Came in recently for food and drinks with friends. Food was so so, the corn muffin was soggy and gross. By far the issue I had was the bar service. It was evident the minute we approached the bar that the tender wasnt going to be much help, and he moved like a sloth. He was so disinterested in being friendly or even taking orders it was a joke. We always felt like we were bothering him by trying to flag him down at a half empty bar for a beer. At least the beer was cold, but nobody likes feeling unwelcome at a bar. And the smell. Everything smelled like bleach. The tables reeked of it, even my water glass smelled weird. Im done with the Bayou.

I took my family there and we enjoyed a great meal. The jambalaya had the most delicious oysters, the kids burgers were huge, and corned beef my wife ordered had copious amount of veggies. The kids also loved playing darts.

The shrimp and oyster gumbo was spicy but lacked flavor. The étouffée lacked flavor as well. Hush puppies were very good. It’s been a while since we have been here, food was much more flavorful before. Service was great as before.

Enjoyed the chicken wings, but dint like garlic shrimp or etoufee we ordered… had to use kids cheese sandwich to share among us. the waiters were nice and smiling. we just couldn’t eat with all the flavors. .garlic shrimp an entrée was also filled in gravy in a bowl. i wish the shop had more colourful discription of their menu card. so that ppl won’t get so depressed after finding something least expected. thanks for the service.

With Groupon in hand, I came here for dinner tonight. It wasn’t fancy or exceptional in any way, but it was good, actually better than good, and reasonably priced. I ordered a «Celtic» chef salad with lemon vinaigrette on the side. When it was presented to me, I was very surprised to see blackened chicken on it(I didn’t order chicken on it). They comped it for me. I tried a bite of it. It was perfectly cooked, moist, and SOSOSPICY! I can only say, if you like Cajun spicy food, this would totally float your boat! For me, it was way WAY too much. I removed it from my salad, but alas, the chicken left a lingering(and for me, overpowering) trace of spiciness to the fresh lettuce. I couldn’t really eat it. But there were lots of beautiful halved grape tomatoes, a sliced hard-boiled egg, amazingly good crispy thick chunks of bacon(NOT greasy at all, perfectly cooked), and a delicately sliced avocado. The dressing was overpoweringly citrusy-tart. I couldn’t really eat that, either(nor could my kid). But despite these more minor setbacks, the salad was good, and fresh and generously portioned; I brought ¾ of it home for my hubby.(He will LOVE the spicy chicken, for sure!). My kid had a cheeseburger which she said was delicious and she inhaled it! It had large slabs of bacon, too(wonderful bacon here!), and excellent fries(also not greasy in the least). Our server, Rachel, was as lovely as can be, and service really couldn’t have been better. The women’s bathroom was a little sketchy. The toilet was running and I was fearful it wouldn’t flush(thankfully, it did, though). The owners would be wise to update the washroom facilities here. It looked like there was a cute outdoor dining area outside the back door, and I liked the fireplace and the books on Ireland and all the framed photos of the Irish countryside. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and again, when we left. All in all, we had a great experience here and I’m sure I’ll be back.

What happen! Please bring back the dishes and quality when you opened. Haven’t been there in a while and was shocked to see how runner down it looked in the inside. Tables were sticky and ordered our favorite dishes which just was’t good. It didn’t taste fresh and maybe a different recipe on the jambalaya ?? So sad to see the food and cleanliness down. Hoping the owners bring up both and plan to be back at a later date to try again and write an updated review. Not recommending at this time.

Worst service ever! Before I even arrived and had a chance to order anything my friend Jodie text me to let me know the kitchen would be closing in 15 minuets. My dinner companion and I still decided to join the other 4 people already waiting. I will say I thought an Irish and Cajun restaurant sounded like an odd combination, however I did have hope for the food. When the waiter arrived he was rude. When my friend Jodie asked him what he would recommend he said what do you want. She explained that she couldn’t decide between the two dishes she chose and what would he choose. He said well what do you want you need to decide the kitchen is closing. I’ve been in the service industry for the last 14 years. Even if the kitchen is closing you still treat your last customers as if they were your first. Moving on, she did pick a dish. He went around the table finish taking our orders. For those that ordered water it took over 20 minuets to get. I will say that I did something that you should never do, I called the place and asked to bring me water. He did 10 minuets later when the food was done. He threatened us after the food was done saying do that again and you’ll have to leave. At that point we didn’t even want food. I had to wait 30 minuets for water and I had to deal with his attitude prior to even placing an order. Again I will admit I calling is a bad move, but you never threaten your customers or rather make them feel as if they have been threatened. I didn’t try any food, i didn’t want too. We were all thinking about walking out; if you are thinking about walking out you shouldn’t touch the a friend told me once. Not sure if that’s actually true. Normally I would go back and try the food, however the customer service was so bad I will not try this place again.

