Disclaimer: I have no idea about coins… except how to spend them. I was given a random assortment of coins as a gift(that I didn’t want, but couldn’t reject). Assortment of things like wheat pennies, steel war pennies, buffalo nickels… nothing fancy. Bags of them. Sandwich bags. I have had them 20 years and moved 8 times with them because I was always self conscious about bringing them in to a fancy coin shop and dump a bag of pennies out. Jonathan told me to just come in, you never know. He sat down with me and talked to me about coins. He was very honest about what he bought them for and what he sold them for(I mean, you have to make a little money… I get it). We went through most of the coins and Jonathan was nice enough to check in an online database for current coin prices for a couple of special coins I had. It’s a very laid back atmosphere and not intimidating. They had some very cool, old stuff in here as well, not just coins! Stamped letters, collectible Redlands documents and foreign money too. It’s worth popping in for half an hour just to look… kind of like a little museum. Might even be a special place to find a gift for the impossible to shop for people… like Dads and Grandpas. It was a really positive experience and I am glad I went it. Everyone was friendly, I learned some new stuff, kept the business local and walked out with some extra cash for summer!

This place is great! I was referred to this place by another coin store in LA County. Which in my book says a lot. The first thing I liked about it was that they had a selection. So many coin stores these days don’t have a large visible selection and this one did. The staff was great. All the gentlemen working there were very friendly and helpful to all the customers who came in. No snooty attitudes; no I don’t have time for this. Just great customer service. They sell Bullion, US Coins, World Coins and stamps. Have some other stuff too; as well as coin supplies. Cheap coins and some of the moderate priced ones from what I saw. I would recommend this place to anyone new to collecting. The younger men(sons of owner or manager) didn’t seem quite as versed as the older men, but they didn’t act like they did either. If they didn’t know something they admitted it and went to the expert(dad). :) I shall return in hopes of finding that special coin.

Great place! Silver dropped to 16.50 an ounce earlier, so I decided to stop in to buy a couple ounces of Silver rounds. Customer service was quick, and the salesman showed me a variety of rounds to choose from. Left happy with 2 ounces of Silver Buffalo pieces. Way better than ordering online in my opinion, you can see in person what your buying. I will for sure return for more bullion!

Even for a new coin collector their customer service was impeccable. They are willing to go the extra mile to help. With their high knowledge about their products I will continue to deal with them and send more customers there.

Whether it’s buying or selling, Coops is the place. I’ve found great coins, California banknotes, Gold Certificates at great prices here. The help is great as soon as you walk in the door. huge selection of whatever your numismatic heart desires. You can trust the guys here to take good care of you, whether buying or selling precious metals as well. The best shop in So Cal i’ve ever been to.

For buying/selling silver and gold this is the only place in the area I truly trust. They are pleasant and honest. The store is a decent size with a lot of great displays, coins and collector supplies for sale. The younger guys who work in here are really fun, they will engage in conversation and are funny. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking to buy or sell gold/silver. The prices on collectable coins are good as well. The only downsides, which is the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is the parking lot sucks if they’re busy and I don’t think they offer enough to buy collectable coins from private customers. I always get fair market value for gold, but on the one occasion I brought in a key date collectable coin they offered me $ 125. I know they will buy for less than value because they need to turn a profit, but I sold this coin at another venue for $ 535. That is quite a difference. So, to wrap it up, go here for precious metals but do your research if you’re planning on selling a coin and not just junk gold/silver you know is worth weight only.
