The bread is coming back to you via the mail, complete with photos. What the gob of stuff in the middle is, I have no idea. Non eatable…

The decorated cakes here are adorable and the buns/pastries that we tried were quite good for the most part. Everything here is wrapped in plastic and seems pretty fresh, but I believe it isn’t baked locally(labels carried a Southern California location on it). That may be why the items don’t quite measure up to Regents bakery just across the street. They definitely bake their items fresh and it shows. Nevertheless, I like the Asian style sweet buns. The green tea bun here was excellent with the matcha flavor coming through really well. I also enjoyed the Hawaiian red bean bun(which had whole red beans instead of just a paste). The kids liked the sponge cake slices(one vanilla, one chocolate), although they found the chocolate one a bit bitter(I thought it was great myself as it wasn’t too sweet –but for kids the sweeter the better). The only item that didn’t work was some sort of sesame roll. It had a really strange leathery texture and we didn’t even finish it although it was quite small. I would likely come back, but am in no hurry to do so particularly since Regents is right there.

Gotta pay homage to their Pineapple cakes — really fresh and moist tasting! Better than what my family brings from Taiwan!

Not too many options like normal Chinese bakeries. I’m not sure what they bake in house because all my pastries had California stickers. Their round sponge cake was bad and tasted a little sour. The triangle sponge cake had mold spots!!! I’m not going back.

A very drool-worthy, sparkling, small space filled with lots of tempting pastries. The Hokkaido Chiffon was so light and delicious — heavenly. I had purchased their pastries at Uwajimaya, so I’m glad to have found the source.

High quality. Neat. Very respectful and kind staff. High level of Hygiene. I love the fact that they do not make the breads and cookies too sweet, unlike many many places. Low sugar adds prestige to taste and obviously people in the kitchen owns that prestige.

Review is for the Coconut Bun: ehhh…its just bleh. It looked nice on the display table while at Uwajimaya. So I decided to get one… tasted like plain ol’ bread. Dont let the photo fool you… as soon as you take a bite or tear it apart, you’ll notice there isnt any coconut inside. Pretty weak. Its mainly all on the top part for presentation. I guess if you eat the direct center looking for that maximum flavor output you may have some luck there, but pretty much the rest is swing & a miss for me. After looking at their address, I’ve been to this place before for their grand opening a year or so ago… they have specials like 3 for $ 5 or some isht… but nothing memorable.

Kiki is probably the most authentic Chinese bakery I’ve seen on the Eastside. The aroma of fresh bread, the trays with tongs, the neatly packaged cookies, the extravagantly decorated cakes – I’m drooling just thinking about it. My favorite breads to get are the taro loaf, dried pork sung roll, cupcake, and pineapple bun. Price is not bad as well!

My son went to the boba store and I went to check out Kiki bakery. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice clean store, with trays of appealing Taiwanese breads. I bought more than I should, I wanted to try them all. The green tea with red beans bread is good. The pineapple cakes, not so great, the dough is too thick for me, I am used to Sheng Kee’s taste(we are from California). But what I am hooked on is the almond cookies. Nice crunchy French style tuiles aux amandes. I bought that and the ones with sesame seeds too. As long as I am in Bellevue, I will go to Kiki bakery for the almond cookies. Might even buy to bring home too! Excellent pleasant service.

I arrived 10 minutes before closing on a Friday night and bought a whole bunch of buns that are still left on the shelf. The staff was friendly in answering my questions. The bread was pretty good. I will be back in I am ever in the area. Oh — one tip — they only accept credit cards for amount 10 dollars or above.

The service was awesome, hands down. Maybe I just came up from California hah… Ordered a cake here and it wasn’t the ugly cake in the thumbnail #thankgod. The staff were super speedy and efficient. Didn’t feel rushed at all tho. The tasty bread were also five start worthy ! I’ll be coming here a lot forsure ! Keep it up Kiki

Kiki is a decent bakery in Redmond, on par(at least the non-cakes) with Regent across the street. They have a pretty decent selection of sweet and savory pastries. Plenty of people stop by Kiki after grabbing their bubble tea at Tapioca Express next door. Hard to compare to the cheaper and better bakeries in Vancouver, but Kiki is a decent option in Redmond.

