Macy’s

I love Macy’s and I love the Redmond store. The employee’s are really nice. Yes, there are only a few of them… and usually busy behind the counter, but I don’t typically need help with my shopping. I can easily give this store 5 stars. LOVE this store!

One of my most frustrating retail experiences in years was passionately solved by Macy’s wunder-​employee, Lauren Brown of Macy’s Redmond Town Center. ON 12/​26, I went to Alderwood Macy’s (WA State), and made about six hundred dollars worth of IN STORE purchases to be shipped to my relatives in San Diego. All but one of my purchases ‚(a $ 79.27), combined clothing and kitchen purchase, reached my mother and sister in law in San Diego.
Upon realizing that the items had been charged on my Macy’s card but never received by my relatives, I spent several hours attempting to research the status of my lost purchase. I called both locally and the 1 – 800 number, before being transferred to an even more clueless customer service representative in the Phillipines. All of the Macy’s customer representatives, i spoke to insisted that they had no record of the purchase OR the shipment;moreover, they transferred me repeatedly because «limitations of their computer systems and department classes prevented them from helping me». To these employees and their computer systems, I had made no purchase and no shipment despite having the receipt of payment and charge show up on my Macy’s card!!!
Thankfully, I decided to give it a last try and walk into the store to deal with a Macy’s representative in-​person. I was EXTREMELY FORTUNATE TO meet Ms. Lauren Brown, Sales Manager in Luggage/Kid’s Dept in Macy’s of Redmond WA. After spending almost an hour patiently listening to my frustration and calming me down, she pledged to solve the problem and follow up with me. She reassured me that having prior experience working at the Macy’s Alderwood Mall in shipping and other departments, prior to her current position as a sales manager, she could easily investigate and remedy my issue and frustration. I was so so so pleased to have received a call back from Ms. Brown a few days later; Amazingly, she was able to find my original purchase, locate the goods in Macy’s wherehouse and reship them expedited at no cost to my relatives in San Diego. I cant tell you how happy Ms. Brown made me and my family members who finally received their much-​needed goods. Ms. Brown is an amazing representative of Macy’s. Further, ONLY BECAUSE OF HER diligent efforts, would i continue shopping at Macy’s and recommend doing so to my friends, colleagues and family.

This place is a ghost town after 8 PM! No lines and no crowds. Men’s selection is much better than Bellevue, Not as good as Seattle, but ridiculously better than Bellevue.
The inventory is disorganized and out of place. Racks have all kinds of sizes mixed. Kind of like shopping at Ross, but with better music. Men’s shoe inventory is terrible as well.

The store employees actively avoid you, there’s never anyone in the shoe section to assist you, especially not in the athletic shoe area. And if you try to get a shoe section employee’s attention, they suddenly have to hide out in the back room as soon as they see you approaching them. And worst of all, THEY DON’T PROVIDE ANY BASKETS OR TOTES FOR YOU TO CARRY AROUND YOUR SHOPPING ITEMS IN! So you just have to carry all your shit around in your arms!
And they never carry the items they dress the mannequins in, which is of course the best looking items. So they just dress the mannequins in coolest stuff to entice you and they don’t even have that stuff out on the sales floor.
Screw this awful store, I’ll never give them any of my money.

Although the associate helping in the women’s shoe department had a very good attitude the store was extremely under staffed. We waited for 20 minutes to get a shoe size from the back then walked out. Unimpressed that he was unable to find additional people to help him.

Went to find their pro long wear lipstick and specifically looking for a pink color. I was told their longest lasting lipstick was their matte colors and the next was a gel pro long wear that is a gloss then dries like a normal lipstick. She informed me they were discontinuing this product. I think she assumed I couldn’t afford anything else. Don’t go here! Go to the Mac store on Bellevue Square (not the nordstrom one because they can be rude and too assuming as well).

I refuse to shop at macy’s any longer. I will not do business with a store that does not allow freedom of speech. They don’t deserve my patronage.

