I came to Redmond for two reasons: 1) To take care of some very important business, and 2) To attend some stupid meeting for my job. So after a day of sitting at a fancy table, with an empty cup of coffee in hand and irritable bowels in bowels, I decided it was time to get my priorities straight. Today was the day I was going to beat Portal. Now technically, I finished Portal and Portal 2. But I knew those games weren’t really beaten until I’d eaten the cake. So I hauled my rhinarium down to the Regent Redmond location, and I purchased the Black Forest Cake with absolutely no hassle. I’m digging in right now. It’s not too sweet and not sickeningly moist like inferior cakes. And both I and my extremely satisfied esophagus can confirm that the cake is not a lie.

I just tried their chinese food and the sweet and sour chicken is the BEST I have had in Bellevue. Their crispy chinese noodles were wonderful too. I shall return to try more from their menu.

Should have added this update 4 weeks ago. My wife decided she would like to eat from Regent one Saturday evening. I had not told her of my negative experience in FEB2016(the subject of the first review). I told her we could get food, but she had to call in the order and go in to pick it up. She calls and the woman who answers the phone asks us to hold for a moment(a moment in customer service terms is 60 seconds or less). After exceeding 60 seconds, my wife hangs up, we wait a few minutes and she calls back. When the same woman answers the phone, my wife asks if we can place our order. The woman then begins to lecture us that we hung up and should have waited. At that point my wife hangs up, looks at me with a «are you kidding me» expression. I confirm that she did just get lectured and this is the type of attitude I experienced. It is safe to say it will be a long time before we go back to Regent, if ever. I hope the owner reads these reviews and makes some personnel and/or attitude adjustments.

My favorite place to get birthday cakes, hands down. They also have a good selection of buns and pastries, as well as bubble tea. The atmosphere is cozy and warmly lighted. Come treat yourself to a nice cake and some tea(but not during the lunch rush).

The first time, I bought a birthday cake here and some pastries, hesitatingly, because I hadn’t tried the place before. They were all perfect. I have been there several times since and haven’t been disappointed yet. I go there for the sweet stuff, and haven’t tried anything else. The service may need some improvement, though, and, hence, only 4 stars.

Good place to get cake, buns, bubble tea, you name it. I haven’t tried their sit-down food yet though. I can recommend the pineapple taro buns, I can’t eat enough of them. The cakes are good too, and the milk tea is good, if a little sweet. I mostly come here for my taro — and other buns– fix. Definitely worth checking out! Good prices too! :)

Terrible and bad management services provided by DAVE who is IMPOLITE and RUDE to customers!!! So is the owner!!! We had purchased a $ 20 gift certificate offered by Regent Bakery & Café. We went to Seattle store and tried to use the certificate. However, we’re being told that we could not use it in Seattle store. To our surprise, the certificate did not have any written message saying that it’s ONLY applicable in Redmond store. We were RUDELY told that we have to follow Regent’s policy and could not use the certificate!!! It’s totally rip off!!! It was not until we complain and request to call for police, then it got escalated to the owner. Terrible Management and Service I have ever encountered. Never, never, never will come back again!!!

By far my favorite bakery. The Black Forest cake is always a good bet, and consistently good. The cake is not too sweet, always fluffy, and never too dense like many other bakeries. It should also be noted that they offer single slices of cake and full sized ones for basically every flavor that they have, including different sizes. All very convenient. The fruit on their cakes always tastes fresh, and their sponge cake that comes out and sits on top of the pastry display is always light, airy, and super affordable. I always look forward to coming here for desserts, or even just to pick up a bun for breakfast the next morning. I would recommend the three style bun for anyone new and looking for bread.

Horrible customer service! I asked the lady to cut my bread before putting it in a to-go bag, and she smirked and said they don’t cut bread for you. She ended up giving me a knife and PAPERBAG for the greasy bread I had and within ten minutes, the grease of the bread went through the paper bag. Never going again.

It was my dads birthday and I really wanted to get him a Chinese cake! Asian cakes are not as sweet and creamy as American cakes, and taro is my dad’s FAVORITE flavor. The staff was really nice and I called in early before I stopped by the store just in case of the cake was sold out. The lady also wrote, «Happy Birthday Dad» in Chinese for me on the cake! That’s was very nice. They cakes aren’t that expensive either. They used real taro and the cream on the cake was just the perfect sweetness and the sponginess of the cake was perfect also. My dad was a happy man on that day. I’ll be getting my moms birthday cake here also!

Really delicious French/Asian bakery with coffees, and hose special signature drinks, I. e Hong Kong Tyle milk tea, smoothies, bubble teas, and full lunch menu. I had a delicious custard bun and cappuccino, but drooled at the home style soups coming out. Table room, but no wifi.

