Clear Wire

The Clear 2-​week trial is almost fraudulent. Over the past two days I have been on the phone with customer support for about 2 hours. The first fellow, Fidel, promised that I would receive a shipping label to return the equipment and a refund for the first month of service immediately and a refund for the modem when it was returned. This was based on the facts that I had received the Clear modem on May 9^th and I was cancelling on May 21^st (12 days) The email I received a few minutes after that phone call indicated that Clear was extending my service until June 2 so they could charge me for a month instead of honoring the 2-​week trial!
I called that same evening for 44 minutes and received assurance that they would take care of both the shipping label and the refund… that did not happen. Today I am on the phone again talking to Noël who has given the same assurances.
I disconnected the modem from my computer with about a 1-​hour trial; just enough time to connect, activate and run a speed test. The modem speed was much lower that the promised speed, specifically 1.25 MB/​s instead of the promised 7 MB/​s.
All of the customer support personnel are professional, calm and courteous in spite of the fact that I became more and more angry about how their company was attempting to defraud me!

Appalling download speeds. Appalling, time wasting and pointless questioning from Tech Support. Appalling experience! Please do not use Clear Wire!

This company is the worst it can get if you want internet service!
I got rid of Verizon a few months ago and decided to try another company, CLEAR, because they promised they could deliver 6MB speed for internet service via one of their wireless modems.
For the first week of service, the fastest speed their modem delivered was 2.7MB. After that, it consistently dropped service, sometimes up to 4 times within a two or three day period and the speed slowed to a crawl of only 1 MB or less.
Their tech support goes through this long and drawn out song and dance with you that they KNOW will do nothing to speed up your service. This process can take days. Yes, days of BS like shuffling your modem around the room, asking you to run your PC without antivirus and safety software, etc. Why? So they can screw you.
They promise a full refund if you are not satisfied with their service after 14 days. What they do to F you over is that the 14 days does not start when you actually get the modem from them in the mail, IT STARTS THE DAY YOU SIGN UP FOR SERVICE! It took 6 days for the modem to arrive to my apartment and they demanded that this counted towards the 14 day trial period!
So, this is how CLEAR screwed me out of my refund. Then, to make matters worse, they claim they will give you a refund if you return the modem within a month and it is undamaged. I did this and CLEAR refuses to now give me a refund on a modem I used for about 11 days. If you don’t believe me, go onto CLEAR’s own website and look into the user support forums there and see pages upon pages of complaints that reflect exactly what I have reported to you here.
They are liars and should be run out of business.
Do not, under any circumstances, do any business with CLEAR or aka CLEAR wireless! I am furious with this company.
