Delicious food however recently my family made reservations(weeks in advance) for a birthday celebration. We received a call thirty minutes prior to our reservation time that they«could not accommodate» us until 45 minutes to an hour later than our reservation. Very inconvenient since dinner service takes several hours and our party had young and old that could not wait that additional time that late in the evening. Very disappointed. Not a good impression for those in the family who had never tried this place. We went to another restaurant who accommodated us just fine with no notice.

Tried this place 3 times. Mixed drinks(specialty cocktails) are great but food is just so expensive. I always get a salad, meat fondue pot and wine and end up spending over $ 50 for one dinner. I can think of so many other places I could spend $ 50 and get a better dining experience. I would recommend this place for drinks with friends though.

Awesome restaurant! Ambience is wonderful. Wait staff is very helpful & nice. Best fondue I’ve had since going to Fondue in Los Gatos over 20yrs ago.

Besides being forgotten(even though we had reservations and we checked in on time) AND being seated in the very, very back of the restaurant were there was no ventilation the food was pretty good. If only I could have enjoyed my meal in a non-smoke filled room. The service was not very good.

I love this place, the waiters I have had are always friendly. The atmosphere is very nice and I love when my husband takes me here on dates. The fondu is expensive but not more expensive than any other fondu place. The food is really great, especially the fosters dessert fondu. Last time I was there I tried the ahi on a hot rock and that was great to, there was so many dipping sauces and the rock also let you cook your food as much or as little as you would like.

i love this restaurant!!! since it opened i have been going once or twice a month. the service is great. the servers are all polite and friendly. they make the whole experience even better! they don’t just take your order and what not, they’ll share a laugh or two with you. really really good people all around. on to the food! i haven’t had ANYTHING here that wasn’t amazing and i’ve tried a bunch of stuff! their wedge salad can not be topped… the dressing alone is something i crave. the cap steak is great. the meat is always quality and when cooked with the merlot butter you can’t go wrong. their dessert options… well… i’m not a chocolate guy, but after trying a few different ones, i can say they really know what theyre doing! their seasonal desserts have always been great also. i love you rok n fondue

Service is great– I’ve been a few times and they sat me before my reservation. I never felt neglected at all either. Food is pretty good. Why not a five star? Read on. Minus a ½ star for their drinks. Unless you like your craft drinks on the deep end of craft, good luck finding one you can drink. And for the kicker. Minus a ½ star for always asking«are you here to celebrate anything?» I just went for my birthday yesterday and my girlfriend told them that. Nobody said happy birthday… Nothing. I’ve been for an anniversary and same thing. You could probably tell them you are going to get married in their restaurant and they wouldn’t congratulate you. You could probably tell them you’re celebrating buying out Rok n Fondue and they wouldn’t even notice. I’m pretty sure Applebee’s will celebrate your birthday with you though.

My choice in downtown Redlands when craving meat that is not your typical steak. This review is for the non-fondue choices. It’s so fun and I love that you can cook your own food at your convenience on the rock whether it be rare, medium, or well done. I love the variety of dpping sauces they provide as well. Ambience: wonderful whether you’re wanting a drink at the bar downstairs while watching a game or want to eat quietly upstairs. Staff: friendly, willing to provide honest recommendations Drinks: Great options, the choices of different flavorings adds a twist to whatever you’re craving Quality: great Quantity: great Only reason for a 4 instead of 5 is because of the smoke that builds up on the second floor from the cooking from the rocks.

Had the rok n cheddar fondue and the peanut butter cup fondue. Both were amazing. I would highly recommend. Very similar to melting pot.

Went for my daughters birthday last December …6 of us. Found portions small and food average but pricey. We all tried different dishes to give the place a whirl. Would not rush back. Waiter and service were good and ambience fine but we mostly eat out for the food… so we were disappointed.

I’m giving it 2 stars only because the restaurant itself is cool and the food was good but the service was horrible. They completely forgot about our food, we waited close to an hour to get our food and only after we asked ?!? There were waiters all over servicing the tables around us walking back and forth throughout the evening and not once did they stop and question why we had not got our food. Horrible service! IF I ever go back I’d be only because like I said I think the restaurant was cool and the food was good, I had the rok.