This place… is a mess. Its a smaller store than most Macy’s, and thats probably the main issue here. When I walk in and head up to the 2^nd floor to the mens department, its split between home/​kitchen and mens. Like I said, its a smaller store than most, and thus the mens department is also not as plentiful. Due to the smaller footprint, everything seems crammed together, there isn’t a lot of space to move around and the selection is very limited. Additionally, there are racks and racks of clearance items that aren’t very well organized and stuffed together. It makes it very unappealing to even look through whats there to find anything.
On top of the crowded space, staffing seems to be limited as well. This probably accounts for the cluttered and messy appearance. This past sunday there was only one counter to make a purchase within the mens department and no staff walking around to help you find what you’re looking for. At the only counter that was being manned, there was only one lady there so it took a while to make my purchase.
I’d avoid this place unless you’re looking for convenience and know they have it here. This location just isn’t as nice to shop in verses the other locations around the Seattle area.

But it’s a super small Macy’s. smallest store in the area and maybe even the smallest Macy’s store anywhere.
The selection of brands is limited. I could not find 7 for all man kind jeans for men. I asked the sales staff and he had no clue what I was talking about.
The handbag department is weak. Nothing in the high end level. Just a few coach bags in the case. Most other bags are dented or beat up. They always seem to have a bargain bin of a few name brands but they are dinged up.
The ladies undergarments department has a good selection of Wacoal bras. But thats the only compliment. it’s christmas time and the only women’s PJ’s were full flannel. I could not find a single silky slip nightie. It’s christmas time stores are usually packed with selections of these. So if you want anything romantic, youthful, or fun you’ll have to go to VS or Soma.
I’ll only use this Macy’s if I’m holiday shopping at this mall and Macy’s has a crazy sale that day. Otherwise I won’t bother and I’ll wait until I go to a nordstrom in the area. I mean if Nordstrom headquarters are here in WA I would assume the local stores have to be good. Kind of like how we have the best costcos. :)

This store is ok, but I’d skip it if it weren’t convenient. Have to hunt salespeople down to make purchases, and I’ve left stuff on abandoned registers after waiting so long. Also, forget about asking a salesperson for help. No up selling going on here, either. I’m specifically referring to women’s clothing department, accessories and makeup counters seem better. For these prices, though, I prefer Nordstrom for the WAY better customer service, and return policy. Only shopping here again if it’s convenient, but I’d really rather not.

This Macy’s was at one time an anchor store for Redmond Town Center, but it doesn’t seem to be as great as it once was. I remember a time when I actually made some good purchases from this store and even relied on them for certain things. That might not happen anymore since this store has become average. It’s not a bad place to visit for small purchases if you’re in the area, but there are better stores than this one where I would go to buy more important items.
I bought a very nice black leather Fossil men’s wallet from this store back in 2009. It had a ton of compartments, some of them including zippers, and only cost thirty dollars. It’s so useful that I still have it with me to this day, but I was thinking about getting a replacement for it. This wallet has gotten somewhat worn after five years of use, so I figured it’s time to get a new one from the same place that sold me the first one.
The bad news is that their wallets are now in the $ 30-​$ 50 range, and absolutely none of them have any zippers of any sort. I confirmed this with a sales attendant who said that they don’t have wallets with zippers. That’s kind of a disappointment because zippers are a good way to guarantee that things don’t fall out of the wallet. She said I might want to check Bergman Luggage across the street, but they didn’t have any wallets with zippers either. So much for that.
I also shopped here for men’s cologne, since the one I had was over three years old and getting pretty dated. They have many bottles of the stuff for sampling, but they all start to smell the same once you’ve tried enough of them. They have a small bag of coffee beans to help you reawaken your nose after it gets killed by the strong scents, but I just picked one that was recommended to me because they’re all pretty similar. One hundred dollars for this bottle when it probably would have cost me around eighty dollars three years ago. Times are changing, and Macy’s is no longer as good as it once was. Still an acceptable store, though.

