I am really NOT surprised that this restaurant is now closed. I work nearby. We used to go here for lunch. The service was REALLY bad, like no one cared about their job. The wait times were just ridiculous especially for lunch, and even when the restaurant was practically empty! I never understood how you could wait so long for food when there are no customers!(hmmmm, maybe no cooks in the kitchen, go figure). Well anyway I hate to see a big empty building in Redmond Town Center but maybe some else will move in.

UPDATE: got home, while trying to take pepto ended up seeing my lunch again. Unbelievable. Hope rest of the family gets through this with just upset stomach. Terrible. Never coming back, even if it was free. Take your money some place else. Disappointing doesn’t begin to cover it. «Food» was awful, nasty after taste that lingered for 30 minutes, extremely slow, and it took forever to get a table even though it was half empty just after lunch hour. From conversations we couldn’t help overhearing around us, we were far from the only ones so this wasn’t a fluke but by that time we had already ordered. Sitting here with a wildly churning stomach, wondering how these guys stay in business.

This place is one of my favorite restaurants in washington but there are a few bad things about it. I’d say the main problem this place has is that the atmosphere lacks heart(the loud pop music doesn’t help) and it has that obscure, suburban chain feel to it. Strange but great place!

STAYAWAY We ordered nachos, no onion, wife has allergies. Food came out covered in basil. Who puts basil on nachos??? Sent those back. Waitress was really rude. Wife ordered steak tips. They came out without vegetables and the rest of the trimmings. Wife called waitress over and she says, you asked no sauce so I assumed no vegetables. REALLY??? they certainly didn’t take anything off the bill, but were quick to remove things from her meal. We will NEVER go back, this place is so AWFUL. They have messed up our meals more than once and we will no longer waste our money on this place. It use to be good.

Went today for the Brunch Buffet. We walked in a little before noon(buffet is until 2 pm) and were seated pretty quickly. We informed the hostess that we were going to have the buffet and asked if we needed to wait for our server. She said no, so we went to fill our plates. First thing we encountered were empty chafing dishes. A lot of them. Second thing we encountered was dried out food, apparently the food had not been changed out for awhile. There was a lot of employees milling around but not anyone seemed to be doing much. No one was cleaning the different stations which were pretty trashed. The«communal» butter dishes were pretty disgusting. I wondered how many people had wiped the serving knife onto their food. I scraped together enough bits and pieces for a plate and put in my omelet order. The food was distinctly not good. Other than the omelet, the only items that truly tasted fresh were in the salad bar. The bacon was paper thin. The waffles hard. The eggs on the benedict were hard boiled not poached(they WILL continue to cook if left too long in a chafing dish) and the ham was dry and curling. While we were there, we saw nothing being refreshed. I watched the two dried out end pieces of pizza sit there for almost an hour without being replaced. Desserts were demolished by a group of kids and no one replenished them. When I got back to our table my husband had ordered us water and me a cup of coffee. We waited. Then we waited more. We watched our server joking around with other servers. Finally, my husband got up found another server and asked for water. Which, I am happy to say she delivered quickly. We asked her about coffee and several minutes later our server finally showed up with my coffee, 20 minutes into our meal. This buffet tasted like a cheap hotel breakfast buffet. Certainly not what I would expect for $ 18 a person. I understand the restaurant wanting to not dispose of too much food at 2 pm but not putting anything out for the last hour was unacceptable. I don’t expect we will be returning.

Thanks to the amazing server we had(Natalie), my faith in this restaurant is restored. I had been here many times in the past, for the last 15 years, and have seen the service decline drastically, especially in the bar. Today the experience was like the old days. Very attentive server with a smile and positive attitude. The food was the same as it ever was, good, not great. We gave it another try because my daughter insisted, I’m happy she convinced me. I’m only hoping all of the servers are as fantastic as Natalie, if they are, I’m back as a loyal customer.

David, the weekend bartender, is friendly and hospitable. At his suggestion, we tried the fried mac n cheese, and the bbq jalapeños shrimp. Mmmmmmmm. Excellent choices, a bit sweet and spicy. Stop by and catch the game, have a drink, and some awesome food.

