Nice little Hennessey’s that’s a good option if you don’t feel like driving to Hermosa/Manhattan beach and dealing with the crowd. There was a SoCo promotion when we were there and my friends and I got free shots, beads, and shirts. woohoo! good times :-)

I mean, c’mon– how does a place mess up a turkey burger? recipe is pretty simple… gather turkey meat in hands, form into a burger and grill. though, it was one of the worst things I’ve eaten in a long time. not to mention the ‘irish nachos’ that came before it… how about melting cheese on paper and serving it? how did that go? ummm… I think I ate some paper. I’m not lying.

Didn’t spend much time at this joint because it was Karaōke night for the supremely rehearsed, and supremely untalented. The outdoor patio would have been much cooler if it weren’t for all the second-hand smoke. Hennessey’s isn’t really the greatest place, but it’s close to the beach and this location beats Hermosa because at least the folks here had at least two brain cells to rub together.

I went walking around my new neighborhood looking for dinner, so sick of Whole Foods salad bar I could scream bloody murder a cow. The sign in front of this little Irish-themed sportsbar presented an interesting idea: NY steak dinner & a beer(beef ‘n brew) for $ 11, the Monday special. I hadn’t had a steak in 20 years. The waitress was adorable, the steak was somewhat chewy & tastless, garlic mashed potatoes were great, as were the steamed veggies. Overall, OK. I had forgotten how much I like A-l Sauce. Decided to skip the beer, fearing carb overload. Hennessey’s has 10 additional locations besides Redondo, scatttered down the coast to San Diego(Seal Beach, Laguna, Dana Point, etc.). As far as me & my server could determine from the logo on her t-shirt, there is one out-of-state location — in Vegas.