FOR THE MAC COSMETICS DEPARTMENT:
Not the best service. Was really set on getting a particular lipstick & the lady kept telling me that another lipstick looked better on me. I asked her for the one I came in with so I could check out and she said she didn’t have it.
Shocker. She kept telling me the other lipstick looked better because they were out of the one I wanted!
I asked when they would have it again and her response was «I don’t know»…
Very helpful. Not coming back here. Why spend so much on these products when the salesman can’t even provide any service?

Macy’s is one of my favorite places to shop. This location is perfect for a Sunday outing. They have a Starbucks nearby so I can get my uppity, white privileged coffee and then go shopping for some men’s clothing.
The customer service varies due to staffing on certain days. You’ll get the most help on the weekends and probably less help on say a Monday when they aren’t as fully staffed. Parking is in the back so park there and then walk around the town center.
The place is littered with Pakistan/​Indian population and if you get too close to one of them you really get a strong body odor smell mixed with curry. It can get really bad so keep your distance.
I like to buy men’s shoes here because they have the best price and they always have cool sales. I recommend.

Terrible service. Really hard to find someone to ring you up or find something… And when you do find a manned register there are a ton of customers at it!
We only shop here when absolutely necessary.

Horrible service. You have to hunt down an employee to check out. The last 3 times I have been there, they forgot to take off the security sensor on an article of clothing and I have had to drive back.
Just today I was standing at the register, ready to check out, watching an employee organize some shirts. She clearly saw me there as I cleared my throat. I was ignored for quite some time until I said something like I was ready to check out. Absolutely no eye contact from these people. Do the people that apply know that they are getting into retail? Maybe thia store manager ia picking the wrong people. It makes shopping there annoying.

If the Redmond Town Center had a slightly bigger parking lot, this would be an even nicer place to shop. There are a lot of stores here and every time I come here I forget how good they are too. Macy’s here has never been overcrowded. I would say average traffic at best and I believe that’s because of the limited amount of parking. I feel that’s for a lot of the stores here too, in that, they’re not as crowded as they may be if there was a bigger parking lot.
If you’re the person that wants to be able to run in and out of a store, Macy’s and this whole shopping Center is the place for you.

This review is for the women department cashier. We went there tonight and she was not customer service oriented. No people skills and obviously has an attitude. I am not sure why she is even working in this type of job.
We do love this Macy’s and we shop here regularly.

This Macy’s is woefully small and selection is very limited. A lot of my favorite brands I can find at the Bellevue Square location are non existent or only have like two pieces of clothing at this location.
Since this location is considerably smaller it also feels a wee bit cramped as well.
I don’t live near Redmond so I really don’t have a good reason to visit this location. Also none of the associates even acknowledged me. I am not one to chat with the associates but a mere smile or a hello would have sufficed!

I really like this Macy’s! Yes, it’s true: it’s smaller than most Macy’s, which is obvious when you just look at the building exterior. If you’re expecting a flagship store or massive mall anchor store, this isn’t it. As such, it’s true: you won’t have the huge selection of a gazillion, specialized departments you’ll find in the bigger stores. But you’ll find the basics and more. There are high end cosmetic brands, tons of accessories, a medium-​sized shoe department, and varied womens’ and children’s department. My kids love the teen section, though it is on the small size. They always seem to stock popular items, though, and my kids always find stuff here (and they are extremely … picky). The men’s department and the house goods department upstairs are excellent, as is the women’s lingerie section; at least, my family has always found what we needed (and then some).
I like how the sales folks here are helpful and more available than at, say, Bell Square (again, my experience only. And don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Bell Square and the Macy’s there!). I find there are just more sales folks present at this store than at other Macy’s; it’s better staffed. And I like how all Macy’s now email you your receipt if you want. That is the most convenient feature ever! I also like how you can pay your Macy’s card down at ANY sales counter, and you don’t have to wait in line at one selected customer service desk.

Smaller store, so limited selection. I wanted to buy some shoes, but they did not have my size. They did look up that shoe at other locations and told me where it was available. Helpful and friendly staff. They just have a very limited selection. Seems a little chaotic in places. Otherwise, no other issues.
Oh, they have good sales. Right now they had a shoe sale going on.