Horrible food. The salads were gross and the chicken was super freezer burn. Waste of time

Surprised to find myself here before an appointment at Gene Juarez, I needed a Sunday morning bite. Ended up with a great appetizer and the perfect Bloody Mary. Really good service too so if you find yourself ok with massive but good, easy to choose, non fancy food, this is the place.

I’m here right now ready to shove my fork into my face. I’m very frustrated with our waiter he walked past me 6 times even came to the table to drop off my bbq sauce. My cup is empty ask me if I want a refill. The bbq sauce is so disgusting and spicy can’t wash it down with a drink cause my glass is empty. The chicken tenders are very dry and boring tasting. –_– second and last time here. The mozz sticks are just like any other nothing special about them. The burger tasted like straight pickles even thought it was ordered plain.

I guess I forgot how bad the food was so I returned for happy hour. The waiter was at our table immediately but since we needed more time to decide, we asked him to give us some time. He gave us a lot more time than we needed… lol. about 10 minutes. We waited patiently while he chatted with the manager. Once he showed up, he was very friendly and obliging. I’m always testing the boundaries — ordered Jamaican Jerk chicken sweet potato: slow roasted sweet potato stuffed with shredded chicken, green onions, Red peppers, cilantro, papaya relish, lemon and a drizzle of honey. This was delicious although the spicy chicken overpowered the other flavors. Will still order this again. Complimentary bread which was delicious. Caesar salad: delicious. The food made up for my previous visit.

Oh, my god. Huge, hearty American restaurants like this(with a Western theme to boot, har har) always make me happy and very, very full. It’s the kind of restaurant I’d only be able to frequent once a month ATMOST, but it’s a great place to be. \\ FOOD/DRINK QUALITY: I ordered the chicken pot pie since it looked so appealing, and I got a soup to start(chicken tortilla). My whole table got the pot pie bar one, and my huge group(20+) ordered a variety of dishes. My soup was surprisingly thick — it was pretty tasty, and the flavors were spot-on, but it was not the thin, refreshing chicken tortilla I was expecting. It was more like a creamy chowder. The pot pie was so heavy. The crust was great, but the pie literally seemed bottomless. The inside was so creamy, and I was probably full after one bite. Don’t get me wrong — it was delicious, but it was way too much. I probably clawed through about ¼ of it before giving up. It seemed like that was the general consensus in portion size at this restaurant. \\ SERVICE: Seating was our own fault — we came with a group of 20 and no reservation, and they were kind enough to let us seat ourselves in the«saloon» area, so we split up into little groups and sat together. The food took FOREVER, but again, it was the downfall of coming in a group without warning. They were very friendly though, and had no complaints about our sudden arrival. \\ ENVIRONMENT: Think Western. I was wondering where the name«claim jumper» came from, but stepping inside gave me the answer. It’s dark and group-friendly, and has a bar feel to it as well. A nice place to go with family and friends!

Got to say the service was very good. Our server was new, and she owned it she took care of us and we got everything we needed. Checked in on us the perfect amount of times. The appetizer they supply the garlic bread? Was a perfect addition to the clam chowder soup I got as my side. Very good bread crisp and not even what I ordered. The chower was nice and thick it had a wonderful taste. My main dish I got the chicken pot pie, the portion was great! Enough for two people at least. But since I’m small could be for three. I liked the baked part of the outside but I got to say I’ve had better pot pies. Theirs didn’t really have too much flavor but it had what all pot pies need which was the meat. Chicken potatoes vegetables had it all just needed a little tweak of taste. I’d recommend this place to visit if your looking for good portions and a fun environment!

Went to claim jumper with a large group. The quality of food appeared to vary greatly. The steaks looked awesome, and the chicken fried steak was over cooked. Just average quality.

I used to avoid this Claim Jumper because of the big crowd waiting for tables; last night, it was the only place at RTC that didn’t have a wait — if we were willing to sit in the«saloon.» There was a 30 minute wait for the other tables. Same menu. Well, okay, I’m confused, but since we were starved, we sat, immediately, in the Saloon. The décor is sort of prefab rustic, with massive tree-trunk pillars and wood beams, and a Wild West theme throughout. The staff from beginning to end was super helpful and attentive, noticing when my glass was nearly empty and bringing a refill before I had to ask, among other things. The food is so-so. We started with calamari, which is okay — previously frozen and served in strips rather than rings. My daughter had a potato soup that we both liked. I had a California citrus salad entrée that was fairly good, and my daughter had fish and chips. The portions are massive — we could have easily shared an entrée, instead we brought most of hers home. The ketchup that came with her meal had a weird, unpleasant aftertaste. The menu has about a gazillion choices, so it’s a good choices if you’ve got a crowd, and it’s definitely kid-friendly.

