This was our first time at Mr. Taco We will be going back. The minute we walked in the door we were greeted warmly by both ladies behind the counter. The cashier was very helpful, pointing out the combo section and explaining what(three items in our case). That we could have with our combos. I chose two enchiladas and a hard shell taco. It was very good. They have a chip bar. They had brought out fresh chips right away when the pans were empty; the plastic container that holds’ the chips was wet(all of them were). I dried them with a napkin. A small thing but would have liked them dry. The salsa that says mild was spicy. I couldn’t wait to try it because it looked so good. Disappointed that it was spicy and could not eat it. My husband who can handle a hotter salsa said it was not mild. We did have a longer wait then we are used to get our food. All the servers were working hard to get the orders out. When we did our meals’ the server who brought it to us was great asking if we needed anything. As I said previously our food was delicious. The only drawback was my beans and rice were barely warm. The server brought me out new ones out right away, a whole plate with rice and beans steaming. The fruit bar looked amazing. Next time I will add that on with my meal. We took home churros with Carmel they were wonderful. Couldn’t wait to get home to eat them. I want to thank the Mr. Taco staff for making our experience a happy one. I will recommend them to my friends.

I’m a huge fan of their menudo soup. It’s served in two sizes(small or large) and I always get the large. I appreciate how it’s served every day and not just weekends. The service is great and there appears to be plenty of seating.

This review is based on service only since I never got to eat my food. Please be prepared this place is ridiculously slow. I think they must slaughter the cows freshly for each taco. I had 30 minutes before an appointment down the street and had been wanting to try this place. I waited in line for about 10 minutes. Two cashiers running, but they kept leaving their register and going to the back, or counting out registers, looking at receipts. You name it. Anything but take orders. Asked her what beer they had on draft, since the menu plainly stated«16oz &32oz Draft beers». Was told rather rudely that they only have bottles. Ummm ok. I placed my order and after 25 minutes I still hadn’t received it. I asked the cashier about it and the cook told her another 10 minutes. 35 minutes for a walk up taco stand with no waitress? GTFO. 35 minutes and I’m still hungry and was late for my appointment.

This is the second time here and I have to say I love it! If your in a rush than its not for you if you come on a Friday night and I can imagine all weekend it’s packed but that can only mean one thing good food! I have tried the mojarra Frita and tostada de Cameron and and tripa tacos and they where all good not the best I had but it’s good. I really liked the service because even though it’s a self serve and self order type of place there is still some one tending to your table. The outside patio is great with many tvs to look at and they play good music but I think what kept us coming back was all the beer selection the 32oz corona familiar that not to many places Carry that I think is the best I also saw a person with a bud light mango-Rita with fresh mango and Chilli powder in it, it looked really good I would like to try it may be after I have my baby!

I’ve been here a few times now and I gave it 3 stars because of its inconsistency. Its like night and day. Literally, it’s been a hot mess at night. Seriously though, It’s either really clean and well stocked(chips, salsa, fruit & soda) or they are out of everything. Their food is really good, there’s no doubt about that. It always comes out hot and fresh, so it’s worth the wait. I would just like to see more consistency with their front of house service. I’d like to know that the fountain drinks will be in good working order and I can have fresh fruit because it’s well stocked and beautiful. You are taking your chances every time you step foot in that place. The staff is also hit and miss. I’ve had amazing and friendly staff and I’ve had rude and stressed out staff. You can clearly see the staff needs some help. I almost feel bad for them racing around the busy restaurant. Bottom line: If you want great Mexican food and can get past their flaws, than this is the place to try! If your big on customer service and don’t like large crowds, stay clear or get it to go.

