What a nice, quiet place to shoot pool without the loud, obnoxious bar crowd. Lots of tables. Open during reasonable hours. You will find some serious pool and snooker players here, but at least you know this place is good for practicing or a good time. Notes of wisdom: They don’t have a kitchen but you can order yummy food from downstairs. They will even deliver it up to the pool hall. My friends and I love coming here. My buddy can even bring his 13 year old kid in. Not many pool halls will allow minors.

Went in there to play pool around 3pm, which granted is probably not a busy hour, but the only person in there to assist us was asleep on the couch. Needless to say, instead of awkwardly waking up the guy, who should be awake anyways, we ended up leaving.

What a neat little place! Empire is easy to miss because it’s tucked away in a corner of a little shopping/restaurant complex, and doesn’t have a large sign to boot. If you manage to find your way in, you won’t regret it. Spending an evening here is like playing pool in someone’s large, large living room – with bubble tea to boot. There is no alcohol served, so people of all ages are welcome, and the best part is that this is as far as you can get from playing pool in a seedy bar. It’s a great way to kick back with a game or two without accidentally spilling beer on the cue ball and struggling to recover from that disastrous moment. You pay for however long you play, so you don’t have to waste money or wait out the whole hour if you just want a quick game. I’ll definitely be back!

Best pool hall I’ve found in the Washington area so far, friendly owner, great tables, super atmosphere, truly a player’s pool hall
