The place is clean and cozy. I think the staff are good at what they are doing. The thing is you have to explain your requests to the staff clearly.

I agree with Laura’s review wholeheartedly. My wife and I tried this place for a body massage, and we were both very happy with the quality of the massage. The place was clean, but it is a small, unassuming establishment which caters to those seeking a good massage, and not a spa experience. For the price paid, it is well worth it.

I would probably give this place 4 stars bc it’s clearly not a fancy massage spot, but since everyone else who reviewed this business seems to hate it for the silliest reasons, I thought I’d even the scales a little. 1. Yes, the lady who runs this place is messy and cranky, which is kind of laughable to me — it’s like that soup shop episode from Seinfeld! 2. Always bring cash to a business like this and plan your tip ahead of time. You don’t have to give the whole tip you planned for, but at least you can hand it directly to your masseuse when the massage is over, so there’s no risk of the business taking a cut. 3. On the language barrier. GETOVERIT. They don’t speak perfect English all the time, but you had to know that walking in. Be cool, they will work with you, I’ve never had a bad massage here, just a weak one ONCE. All the other times have been thorough and relaxing and if I ask them to work on a specific spot they do it. It’s easy to explain what you want, you just have to work with them. They are doing this work for a LOT less than some places, so be mindful of that and just gently explain what you need, they are always eager to get it right.(And they will ask if you want oils, if you don’t, just say so or leave your clothes on.) 4. I get massages for sports therapy bc I’m very active, so this place is great bc it’s VERY clean and I can afford to come more often than a pricey place — which would make you sit in a robe in the waiting room forever sipping lemon water in the name of luxury. This place gets to the point and always fixes my aches and pains. I highly recommend it, you just cannot beat their prices for the level of service!(You get a room to yourself if you get a full body massage, whereas similarly priced places tend to have a curtain or no divider at all. And the head, neck, shoulders and foot massage is DIVINE. Suck it up people, you’re not at the Ritz and you knew that walking in. Sheesh!

Don’t spend your hard earned money HERE! Poor service, no customer satisfaction what so ever, nobody can speak English and they just want to get a quick buck! I won’t have a massage here even it is FREE! If u want to ruin your day and be miserable, then go to this place, they are experts in making your day from bad to worst! Good luck, happy landing! You will need it! AK day spa gives redondo beach business a BAD name!!!

My husband purchased a gift certificate for me. I usually go to a licensed professional but since it was only $ 60 for 90 minutes my husband thought i would enjoy it. I almost tossed the certificate as I have been to these«one on every corner» massage places before and the therapist nor owners rarely speak enough English to to communicate the needs or concerns of the patient. I reluctantly went ahead and used my gift card and from the moment I walked in the lady at the front desk was far from welcoming and almost didn’t even take my certificate as she was searching for a receipt to prove it was purchased and kept asking for my credit card. I kept telling her this is from your place and this is the card you gave my husband. I also tried to ask her what type of massage they provide and she straight out just ignored me when she clearly could hear me. I asked if she spoke English then she surprisingly answered yes. When I went into the room, the massage therapist spoke no English. He called that same lady back in to translate and I asked for back and neck only massage and sure enough they DIDNOT understand and I got massaged where I didn’t want it. It was an ok massage if you enjoy globs of oil all over which just made the experience feel slippery and gross. I spent 90 minutes wishing I had gone to my more expensive pro massage therapist who at least knows her anatomy and understands me. Well massage over and I go to give a tip and they say they are going to charge an extra $ 1 for the $ 12 tip i was leaving the guy out of courtesy for a 90 min massage. I said i will be back with money withdrawn from the closest ATM as I do not wish to pay an extra fee. A new lady came over and was very angry and said ok no fee. I said thank you and she just gave me a dirty look and there was absolutely no courtesy or motive to ever come back to this business. Overall, this is a very unprofessional establishment. I will be paying more and getting my money’s worth in the future.

The place was clean and my 30 minute massage was really good, however, if you are looking for warmth customer service or even a friendly smile, forget it. I think that my masseuse knew enough English to give me a speech about how the massage can’t cure anything but can help relax, etc.(duh) and that was it. After my massage, she left and I went upfront to tell her that the massage was good, but she was nowhere to be found. Another lady was at the desk and gave me a half hearted goodbye. Basically I felt unwelcome and like I ruined their day by coming in for a service. The massage was great, but I can go somewhere else and get both a good massage and customer service. They won’t get another penny from me.

One hour deep tissue, clean place(from what I saw). Weird massage therapist(body odor, long nails, etc). The therapist got too close and I had to tell him to back away. Not a professional environment, and the staff seems over worked and frazzled.