Came in five mins before the kitchen was closing and they treated us with amazing service! Didn’t seemed rushed it irritated and they took even extra care and time with us once they found out it was our first visit there. Good was amazing and concept was as well. I believe our servers name was Brian but don’t quote me. The girl who started us off was also very informative. Ambiance was impressive. Love the older brick walls and wooden floors. Highly recommend you sit upstairs. Can be very quaint and romantic. Great for small groups or a date night. Quality of meat and cheeses were excellent and the service alone quarantines a 5 star review. Although eating here was clearly out of my budget, I will definitely try to come back. Thank you for an unexpected amazing dinner Rok n Fondue!

I wanted to love this place more than the Melting Pot but it didn’t happen. Its a cool place with a great concept. Its in an area with plenty to walk around and see. The inside is semi casual. Theres a huge bar as soon as you walk in. I didnt get to see the upstairs because its not offered during lunch hours. The service was great. The staff is very knowledgeable about the drinks and food. We started with heese fondue which was exactly like Melting Pot. It was good of course. My husband got a steak sandwich as a second choice because they didnt have his first choice of a burger. You cook the meat on a hot rock slab. Its pretty cool. It cooks quickly too. The side options for lunch were boring. Either coleslaw or potato chips. I had potato chips and they were bland. The dipping sauces that come with the steak are good variety and plenty to choose. The fondue dessert we got was Oreos and cream. I didnt like it but thats my fault because I prefer white chocolate and settled for the milk chocolate that came with it. Id like to go again for dinner and try some different options.

I really enjoyed my time here. My husband and I don’t get a lot of time together so when we do, we like to try new places to eat! Everything was perfect other than my waitress disappearing for literally 30 minutes at a time. Our main course sides were cold as a consequence to that. Luckily we had the time. She explained she was thrown into 7 other tables, so it sucked in that aspect. But the food was delicious, the drinks were great, the service(her personality) was great, she recommended a lot of stuff for us which we ended up getting and loved. The place was clean and quiet. I will definitely go back. I just hope I won’t have to be there for over two hours because of them throwing their staff in areas they weren’t placed at before. *update 12-28-2015 We went again and it was another wait. I guess they just don’t have the staff to cover all the tables. The guy who seated us was quite rude this time around, which was odd because everyone else there is very sweet. We stood in the front for 20 minutes before even being acknowledged by the host. Our food was still tasty, and our waitress was sweet(we got the same waitress as last time). We will be going back to this place because of the food quality but the wait times for everything should be fixed ASAP. I truly don’t like sitting around for HOURS, especially when I have work the next day.

Went on 10÷29÷15. Place was empty but we had to wait 10 minutes because staff wasn’t there yet, as the host explained. They say us upstairs and we tried the aged cheddar fondue appetizer since we had our small child with us and that was the closest thing to something a kid would eat. They came out and dumped a very small cup of shredded cheese and some oil of some sorts into the fondue bowl. The cheese was like you find in a bag of shredded Mexican cheese from the grocery store and we got maybe half a cup. They gave us some cubes of bread that were stale, dry, and bland. Additionally was a very small cup with some raw fruit and veggies. It was the size of a small side of fruit that you would get as a small side at breakfast. We ran out of cheese before we ate the small amount of things to dip in it just so you have an idea of how little cheese you get. Very overpriced and unimpressive. For the main course I got the NY strip on a «rok» and my wife got crab cakes. The strip was probably 6 ounces and came with a small scoop of potatoes and another small side. The steak cooks on the rock until you want to eat it. It was like an unimpressive version of Ruth’s Chris’ 500 degree plates, but unlike Ruth’s Chris’ the steak was tiny and not very good. It was dry but seasoned well. They also give you 6 sauces to try. Impressive since the steak takes like 12 small bites to eat. I jokes that it costs more because you have to cook it yourself. Not worth $ 29 at all! My wife enjoyed the crab cakes but it was also small for what you got. I noticed that our waiter was also helping another few tables and a full party room on the south side of the restaurant. We sat for about 35 minutes after eating(and not seeing the waiter since food was delivered) waiting to pay. We even stood up and packed up our belonging in hopes that they would notice us. Note that we were right by the stairs too so it wasn’t like we were hidden. I finally asked another waitress to get the check. All in all it was not impressive, way overpriced for what you got, pseudo high quality, and poorly managed. Not worth it at all.