Impressive!!! Very friendly service and variety of pastries! I looked up Unilocal reviews for this place and was worried about some complaints about how the pastry’s ingredient was missing(like salt or sugar). I went in there because it was my fiancés birthday so I wanted to get him a light but delicious cake with pretty decoration and I was satisfied with what I got! According to other Unilocalers, their pastries are always different– it depends on the bakers what design/type of cake they want to bake. I came across the Black Forrest. The decoration said it all. Chocolate and fruit. The outer layer of cake was covered in chocolate sprinkles while the top part of cake was white with variety fruit in the center of the cake. I was also surprised it came with the cutting knife and little paper plates with tiny forks which was awesome – didn’t expect that. It was about $ 30. I bought some candles as well(used to Korean bakeries it comes with knife and candles). Wasn’t too bad candles were about $ 1.30. When I cut the cake I was surprised that the cream filling had variety fruit in it! My fiancé and his friends loved it so much they ate another piece. It’s very light and fluffy and not heavy at all. That’s the reason why I like Asian cakes– it doesn’t make me feel fat. And it’s not too sweet either– it’s perfect :) Love the service, the decoration, and the flavor! 4 stars!!!

I have no idea whether this store’s name is a direct reference to the movie«Kiki’s Delivery Service.» Actually, it probably is. Ah, it doesn’t matter. What you have here is a bakery in Redmond that sells Taiwanese bread and pastries. The bakery smells wonderful, and the food is both delicious and authentic. Their bread tastes pretty much like the kind I’ve had in Taiwan, and I’m impressed that they’re able to replicate it so well over here. Their pineapple buns and rousong buns are particularly good. They also have cakes here which I have yet to sample. I usually go to Regent for my cakes, but I have to make it a point to try the ones here as well. Overall, a satisfying and very fragrant bakery. It is rather small though, and so is their selection as a result. That’s about the only thing I would count against them, though.

My walk down memory lane appeared when I walked in because I saw everything I used to eat growing up plus new additions. For a Taiwanese bakery, I have to say this is one of my favorites because they make everything fresh. They don’t have their goods pre-made and delivered to their shop like some Asian bakeries here. Granted I walked in during after work hours, the bakery still smelled like something had been baking a few hours ago. To my surprised, the chef was making cookies. When I went today, I had asked them if they had this one sandwich in stock. It was a good thing they were not as busy because they made me a few of them on the spot and i was extremely happy. The service was friendly(even during their busiest hours) and welcoming. I have not tried their sausages, but they are shipped from CA, so it should be good. It is interesting to see how they will do, considering there is another bakery across the street that, but I hope they do well.

This place is known for its raisin cookie sandwich and its pineapple bread(i.e. bread that’s shaped like pineapple but contains no pineapple). I have tried both and thought they were very tasty. The Swiss cream rolls were also decent. I tried their macha and strawberry mousse cake and they were pretty simple. The pudding here taste rather«eggy,» which can either be good or bad, depending on your preference. I had this place cater dessert for an event that I was helping out with. The owner was very nice and very accommodating with helping us selecting the desserts. If you give the owner your budget, she will work to give you a platter that works for you. The platters were ready when I went to pick them up and the owner and the store clerk helped me carried the platters to the car. This place definitely has good customer service and I would come here again.

It is worth trying once. That might be all of the times you’ll want to try it. Taiwanese style baked goods are buttery, soft, light, and a bit on the savory side. When everyone raved about their grand opening, I felt really excited that possibly a legitimate Taiwanese bakery would come to the Eastside. It’s honestly nothing special. Their stock changes regularly, so I can’t write what specific items you will see. The cake selection will have your standard fruit mousse, fruit tarts, egg custards, chocolate mousse, and light cakes. You will likely see madeleines, Taiwanese cookies, and salty breads placed on their middle table. The baked goods placed along the shelves will probably have pineapple buns, pork floss and green onion buns, coconut buns, maybe something with red bean, you know, the usual. I went the first day they opened when they had little-to-nothing available, and they had a 3/$ 10 special or something like that. I thought that was a little pricey for a special. I love pineapple buns, despite its lack of any nutritional value. The packaging is adorable, but when I bit into the pineapple bun, it was really underwhelming. No flavor and no salt or sweetness. They also missed the mark on having the crusty, sweet top on the bun. It’s like eating air. I gave their pork floss bun a go, and it was about the same. The bread texture was identical to the pineapple bun, as in it was soft and delicate but lacked any kick. It did not have enough of the mayonnaise filling spread in between as I am used to having. Again, it didn’t have enough salt. Also, this is the only time I will say this, but where’s the buttery fatty goodness that is supposed to sit right on my waist line? There is no oil residue left in the plastic packages or my hands. I can’t taste any fat in the baked goods, and that’s the most important component! I may give it another chance if I am in the area, but for now, this bakery is totally forgettable. I capitalized on their grand opening special and bought 6 items. I think I let 2 of them mold.