This is among THEBESTMEXICANCUISINE experience I have ever had at a bodega-style restaurant outside of Mexico. Whenever I am at an authentic Mexican restaurant I order lengua tacos(for my fellow gringas out there, that’s «tongue»). Tongue is a difficult cut of meat because the tongue is one of the strongest muscles of the body(considering the size of the muscle), and unless it is broken down in some way prior to grilling, it will be tough and unpalatable. What was ordered: –lengua taco –chicken taco –2 cokes . Flavor: spot on. Timeliness: accurate. There is a salsa bar that is un-f***ing rivaled at any nearby location. The staff is friendly, yes, even to us white folks. The prices are fair. Bonus: 40 oz. beers. Yup. That’s gangsta. They don’t even offer 12 oz. Go for it.

We were driving by on our way to another place to eat when we saw how different this location looked. Intrigued, we pulled intot the parking lot, which was expanded to fit much more cars, and be more accessable. This used to be a place I would get Philly Cheesesteaks from. Mr. Taco is here now, and he has made his presence known. We walked in and it was like an amusement park of Mexican food. Big bright pictures, lights, a huge menu, fruit stand, salsa bar and chips. Bright colors everywhere, smiling cuties waiting to take your order! We were in awe a little bit. The place was packed, but not so bad that you couldnt find a seat. We let a few people cut us in line until we figured out what our haul for the day would be. Ordered our food, from the VERY friendly and outgoing cashier lady, and the Wife and kids went to go claim a seat. I went to get chips and salsas. They have 3 different types of salsa, and guacatillo. ALL of the salsas are good, they remind me of the salsa at Pollo Campero. I couldnt even pick a favorite, and as I ate them I ended up mixing them together. They even had two types of chips. Older, thicker, dryer chips, and newer, fried, semi-warm chips. This is all just a bunch of yum to me. My Daughters Strawberries and Cream came first. I didnt expect much from this dish, but I was blown away when I tried it! There were plenty of fresh strawberries, but that cream is what makes this item amazing! My Daughter didnt want to share at first, but as she got full, she allowed the rest of us to try. My Son just wanted some Carne Asada Tacos. He said he wanted cilantro and onions on it, as he is coming around to liking those things. He thoroughly enjoyed them, even picking the onions off and eating them in an attempt to impress me. I guess only the tough kids eat onions, who knows? I snagged a bite, and they were pretty good. The tortillas they use on their tacos are a tad buttery, which is cool. My Wife had the Shredded Beef Chimichangas. What a monster plate! Its really 3 whole Chimichangas, cut in half, placed surrounding a large pile of sour cream and guacamole. Cheese just oozes out of the cut ends of these chimis. Fried to perfecton, and full of flavor, these chimichangas didnt disappoint. My Wife couldn’t finish them and she said they were just as good heated up the next morning. I had a few bites, and had a hard time thinking of a better chimi anywhere. SO good. I ordered a Tripas Taco to get the party started in mah belly. These were unlike any tripas I had ever had before. They had the appearance and texture of lightly cooked BACON! The taste was great as well. I chewed my way through this taco with reckless abandon, as it was just SO different yet SO good. Im getting hungry typing about it now. I also ordered a Surf N Turf Burrito. This massive burrito was more like a giant shrimp and steak fajita, than a burrito. The reason I say that is all the green peppers and onions in it. Im not complaining, this burrito was great. The shrimp tasted good, it didnt have too much or too little; although more would have been welcome. The Carne Asada was alright. I could only finish half of this burrito, and when I split the leftovers with my older Son a day later, I was reminded just how good this burrito was all over again. We ordered a BRC Burrito to go. We ate it later that night and liked it a lot. LOTS of cheese, and tasty beans. The rice was there, but we couldnt taste it. I saw a plate of Taquitos being served, and these puppies are huge! Literally looked like three empty paper-towel rolls covered in guacamole were being served, I will definitely try these next time. EVERYSINGLE staff member at this restaurant was exceedingly nice, friendly and welcoming. The cashier, the waitresses, and even the busboy asked how we were doing and asked if they could do anything for me. SUPER professional and made us feel at home. We are already talking about driving back to Redlands for our next visit
