This is a great hidden gem in south Redondo. Some friends brought us here, and we’re so glad we got a chance to check it out! It’s a comfortable and cozy place to grab a drink and food and watch the game. Wednesdays are burger nights– half off burgers! And man, are those burgers delicious. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot!

This place has definitely improved and has grown into a great neighborhood bar. I do think the food could be improved, however the service has gotten way better.

We have been coming to Avenue A for over a year now, and used to feel the food was of high quality at reasonable prices. Well, our visit last Friday was a disappointment. The Avenue A salad I ordered was not the same salad as listed on the menu. It did not have any avocado, but was still charged at the full menu price. The calzone my husband ordered was burnt. Don’t know why the quality was so bad this particular visit, but someone isn’t watching what comes out of the kitchen!

My husband and I checked out Avenue A Bar & Grill for Thursday night football. The bar is smaller than I expected, but that makes it cozy and it has a local vibe. There are at least 15 flat screen tv’s lining all the walls, so it’s a great place to watch the game! We sat at the bar and had the best bartender — unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name. She made me a mean Hot Toddy! I ordered the Garden Salad and the Beef Sliders, both of which were tasty. My husband had the Pepperoni Calzone and Buffalo Dip, which he really enjoyed. They appear to have a special for almost every night. I took a bunch of pictures and loaded them onto the«Tips» section, so check those out. They have at least one large table that is good for a big group. Otherwise, it’s mostly two and four tops. Enjoyed our visit to Avenue A Bar & Grill, and will be back! Parking: The bar is located in a small strip mall, so there is a tiny parking lot available. Otherwise, there is street parking available in the neighborhood.

Great sports bar. A cozy atmosphere that doesn’t feel over crowded. Fifteen tvs!!! You can watch all the sporting events at once. Great food and an extensive menu and drink selection. Not your typical sports bar fare. Will definitely come back.

Wall to wall big screen tvs, friendly staff, and seriously good food. The lamb chops and humus were my favorite. We also ordered pizza and sliders. Very family friendly. Our young kids loved it.

What a great place to enjoy an evening and football. Marty, the owner was very attentive and almost micromanaged his staff. Food was great. People were nice. The only downside was that there was no bicycle parking rack.

Was here last Sunday for brunch, also to enjoy watching the morning football game. We got there early so when they opened they said we can sit anywhere. We chose a table at the back with a 55″ TV screen gave them which game we were watching. Already comfortable when around 25 minutes later a group of 4 came and we were asked to move to a smaller table to view our game on a 32“screen. That was a bit upsetting. Then we ordered our meal of Chillequilles with egg. Which turned out to be very soggy. I wonder if I should have specified to keep the nachos crispy, but isn’t that how it is supposed to be? I give them two stars, for poor customer services and less than enjoyable food. I was really looking forward to the experience as this was my first time at this sports bar. BTW, we decided to leave and enjoyed the game at home with great pizza from Pavich’s

Love the place… Go at least once to twice a week… Marty the owner is always there, greets and seats you! Knows what you like and really cares for his customers… Then there is Gustavo, he makes sure everything is tip top and always says hi! Our favorite waitress is Mary! She knows what you like and brings you everything you need without having to ask… She goes the extra mile! Then there is the food! Better then most bar food! Fresh and made with love! Don’t forget the peanuts and Marty’s special salsa sauce! Try the place out!

Burger from Avenue A Bar & Grill. Had yet to try this place, so I decided to pop in for Happy Hour last week. They had a good looking menu with some interesting options. They offered half off Burgers so we tried one of the signature Burgers. It was decent but nothing to get it noticed in the Burger Mecca, that is LA. They had a decent Happy Hour menu. We had some Wings that were pretty poor. Over fried and not quality Chicken Wings. The buffalo sauce was boring and way too salty. The one highlight was the Blue Cheese dressing. It had a good ratio of actual Blue Cheese chunks to Buttermilk(Mayo or Sour cream). It was all pretty weak but decent in atmosphere until the owner or manager walked in the door. He instantly started yelling at a waitress. It was out in front of all the customers and loud enough that it made everyone in the place feel uncomfortable. After a weird silence fell over the bar, my friend actually texted me to acknowledge that awkward moment. We might have stayed for another round, but not after that. That guy was an A hole and I feel terrible for that waitress. I can’t support a place run by someone with such rude behavior and disregard for his staff and customers. Awkward Epic Fail!

