As a first timer I’m sad to hear this place is closing it’s doors for the last time. Great service, great atmosphere, great food. Cheers!

Very friendly people to help you. The abondigues soup was delicious like the one my friend makes. Not packaged frozen meatball but homemade. I bet the fideo is good to going for that next.

Went here with my family. We were sitting in the back corner of the restuarant and when we finished eating and paying $ 70 + tip a HUGE cockroach ran across the table. I literally jumped out of the booth and ran to the hall way. Once we told the waiter he said that’s not really a problem there and exterminators come all the time. Really that means there IS A PROBLEM. When my mom came out of the bathroom she said there was a dead baby roach in there as well. We’ll what should I expect when the place looks old, dirty and dingy. I was having a hard time just looking at the dirty walls. And the Margarita was disgusting as well. The waiter didnt even offer money back but offered us a free drink. Um no thank you I dont want anything else from here. Used to be a family favorite when I was kid and we wanted to come here to check it out again. Food was ok but after seeing that roach I just wanted to barf it all up and so did the rest of us! Why did the health department give them a A? Someone must have got paid off. I may have to report this place. #Gross

My husband and I went there for dinner tonight. We have been there before, about 10 yrs. ago and were not impressed then but decided to try it again thinking it might have improved. Well… We were still dissatisfied. The chips were very thin and were slightly crisp, almost as if they were stale. I ordered the dinner with two chicken tacos. I chose the salad instead of soup. The salad was just a bed of lettuce with ONE black olive on top! Choice of dressing was Italian or Blue Cheese. If you don’t like either one your SOL. Crispy tacos was meh. Same stale like shell with chicken, lettuce & cheese. Not sure if they know what spices or flavorings are used for but there was no flavor here. The dinner included iced tea or soda and a scoop of pineapple sherbet? Pretty bland. The server was not attentive at any time and would just set the food down barely in front of us and the beverages on the outside edge of table as he was dashing by us. Not a personable guy. The menus claims they’ve been in business 40 yrs. not sure why.

We actually stumbled across this place while looking for Casa Playa and walked into the wrong store front. My boyfriend and I were visiting Redondo and unfamiliar with the area. Looking through Unilocal for Mexican some locals pointed us in the direction of Casa Pulido. Upon being seated we realized that the interior really is in disrepair. It seemed dirty, the ceiling tiles needed fixing, and the booth cushions were ripped and/or poorly patched. Dingy would be a good way to describe the interior, but I figured a lot of times those types of restaurants have the best food so we gave it a try. The margaritas were not very strong at all, although the meals were quite large and I felt like a good amount of food for the money. However, our bill came to over $ 60 and I truly did not expect such a high price for a restaurant in the condition of this one.

This place has got to go. After reluctantly agreeing to revisit Casa Pulido, I had dinner there last Sunday. Ugh. First of all, the place is absolutely disgusting. Filthy, dirty blinds, sticky concrete floor(most of the paint has chipped off), sticky tables and grubby silverware. I’m sure the list could go on, but I stopped looking closely for fear of becoming sick to my stomach. Seriously, the most disgusting restaurant I have ever eaten at anywhere in the world. And the food? Meh. My crispy beef taco shell was stale like wood. It had a baked quality that did not work. The chili in my chili relleno was small and mostly seeds. The cheese chips were oily. My Cadillac margarita was sweet like syrup and undrinkable. I left most of everything I ordered uneaten. How this place as survived after so many years is a complete mystery. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the many other Mexican restaurants in the area, including Riviera Mexican Grill, or El Tarasco.

EW!!! I agree with Stacey S. lol If you like hot flavorless soup in every dish, this is the place for you! I LOVE me some Mexican food, but this place completely missed the point of «authentic» I ordered the«Chili Verde Burrito» with rice that tasted like a bucket of pepper was on it. I was gonna say the chips were ok but the salsa was so watery could barely make into my mouth without spilling all over me first. This place is REALLY reaching far into the magical hat of tricks. They need a miracle or a new chef :)

I’m sad to say that we were so disappointed in the food here. In addition — the place is quite dingy and in need of a deep cleaning. I’m all for«retro» and«‘old school» But not dirty! I sent my Margarita back– it basically had no taste. Why bother/got a beer instead. Nachos were not good. The beans and meat made it «soup like» — again — hardly any flavor. I just ate the free chips and salsa with the guacamole from the nachos. Overall — very disappointing — I would not recommend this restaurant and we won’t be going back.

Decent Margaritas but the Chile con Queso sucks. Filthy location. Chips seems like cooked in old oil

I hate leaving a bad review for this place but the food just was not good. Had the chile relleno and it was unrecognizable. I’m still not sure what they did to it. The chips and salsa were great, though its hard to mess that up. Also the place needs a makeover baaaaad. The carpet is falling apart and it just kinda smells bad in there. Employees were sweet though.