Rok N Fondue is another great addition to the lineup of restaurants in Downtown Redlands. It’s the great place to have dinner whether on a date or a large group! We celebrated a bachelorette dinner here in their upstairs private dining room. It overlooked State Street and we had the best seat in the house! ROK Entrées: * Shrimp & Scallops — Really good! * Garlic Herb Chicken — This was just average. It came with quinoa and was good; although, it didn’t stand out. The side of garlic mashed potatoes were good though! * Filet Mignon — Tenderly juicy cut of filet. The best! * Fresh Alaskan Crab Cakes — Generously packed with real crab meat! It was moist and delicious with the sauce! Cheese FONDUE: * Rok N Cheddar — This was my favorite because it had a ton of garlic! Imagine: aged cheddar and swiss cheeses with a light domestic beer base, and minced garlic! It was good whether with chips, bread, veggies, or even apples! * Spinach Artichoke — This was good too! * Pesto — This one was really good! Drinks — Delicious!!! It’s not the best place to bring a stroller/walker/wheelchair because it’s a smaller venue. Although our service was spotty, our party had a great time and we enjoyed the food!

Came here on a Friday evening; had a reservation for 7:30. They gave us the best seats in the house if you ask me(overseeing the bar and entrance. Far enough where we can hear the live music, but still have a conversation without raising our voices). We started with a cheese fondue; pretty standard compare to other fondue locations. Now for our dinner entrées we went with the rok; I had the cap sirloin and that bad boy had some great flavor. Also ordered the side of mushrooms for a few bucks more(One order is enough to share) and shrimp(the side comes with 4 jumbo shrimp). I ordered potatoes for my sides and they were great as well. Never had some good o’ moonshine; this place made that experience possible(I would recommend the strawberry flavor). They also carry a few local craft beers available on tap or they have most other brands in bottle. Overall this was a great experience. What put the cherry on top of our experience here was when our server brought over two glasses of champagne and a card from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary(Definitely went far and above). Ladies and gentlemen, this is a nice venue to bring that special person to celebrate an anniversary. Service was okay, but when I ponder and combine everything into a package, they receive 5 stars for our overall experience.

Aside from briefly feeling like the hostess could’ve accommodated us just a tad better I had a very positive experience here. The waitstaff took great care of us and the three of us got out having eaten more than we should have for about $ 90 including tip. I thought that sitting around and waiting for each bite to cook would annoy me but I was full by the time we finished and the cooking time turned into a great conversation facilitator. We spent almost two hours talking and cooking and I barely noticed the time go by. I would recommend throwing everything in and then fishing it out over cooking a bit at a time but whatever floats your boat. The bar, and the décor of the restaurant is beautiful. I wish my home looked so good.

Rok N Fondue is a cool little two story fondue restaurant. The décor inside is pretty neat. There are natural brick walls and interesting lighting. You have to start off with the cheese. I prefer the good old cheddar. Who doesn’t love melted cheese? If you are a meat eater, I suggest the rock. I’m a vegetarian, but used to eat meat. I’ve heard the rock is amazing. You can cook it how you like it on a heated stone. Pretty neat! I personally love the vegetarian fondue. Veggies dipped in sauces are great! For dessert, I love the dark chocolate. It’s sinfully delicious, especially if you’re a chocolate person. Love this place!

This restaurant is amazing! I definitely prefer this place over The Melting Pot any day. Honestly I did not go into this experience expecting much because I did not have a very good experience at The Melting Pot and since those locations are consistently closing down I didn’t know how a stand alone fondue restaurant would do. I was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance was great, and I loved that we could sit upstairs and look down at the bar area while we ate. They also had a saxophone player come and play almost until closing which was nice. Mo was our waiter and he was great! He explained everything to us and made great suggestions. I prefer the fondue over the rock because I get more options with the fondue. On the other hand the rock was good too, but you only get one meat and two sides. But I did take the veggies that came with my fondue and let them cook on the rock after they had been in the fondues broth which was really good. This place was similar to The Melting Pot in that they had the same types of dipping sauces for the main course, which were really delicious. The cheese fondue starters and the chocolate fondue desserts were delicious as well, I just wish there were more of each. In the beginning they give you more things to dip into the cheese than they give you cheese. As for dessert, I like how they give you a plate full of options to dip into your chocolate, but I hate bananas and personally I don’t like dipping brownies that are super sweet into even more sugar such as melted chocolate. I would prefer they give you an option of things to dip so that I don’t just end up leaving things on the plate to go to waste. Overall this place was great! The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I will definitely be back soon with friends. #14/100