Taco & Trivia Tuesday is my favorite, but every time I’ve visited I’ve had a good time. Great local place with friendly staff and never too crowded(except maybe on Tuesdays and late at night on Fridays and Saturdays). If any of my friends come to visit Redondo I take them to Avenue A because it’s perfect for catching up over a drink. Their menu has a good variety of food(American, Mexican, pizza, salads, etc.) and I’ve only had one mediocre experience when they had overcooked the mini burgers. But besides that one time, awesome food, awesome drinks, and awesome service!

Ok food, below average service I usually get the chicken fingers here but have tried the blue cheese burger, fish & chips, and Caesar salad. All are just okay. If you care, the nachos do not come with guac which is a no no for me. The service should definitely be improved. On a pretty slow night, I had to ask our waitress Amanda for water 3 times. I also placed my order with honey mustard which was forgotten. I asked for recommendations between the cheesecake and crème brûlée. She recommends the cheesecake. On the menu I see that it says +$ 1 for fresh fruit topping and ask her what kind of fruit it is. She says strawberries and blueberries. I say ok I’ll think about for a little bit. Not 5 minutes later, she gives us the check. I tell her that I still want the cheesecake with fruit topping. And she says, let me check if they’ll still make it. Wtf? So the kitchen closed and you couldn’t have told me that 5 minutes ago when we were talking about dessert? Fortunately, they decide to make it and guess what it looked like? A cheesecake with 1 whole freakin strawberry. What a joke. It turns out she didn’t put in the order with fruit topping. Lol. At this point it’s hilariously awful how bad this waitress is. There are a ton of bars in Redondo/hermosa so for me there is really no reason to continue going here. Only pro I think is they have a lot of tvs but then again so do a lot of other places. Bye avenue a! Get better service! You know us locals love our friendly neighborhood bars, it’s sad you’re no longer one of those.

Definitely a «neigborhood» bar and grill … always a comfortable and fun place to be. With the college football season upon us … this will be my place to watch UCLA and Michigan State games. Favorite«special» night is Thursday — great pizza. Love this place, especially since it is within walking distance from my home.

After an apology from the owner, here is my updated review: Thank god for good ownership… Marty is a great person. I’ve had my issues, but overall this place has great food … And really great salad dressings… They make them fresh daily!!! Yum!!! Also, if you like spicy ask for the secret hot sauce ;) My favorite dish is the chicken with rice(or pasta). Healthiest dish on the menu. :) Also, check out the weekend happy hour, really great value.

You know when you walked into an amazing bar when: 1. The staff treats you well 2. The owner takes pride in his business and walks to you and makes sure you are having a good time. 3. The bar tenders are super nice and know what you get every time 4. The crowd and people are super friendly and nice 5. The food is awesome 6. The drinks are super awesome 7. There are giant TV’s showing all sports around you, a place you want to go for your game I happened to walk into this bar a few months ago, after i moved to Redondo Beach. Needless to say, I am hooked. I really love this place. The owner Marty is hard working man. I can tell he really loves his business and takes pride in running it. His personal attention to each of his patrons just shows how much he cares about his clientele and his business. Lets talk bar tenders– a tough challenging job which i think most times goes un-noticed. These people are the show runners. And at Ave A, they are just outstanding. Friendly and super nice. Chelly and Mary here is a loud shout to you guys. You guys do a truly amazing job. Both of these women are extremely chill and will remember you by your name and your drink(I call it attention to detail) Thanks Ave A Bar and Grill. I really wish you guys many more years of such excellent service and hope to be your patron for a very long time.

Best Taco Tuesday Dish in my opinion!!! For $ 6.00 you get 3 fish tacos, or beef or chicken of your choice along with rice and beans all for $ 6.00! The Bar waitress is super cool and will speak to you and will remember you and the conversation you last had with her. The owner will personally welcome you and sit you! His an awesome man! They usually have cool events during the week! I highly recommend the dish of your in the area on Tuesday.

Good local bar. I came here with a few friends on a NFL sunday and was nicely greeted by a nice gentleman at the door. He sat us down for a table of 4 and there were TV’s everywhere. Got the TV i wanted changed to the channel i wanted and we were then good to go! There was a tequilla and beer combo for 8 bucks and we all ended up getting those. It was a house tequilla and generic mexican beer. It went down easy. We ordered a bunch of the $ 5 happy hour(2pm to 5pm). The ribs were great, pizza calzone was awesome with tons of meat and cheese, chicken strips meh and chicken dip with chips good. We also ordered a round of the blood marys. The cups were huge and with a slice of bacon too! went down nice but i noticed a big hair in mine… downer… but it was quickly replaced with a new one. Overall: good atmosphere with a friendly staff and a homey kind of feel. Good food but the hair in the bloody mary was a downer.
