it a bit more likely to accidentally over charge.

It’s always a great time when I come here with friends. The food is great, the brew is bomb, and the customer service is what really makes the place so inviting. There’s always something going on different nights of the week. Food: This time tried the beefed up slider and the buffalo slider. Taste is great on both and so are the prices. Also had the When Pigs Fly today. Definitely recommend it right along with the Carne Asada fries sandwich. Brew: Tonight’s featured Brew is Founder’s Breakfast Double chocolate coffee Oatmeal stout. Strong rich taste. Definitely for people who enjoy richness and full taste.

I really wanted to like this place. Dragged my husband here on a Friday night from Fontana thinking it would be a fun bar with decent food. It was pretty much empty when we walked in and still took 5 mins for someone to ask for our order. The food was pretty much premade and reheated, the sliders were cold in the middle and the caprese flat bread which someone on Unilocal recommended was really cheesy, not very hot, and the dough was mushy. Bananas foster was greasy and the ice cream was super hard. We could see the girls talking about it in the kitchen if they should serve it or not… The girl in the kitchen was very nice and so were the 2 at the bar, but the 2 at the bar were just talking to each other the whole time or on their phones. I was super disappointed unfortunately.

What’s awesome about Brewcakes? Everything. I love the décor. It’s kind of old pub-ish. It’s the perfect place to sit at the bar and enjoy a craft beer. That’s the only kind of beer they have. They don’t sell Bud or Coors. Only craft beers. Most are reasonably priced, but I bought a bottle for $ 25 and didn’t realize. So check the menu before you order. The food is good. I had the habanero dog… and let me tell you: it’s spi-cay. It’s so hot, I had to put it down for a minute to allow my mouth to cool down. It will challenge even the heartiest of spicy food lovers. I’ve also had the When Pigs Fly sandwich with the pulled pork and macaroni and cheese. I got it with a side of sweet potato fries. It was all good stuff and it’s all cooked with alcohol. There’s trivia outside on the patio on Thursday nights. And speaking of the patio, why not sit out there with your well-behaved dog? There’s plenty of parking, but designate a driver if you’re going to imbibe.

Ugh… if there’s one thing I dislike it’s being fooled… being taken a fool. How so… well when I see pictures and the food looks amazing I expect it to taste amazing… just an amazing explosion of flavor in my mouth. So when I bought a groupon for this place I was excited at the prospect of eating good food and having great brews all for a great price. Being a beer drinker I appreciate a good craft beer… especially locally brewed craft beer. Here’s the lowdown… the BLT was lacking in flavor… yes…upon arrival it looked like a flavor explosion… but it fizzled like a faulty firecracker… The chicken sandwich was a sad sandwich… it looked like canned chicken with canned Ortega chilies mixed and put on a bun. Sigh… The beers… well there is a silver lining… great selection of local craft beers. Served cold… Would I recommend this place… well…yes and no. If I’d were to come for the beers and maybe fries yes… but to recommend it for a meal… no. Oh yeah… its next to a police substation so the patrons are well behaved…

I have been here a few times, and have received nothing but the most sterling service and friendly hospitality. Not from the same person either, my experience has been consistent with the staff and the owner as well. Its welcoming enough to feel like the TV show«Cheers.» They are very knowledgeable with all their brews, and if the large selection bedazzles you for a minute and you cant decide, they surely know what to recommend. If your not having a beer, the Iced Tea is better than average. Very refreshing. Could be powder mixed with water for all I know, but I doubt it. Good quality tea. I have had the Carne Asada French Fry Sandwich a few times. It is quite awesome. The texture is juicy inside, crunch outside. But the kind of crunch that isn’t dry, due to the oil, asada juice and guacamole aioli seeping into the nooks and crannies of the Panini bread. Quite an innovation. The«When Pigs Fly» BBQ Sandwich is even more amazing! The sauce is great, the meat is juicy yet firm. It seems the onions are just beginning to caramelize when the put the slices in the sanwich. The Mac-n-Cheese inside the sandwich not only add to the texture, but also act as a filler. It may not look like it when it first gets to your table, but one of these will do the trick. Yummers. The French Fries are quite good, served with a spicy Ketchup. Spicier than you’d think. Bakers aint got nothing on this heat. I found myself dipping every-other fry. These fries are just like the ones I make at home, and my kids always bug me to make. It feels good to now have someone to bug to make for ME. The Smores Funnel Cake is good, and since it is overwhelmingly sweet, its easy to share. My only bit of constructive criticism is the price for what you get. I know its a Gastropub, and its semi-gourmet fare. But I would feel better getting a 3rd side item or a cup of Arugula Salad to go with my $ 13 dollar sandwich w/fries. It would make me feel like I’m getting a better value. That’s all. Not preventing me from coming back whenever I get back into Redlands. The décor is awesome, they dimmed the lights right, and the bathrooms have always been immaculate. My two Sons and I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up!