I decided to order a Birthday cake from Kiki this year to give them a try vs always ordering from Regent down the street. If I had known how it would turn out, I would’ve just stuck with Regent. Came in at 3:30 Xmas eve to just pick out whatever is in their display. The staff told me I had to order one then and it would take ½ hr. Ok, that is fine… so I ordered a 6″ mango mousse for $ 25. Definitely not cheap. They place the order with the kitchen but they tell me they are out of 6″ mango and I have to change it to matcha. Also fine, so I paid and told them I’ll be back in 1 hr to pick up. This is the cake I ordered per their display picture: I come back and they presented to me the ugliest cake I’ve ever seen. It looks like it was decorated a 5 yr old, even costco cakes look better than this. In the middle of the cake, it said«Happy Alex and Teddy Birthday» when obviously its supposed to be «Happy Birthday Alex and Teddy.» They can’t get this wrong, I even wrote it on a post it for them. Around the words where 5 individual pieces of blueberry and 1 piece of cherry. I told them immediately that this is unacceptable, and it looks absolutely nothing like the sample picture they had. The customers next in line were also shocked with how the cake turned out when they saw the sample pic. The young kids working out front told an old asian lady making the cake in the back that«the customer is complaining that there isn’t enough fruit.» Oh great, I’m not complaining about the lack of fruit, I’m complaining that I’m not being given what was promised. The old lady comes out pissed off at me saying I had too much words and that she can do me a favor by adding a few more pieces of fruit. My bf simply just asked her to take off the words and replace it with what the picture looks like. She refused! She says she can’t take off the words, what BS. No apologies or anything, it’s all the customer’s fault at this place apparently. So the end result looks like this: still looks like it was decorated by a child with unwanted xmas decorations. The blueberries have been replaced with little pieces of other fruit. I was already running late to the dinner party and had no more time to argue with her so I accepted defeat. And the best part was the 2 kids then accused me of not paying earlier and wanted payment again. I wish I didn’t pay earlier! I would’ve just walked out at the first sight of that ugly thing. Never again, Don’t order your cakes from this bakery, especially when you want a message on it. They hired idiots to work here or it was idiots that opened this place. Oh and when we opened up the cake later in the evening, a chunk of it was MISSING from the bottom of it. $ 25 for a tiny cake and they still manage to rip you off.

Not THE Taiwanese bakery, but I will take it! Kiki Bakery is a newly opened Taiwanese bakery in the Overlake area of Redmond near the border with Bellevue. It is part of a chain of bakeries that originated in southern California. Though not the southern California Taiwanese chain I yearn for to be in Seattle. That would be Taiwanese chain, 85C. Still, Kiki is a nice addition. It offers another Taiwanese bakery option in addition to 101Yess. There are also a couple Chinese bakeries, Regent and Golden Boat in close proximity to Kiki. I stopped by during the early evening hours which would explain why the selection didn’t appear to be that great. Still a lot to choose from, but there were just some spaces where you think stuff should be. You will find here a good selection of sweet and savory buns, dessert cakes and snacks. They also have Asian style sliced bread and triangle sandwiches. Pricing is pretty good overall, but may seem a little more pricey if you are comparing it to another Asian bakery. They also have a rewards card here. You get one stamp for every $ 10 purchase. After 10 stamps, you get a free bun. Not a great deal since I don’t typically spend that much on one visit, but at least you get something for free if you do. It should be more like one stamp for every $ 5 purchase though. On my visit, I got five things to try out. Took advantage of the 3 for $ 5 deal and got a coffee sponge cake slice, a raisin cream bun and coconut bun. Also picked up a caramel pudding($ 1.85) and a fruit cake($ 3.75). I liked all of the items I tried, but really like the two buns specifically as they were both wonderfully soft. The cream in the raisin bun sticks out too as it is really frothy. The coffee sponge cake is also nice and soft, but has a really bold coffee flavor to it. To the point it might be offputting for those who like the coffee taste to be more tame. The caramel pudding is essentially a custard served in a small container with a little spoon. I liked the custard, but the caramel was stuck at the bottom and I didn’t feel like stirring the custard into chunks. I would turn the container around first before opening and eating so that the caramel can reach the top for a more even flavor. Lastly, the fruit cake has a muffin type taste to it which makes it a nice option for breakfast. While this isn’t 85C with its massive selection of goodies and sea salt coffee, Kiki is still a nice addition to the repertoire of Asian bakeries on the Eastside.
