I kinda feel bad for the guy who called me but if you are going to be a recruiter you had best be on your «A» game!!! I shared the below on a few social pages…
LOL… If you’re a «recruiter» and you call me for a position with a company, you had better be on your «A» Game, folks. I have been in #Sales for over 20 years. I can hear a improperly trained recruiter/​sales person within the first 10 seconds of the phone call. I will ask you a few key questions. Then I will call you and your «BS» out and teach you something.
When I ask,“What sets YOU apart from all the other recruiters”?
You had better come up with something besides relying on your company’s «name» and rating.
If you want me in for an interview just get straight to the point. Don’t feed me a bunch of BS… I’m getting to old for that crap.

Now, I had ask the gentleman if there was an «unsubscribe» link in the email. He said yes 3 times… He is a LAIR!!!
I hate being lied to and I’m sure everybody else does as well.

I figured out what they actually do! They use you — the candidate — to learn about their competition. Don’t waste your time! They get the star because they have a good hook. They appear genuinely interested in you as a candidate.

This is one of those companies that goes trolling job search sites for resumes. I have mine posted on a couple sites but it’s set not to allow agencies to view mine so when I received a call from a «recruiter» at this company I assumed that possibly I had made a mistake and applied in error. I went along and agreed to go in for testing for a CSR position and testing that was supposed to take 2 hours took me 45 minutes. Then they wanted me to wait 4 days to come back for an interview. After having to wait 5 – 10 minutes for the reception to finish a personal call I asked for something the same day. They managed to fit the guy ahead of me in 30 minutes after he was done testing. With her teenage attitude she sighed and said she could only do 3:00. I had an interview scheduled at 2:00 but it wasn’t far away so I should be able to fit it in. Unfortunately my 3:00 interview started 15 minutes late and took longer than expected. I called and said I was on the way. Again she tells me I need to reschedule. Sounds like someone is looking to get out of the office early on Friday. I tell her I can be there. I accidentally pull in to the wrong parking lot but luckily I walk in 11 minutes after I first talk to her. I then get told that «per the hiring manager since I am 20 minutes late they will have to reschedule». I tell her I am not 20 minutes late and if that’s the timeframe I had they need to honor the interview or don’t bother. I already have things scheduled for Monday and I’m not running myself ragged again. Again I get the teenage attitude so I ask to speak with the recruiter who proceeds to come out and tell me that they will not be able to proceed with the process since I was 15 minutes late, I was given the option earlier in the day to schedule on Monday and they just have a protocol to follow. I was incredulous. At this point no one can agree on how late I was and it really sounds like sour grapes that I went on another interview or had other things lined up and I point blank told him as such, not to mention the fact they all sound like idiots. If you’re going to lie to someone at least have the brains to get your stories straight but then I guess they’d have to have a working one between them. At that time I demanded any and all copies of my resume and paperwork I had filled out, that they never contact me again and I would be sure to pass along the word through every website and social media outlet I could that no one should EVER apply with their company or answer their calls/​e-​mails. At this point I see that they brought out «security» I guess in case a 5 ft 3 in female posed any danger to them. This place is a SCAM. AVOID it at all costs. I have checked all my profiles and all are set just as a I thought so basically this place is getting information by dishonest means.

I write this review with a heavy heart.
Instead of helping job candidates find jobs, they… what is it that they do again? I can’t remember.
One of the other reviewers called them incompetent. I would add lazy, inconsiderate, and unprofessional – that is, when they’re in communication with you at all, which is pretty rare.
I’ve seen relevant positions advertised by Volt in email alerts and on websites. Did I ever hear about them from the agency directly? Nope.
We’re in a recession, and the job market has gotten more competitive. They should try a little harder. Instead, they’re treating candidates as interchangeable and disposable. It’s absolutely shameful.

COMPLETE INCOMPETENTS!
Volt sent me on a supposed «interview» to Microsoft.
I arrived at Microsoft, scheduled day AND time. THE HIRING MANAGER WAS ON VACATION, NOT EVEN AT MICROSOFT HQ! I was told that the «interview» information was made on the basis of the «relationship» between Microsoft and Volt’s local office.
In other words, Volt’s response was a polite form of «**it happens, kiss off».
«Like I mentioned yesterday, I am extremely sorry for what happened. Unfortunately things like this happen. I know they said they are still interested in meeting with you, however I understand if you do not wish to do so.»

there are pros and cons to staffing agencies. overall, i have to say staffing agencies like volt have made a positive impact in the tech industry. corporations used to have problems w/​lawsuits, corporate espionage, and theft of intellectual property but now all that has been reduced. working for volt is like being an athelete with an agent. afterall, you only need 1 job. as a job seeker, you are then able to focus on your profession and skillset rather than having to set aside an alotted amount of time applying for positions. they get paid when you are paid so it’s only obvious they want to see you do well. many temps land permanent positions. my dealings w/​volt have been proffessional. however, being expendable can make life unstable.

Be VERY wary of Volt recruiters. I have had multiple bad experiences with Volt.
One Volt recruiter solicited exclusive rights to represent me on a whole bunch of different positions at Microsoft.
Weeks later I became aware that he had never submitted my resume for ANY of these positions for which he had solicited exclusive rights to represent.
I can only imagine different motives for why he would do this, but the bottom line is he severely impinged on my job search because other recruiters could not submit my resume for those jobs.