Okay… I came here intentionally with my family. Because I read reviews although the reviews weren’t amazing, I was interested in the two culture blends of food & how they pulled it off. Point blank period … Never got far enough because in the time it took my family & I to walk into the restaurant my husband to use the bathroom & come back as my son & I stood there. We go NOABSOLUTELYNOSERVICE. Won’t be back.

I had lot of expectation and was looking for some good healthy option. I have to think twice if ever want the come. Atmosphere is not suitable for family kids. It was our first experience.

Best hush puppies we have found thus far. They come with honey butter just like the south. My girlfriend’s favorite food is hush puppies and I’ve search high and low for some like the south. The restaurant it’s cute and very cozy. When you first walk in there are booths, which threw us off at first, but a few feet ahead was the host desk. We were quickly sat and in a friendly manner. A fireplace, an old piano, wood walls and plenty of bar décor surround our table. Our waiter was prompt and very friendly. Joking with us about our IDs and in no way rushed us. I asked about the beer selection since their on tap beers are local. I ordered an Issaquah White Frog and it was delicious. We will definitely be coming back :) Probably for a game since they have plenty of TVs

Great beer selection, fast wifi, love the menu but wish they mixed it up a bit now and then. Décor hasn’t changed since 1994, but staff is always friendly and attentive.

This place is a very strange approximation of things. I like Irish food. I LOVE Cajun food. I think this place does okay on both of them, but not great on either. I went here for lunch with a friend on his suggestion. The Hurricane I ordered(Because if you’re a Cajun place, there is no way in anything that you shouldn’t be able to make a good Hurricane.) was meh. It was not great. If anything, I’d like to forget it. The catfish filet I got was decent. Nothing to write home about. It tasted okay, but the texture was a bit less firm than I would have liked. The hushpuppies were on the small side, and a bit more dense than I would have liked. The sweet-potato fries were fair. Nothing special. I don’t know what else to say about this one. The waitress was very pleasant, but seemed somewhat disinterested in us. She did her job well, but not with anything resembling enthusiasm. I will say that I really wanted to like this place. The Seattle area has always embraced ‘fusion’ cuisine, and I was actually hoping for something more of a blend of the two genres, at least somewhere around the edges. All in all it was an acceptable experience, but not one I’m in a hurry to repeat.

Miserable place for food. It wasn’t cosy or comfortable, the lighting was like sitting in a railway station, the food was no more Irish than Attila the Hun. The guy serving me tried to persuade me of its authenticity but I am Irish and in my 40 plus years of living in Ireland never saw or heard of half the stuff they were passing as the real thing. Wouldn’t go back unless every other restaurant in the area closed down. I’m sure it’s great for beers, and maybe they’re just trying to do too much under the one roof.

Why isn’t this place busier for lunch?! Food is fresh, speedy and delicious. Dani helped us make yummy choices for lunch. I had the shrimp po boy with a cup of seafood chowder, and the boyfriend had the blackened chicken sandwich with a cup of chowder as well. The shrimp pro boy was great, lots of breaded shrimp on a very fresh delicious hoagie bun. My bf all really liked his blackened chicken sandwich with the soup. The soup was also great. Good flavor and not too overpowering. Lots of beer on tap. Check out this place for trivia nights, open mics and live music. We will definitely be back. Thanks Dani for amazing service with a smile!

The Irish — Cajun combo is a fun idea, but Irish food… just isn’t that good, and the Cajun is off. Jambalaya, Gumbo, and Étouffée are markedly different foods, and yet here, along with being ‘wrong’, they are all pretty similar in consistency. I suppose overall here, these three dishes come closest to being a cross(consistency-wise) between Jambalaya and Étouffée. I’m definitely not impressed with their cajun food. The spicy shrimp appetizer is pretty good and get extra bread! Way back when they had their own beer, but that’s over now. Still a decent selection, a homey pub atmosphere, and a small outdoor patio, partly covered. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here, and certainly not for the food, but if you’re in the area, and need a bar, maybe you should call AA. No seriously, you want a beer, maybe to watch some sports, this’ll do.

The menu intrigued me because I love spicy Cajun food but this place was a little less than what I hoped. The service was good and the environment was very clean. When we got our food, I was pretty happy to see the main dish and meat was cooked perfectly but I think they skimmed on the vegetables side. The portions were pretty large but the overall meal wasn’t anything worth getting again.

Meh — this is a fine place to come for a beer and some pub bites(mozz sticks, fries, nachos, etc). There isn’t much vibe, doesn’t have anything too special. We went on a Friday around 6:30pm for a pre-dinner drink and app. We ordered the appetizer crawfish boil — not recommended. The crawfish was over boiled and lacked any flavor(if you crave crawfish, head to White Center and hit up Crawfish House). We also ordered mozzarella sticks which were gooey and delicious. Probably will only come back for convenience but there are other pubs closer that have more vibe. This place left me feeling bored and wanting more…