I have been coming here for 26 years and I have NEVER had a bad meal here. I’ve also tried every single Mexican food restaurant in the South Bay and this place is the best you will ever have. Where to begin? The best chips and salsa you will ever have. Ever. I have come here before just for a margarita and chips. And they are generous and refill you constantly. The salsa is different each day in terms of spice(because it’s like, fresh) but the staple ingredients(onions, tomatoes + what I have struggled for years to identify as Anaheim chiles) are to die for. If you’re feeling adventurous, get the cheese chips. They are the most simple yet delicious cheesy chips you will ever have. Nothing here is bad, but you can’t eat here without getting a cheese enchilada. Order it as a side if you have to. Trust me here. The No. 6 is my go-to: taco, enchilada, rice + beans. Last week I had a chile relleno — highly recommended. For meat, you can’t go wrong with any meat they offer. I personally love their ground beef — it’s never greasy and has an amazing flavor. My boyfriend swears by their carne asada. Burritos, tostadas, ceviche — it’s alllll good. I haven’t even mentioned service yet, which makes the place the kinda restaurant you feel at home. You don’t come to the same place for 20+ years if the service isn’t out of this world. It’s a true mom and pop(and daughter) place. You will see Mr. & Mrs. Pulido often in the restaurant, and their daughter Lisa is always there too. They take great care in choosing attentive and kind waiters and bus staff. They are quick, kind, and always willing to go the extra Pulido mile for you. Casa Pulido is the place you wish you could have every day.

I thought I had reviewed this place before but apparently not. I first came with a work friend of mine in the late seventies when it was across the street and carried your own beer in which the waitress promptly poured into a big plastic Coke or Pepsi cup. When they moved here in «79 I still came here sans the beer due to the fact they now had a bar. I have always loved their Chili Rellenos and ground or shredded taco and enchiladas and this time was no different and were I usually have a Mexican beer with my meal I opted for a Perfect Margarita, delicious! OK, the reason for the 4 star was that it does smell a little musty upon entry and the restrooms are in dire need of upgrade. That said I shall return soon, maybe the Carne Asada next time.

MOLD!!! The smell when you walk in is CLEARLY mold. I get its been in Redondo for many years, but CARPET in a restaurant thats been in business for that many years is GROSS. It doesn’t add anything to a great atmosphere for me, anyone who thinks so hasn’t been out of Redondo. Im new here, so I get why locals come here and«rave» about it because when you grow up eating something not that great, some how it becomes great. Im laughing while writing this because I don’t understand how the health department hasn’t shut this place down. My tostada was nothing like I’ve ever had before. Calling yourself a mexican restaurant and serving me what they did boggles my mind. So I came here with a group of people, first time ever. We all were looking around like«oh dear lord what are we up for» Our food came out(green face) it looked so terrible we all kind of laughed a little, made jokes and then for some reason decided to try the«food» served to us. I ordered a tostada… how in the world you mess up on that, I don’t know but they did. When it first came out it looked like a salad. A huge plate with lettuce covering the whole thing. I’m used to a shell, beans, ice burg lettuce and cheese. this was romaine lettuce, a shell DOUSED in beans(I had to scrape my finger around in my food until I found it, to pick it up.) most of everything fell of the shell, that was now soggy. The beans were so terrible, watered down, bland, GROSS. I couldn’t even eat another bite. I had immediate stomach issues after I left and I’m Latina, I can handle Mexican food. This is not Mexican food guys. To top it off, it was topped with a big ol’ black olive. what in the world??? My friend ordered enchiladas, which was cheese rolled in a tortilla, topped with cheese. GREASY, tasteless, HORRIBLE. I couldn’t stop laughing, I was in disbelief a place could be this terrible and still have business. STAYAWAYSTAYAWAY

Love this place! Great old school Mexican sit-down with the red vinyl booths and all. Their beans with cheese, chips and salsa and entrees are to die for. Love this part of vintage SoCali culture still alive.

Sorry. I’m a food snob. I love LBJ but wanted a little more atmosphere and to be waited on just didn’t want to spend as much as Ortega 120. But this place bites. I think I’ll head to Taco Bell to get the taste out of my mouth. The carnitas burrito tasted like beef or some odd meat. The Red sauce was floury as was the green sauce. Greasy, gross chips. My friend’s tostada was all lettuce(not good lettuce) and blah. Server and hostess were super sweet so I upped it one star. So much for being cheap. You get what you pay for. The best part of the meal: the 2 year old screaming. Not gonna lie. She was adorable.

I tried a chicken quesadilla from the appetizer menu. It was made with poached pulled chicken breast and two types of cheese. They didn’t skimp on the cheese, but they did skimp on flavor. I quickly remedied this with the DELICIOUS salsa that was provided with chips when I sat down. I also enjoyed a «double margarita,» which was on special for $ 5, and was also great. My visit was around 11:30am on a Friday and there was only one server working. He seemed a little in the weeds, even so I didn’t wait too long for anything I needed. I’ll be back to try something different because of the great salsa and the dive atmosphere. :)

ROACHES!!! This had been my favourite place in the entire south bay since i was a kid. Ive come here every year for birthdays as a tradition. I dont believe i’ll be making it back unfortunately :(. Last visit i had, it was packed to the walls, i was seated at a table, but before i could even sit down, i saw a cockroach. On my booth. Crawling over the seat into the next booth. My partner and i didnt even sit. We turned and fled. I was so excited for that enchilada and margarita :(. I went outside to all and let an employee know about it, but they seemed to put on a faux surprised tone, and said they would let the manager know. Thats it? Since my experience, i have shared my story, and have discovered a long history of a roach problem. Grade A? Yeah right.

Came to check out the Summer Festival. Got a bit hungry so I ducked in to see if my favorite waitress was working. And yes, Nancy was working! Had a couple of drinks and some appetizer! Nancy was her usual awesome self checking to see if I need chips or water! Kudos! We need more people like Nancy!