Slow. Garbage. The food quality and service quality go hand in hand. Avoid. Many other options offer better quality food with better, faster service. The last two visits had our family of four there for almost 2 painful hours.

Claim Jumper used to really impress me. I remember being thoroughly satisfied with some of the food here… back in 2007. Fast forward to the year 2014, and this place simply sucks. It’s not that the food here has gotten worse; in fact, the food is probably the one thing that this restaurant gets right. But Claim Jumper tries so hard to pretend to be something it’s not, and it just ends up falling flat on its face. Let’s start with the abysmal wait times, which had to occur twice for me. Getting offered a seat while standing near the entrance was no problem for me. The problem was how the inattentive waitress managed to completely neglect me for twenty minutes. The rest of the wait staff here did the same, even after I had clearly made eye contact with them. Did they just not care? Why were they purposely ignoring me? Don’t they kind of make money from customers if they’re working at a restaurant? I got so fed up with waiting that I just got up from my seat and walked back to the entrance AGAIN so that the waitress could turn her attention to me AGAIN. I don’t think she even recognized me as the same guy she had seated twenty minutes earlier and who was still waiting to place an order. If I had just sat there and waited, I probably would have starved to death and they wouldn’t even notice the rotting corpse in the restaurant. The food took another twenty minutes to arrive, which is a real bummer. I don’t know why Claim Jumper prides itself on taking so long to accomplish something so simple. But at least I got my food eventually, and it wasn’t bad. I mean it wasn’t good, and it certainly wasn’t a lot of food for $ 21.99. That salmon dinner was pathetic and consisted only of a slice of salmon, some rice, and some squash. If this had been part of a three-course meal or something, that would have been okay, but this was a standalone entrée for $ 21.99. Absolutely ridiculous. At least that scatterbrained waitress did not give me any attitude, at least not overtly. But this restaurant messes up on so many basic things that it’s embarrassing. Dreadfully long waits, criminally overpriced food, dirty silverware, and no paper towels in the bathroom are just some of the reasons that Claim Jumper deserves a negative review. I sincerely hope they can fix some of these problems if they hope to stay in business.

We came here specifically for the happy hour food deals. I knew they had big portions for meals, so I had high hopes for the appetizer deals. We sat in the bar area with our kids, no problems. But service? Our server was at another table so someone else got us started. Guess what… the server stayed busy with that ONE table for the entire time we were there. Our other guy was rushing around like crazy to deal with everyone else. Server who never did but one table needs to learn to serve/manage tables better. And restaurant should have brought another person over to help in that area… Ok, so when we did get drinks/food it was good. We enjoyed the happy hour specials choices. We got a little of everything. All was tasty. Kids really enjoyed and want to go back. I would try it again in hopes of better service. Otherwise we had a nice evening meal here.

Claim Jumper is obviously a chain, and like most chains, has its good points and it’s bad ones. Unfortunately, this particular branch of the chain has poor management and the food is suffering as a result. On my visit to this location, I ordered mozzarella sticks, a bowl of potato soup, and a piece of their enormous chocolate cake. The mozzarella sticks were way more greasy than I’m used to, and I really don’t know what causes that. When the server delivered the potato soup, it was so gross that I had to send it back. It had developed a thick nasty layer of skin on top and it looked disgusting. I was shocked that it even made it out of the kitchen. Afterwards, I was given a fresh bowl, which was so watery that it was difficult to get down. I usually finish an entire bowl of this soup and I couldn’t even get down a third of it that night. The normally crunchy potato skin pieces on top that add so much to the texture of the soup were chewy, the soup was runny garbage, and the whole thing wreaked of kitchen laziness. Given this experience, I doubt I will be back. Our server was nothing to brag about either – she took far too long between table visits and the whole thing was just plain frustrating.