Pros: Bakery items taste good. Cakes are not too sweet. And they have mooncakes. That’s why it is not 1 star. So I have to write my first Unilocal review. Story: I went to get a black forest cake for husband’s birthday. And 2 other buns. I am the kind of person who checks prices diligently. So the lady told me how much I should pay. It turned out the amount seemed higher than I had calculated, so the conversation went: — me: how much is this bun? she:(confidently) ‘$ 3.5, that one $ 3, and tax’ me:(hesitating) she: is the amount incorrect? Then she used the calculator again, and told me a new amount. This time it was correct. And she added, as if explaining something, ‘I looked at the wrong calculator.‘ It sounded fishy to me — why would she have looked at another calculator? Then it hit me — this is not the first time I found differences in prices. Last time(3 months ago) I bought 6 – 7 buns and the amount she(another lady) told me is around $ 3 more than what I’d calculated.(No, it is not tax.) I asked for a receipt but they don’t have an itemized receipt. It is just a lump sum so it is no use in checking it. Look at another Unilocal review by ‘S H.’ on 12/31/2014 which has the same thing I encountered. Suddenly it all falls into place. How easy it is to charge a few dollars more when a customer buys a number of items, each $ 2.xx to $ 5.xx? How many people will keep track like I do? Also no itemized receipt means it is hard to check and they have no consequences. Bottom line: calculate your prices. If you find a discrepancy, share it here so that I know it is not just me. It is not a whole lot of money, but for me, I am not going back due to their questionable integrity. This is not the end of the story. After dinner we took out the black forest cake(I’ve uploaded picture) Looks good, except that it says ‘Happy birthday Daddy’. Hey, it should be ‘Happy birthday David’! You know, she didn’t bother to repeat what I told her, and didn’t bother to let me have a look before putting it in and boxing it up.

You know it’s good when you can’t make it home without eating something out of the bag you just bought. This place is packed, especially close to closing time. It seems that this bakery is no secret to Chinese Bakery item lovers. The line for ordering can be a bit chaotic, but once you put your order in the ladies up front are really nice and smile when they interact with you. Selection was good here even towards closing time. I had the chocolate hazelnut cake and some lotus filled pastries. DELICIOUS. Just writing about them is making me crave something from there. It was THAT good. Looking forward to my next visit to this place!

I was a regular here for over six years up until I left my job which was right around the corner. One of my favorite things here is the BBQ pork buns which I purchased probably more often than I needed to but they are so good, I couldn’t resist. If you like cakes, pastries, and other assorted baked goods, these folks are experts at crafting exquisite treats that will blow your mind. One thing a lot of people aren’t aware of is their food menu which has a pretty standard selection of Chinese food items and other similar fare. The highlight is the lunch menu which features generous portions of some of their most popular items for super cheap prices. While I took advantage of these deals on many occasions, my favorite item on the menu is the Regent friend rice which is quite simply a gigantic pile of awesome thrown on to a plate. The location is pretty convenient in a strip mall not far off of 520 and there is a huge parking lot so no worries about finding a space. The dining area is a little on the small side but most people that walk in are there to pick up something to take out.

Good seats with power plug ins and good baked goods, as the name would suggest. I love the cake.

The Redmond Regent Bakery is much busier and more hectic than the Regent Bakery in Cap Hill, Seattle. There were so many customers at this one, bobbin’ and weaving, it was hard to figure out who was in line ahead of you. The selection and baked goods are authentic and delicious. If you’re looking for a cake with real(light) whipping cream, go to Regent Bakery and Café!

So after so many good reviews about their cakes, I knew I had to give them a try and bought my daughter’s birthday cake here. First of all, let me say that their cake(we got the chocolate hazelnut) wasn’t all that bad. It was a solid 3.5 stars. The cake part was not too moist and not too dry. However, I could not taste the hazelnut until I got tired of the cake part the second day and just spooned the cream out. Very little hazelnut flavor. Why not just call it a chocolate mousse cake? The bad part about the bakery is their melon cake(wife cake) and egg tart. I love melon cake. It’s the first thing I look for in a Chinese bakery. For $ 2.50, you get a small, doughy with next to no filling, piece of pastry. It tasted like nothing and very bland. I could not find pieces of melon and it was so bad I could not finish it. Half went into the trash. The egg tart was also very disappointing. I took a bite and didn’t want it anymore. Bland tasting food and expensive! I spent over $ 40 on those three items and only the chocolate hazelnut cake was eaten. Maybe I chose the wrong items to order because their fruit and strawberry cakes look good. Maybe I will give them a second chance because they are close to me and there’s not really much other options.

I was looking for cake shop after 6pm on Sat. Most of stores closed. But I found this place open until 9pm. Asian Café serving, full size of cakes, sliced cakes, beverages, Hong Kong style Chinese food., etc You can sit and eat too.

I am a very picky person in terms of where I get bubble tea from(I go to different places for different drinks) but Regent Bakery definitely offers the best original black tea bubble tea in my opinion. The tea is not too sweet or too bland. The pastries themselves are also BOMB. I always get the fruit or strawberry cake whenever I find myself at Regent, and it never fails to disappoint. The cakes also are not too sweet(which is always my #1 complaint about cakes in general). I had to order a cake from here once and the cake was ready the day of! I’m not sure if this was just an odd occurrence that that had happened but it was awesome that they had the cake I wanted all ready to go. I only wish there was a Regent Bakery closer to where I lived in Seattle! Or maybe that’s a good thing because then I would go here every day for bubble tea and cake…

Big fan of Regent, their pastries and cakes are some of the best that I’ve tried. My parents and I came here over the weekend to try the bubble tea; we are pretty pick about our bubble tea but we enjoyed the taste! We got the vanilla, coffee and jasmine hot milk teas with boba, all of those tasted good, could have been a little hotter though imo. Also ordered the Red bean mochi bun and a slice of the Black Forest cake, thoroughly enjoyed both of those as well. The bubble tea was definitely cheaper than other stores in the area(hot — $ 2.75, cold — $ 3 plus 50c for boba). Cakes were a little pricier but I do think the quality is higher than the average bakery and I don’t mind paying a little more for better quality. I will def be coming back here again
