Very disappointed. I was all set for a wonderful pulled pork sandwich. My expectation was that it would be like most other pulled pork sandwiches I have had — pork simmered in BBQ sauce. Instead it was plain pulled pork with some BBQ sauce poured on top. Absolutely no flavor in the sandwich except the taste of the sauce. No smokiness, no nothing. I could do just as well here at home. Not sure I will be back if all the sandwiches are prepared like this.

Dickeys is the closest thing to Texas BBQ in California! This location is especially great — amazing briscuit, and the staff is so friendly. We come here as much as we can– it’s absolutely delicious!!! Again– amazing as always– we had the ribs for the first time, delish!

Ordered two family platters for a staff meeting and everything was amazing! I was a little worried because I called before they officially opened at 11am to place my order and asked if I could pick up before noon. They made it happen and all the food was a hit! Really good pulled pork and BBQ sauce. We got BBQ beans, Caesar salad, baked potato casserole, mac & cheese, and potato salad. I couldn’t believe everything was gone. Special shout out to Abby for getting my huge order in and ready for me with such short notice!

Best BBQ this side of El Paso… I had a slab of pork ribs and they were delicious. They offer free ice cream but I’m so full not sure I can handle it… If you like Texas BBQ then this is the place… The little cute counter girl Abby was so nice… Most likely come back just because of her…

I am here at DICKEYSBBQINREDONDOBCH,(above the Pitcher House) eating the«Thursday special». The specials aren’t on the menu you have to ask for it. So whatever day it is– ask for that days special. Example: Today’s special is the«Thursday Special»(2-meats) — pulled pork and cheese and jalapeño stuffed smoked sausage. My two sides are onion rings, Caesar salad. They have 10 different sides to choose from. You get this huge large 32-ounce beverage. observe my receipt $ 10.89 for all of this. There’s 3– hot barbecue sauces to choose from: spicy, sweet and original. That’s not all –they have free soft serve when you’re done –see the kids they made it big. And if you Unilocal them they’ll give you a free piece of pie. I know call me a glutton but I love burnt meat. It’s really good. And too top it off they’re playing Elvis. Hope you’ll check it out if not you’re missing out. The two guys I met down here Ryan and James.

This little bbq spot was tasty. Went In with a large group of friends and got to see some of the other options available. Mashed potatoes were a favorite. Ribs and chicken were a big hit. Onion straws were pretty good too. Mac and cheese was bad. Taste like canned nacho cheese. Potato salad was awful. Employees were pleasant to us. Even came over to the table to let us know about the free self serve ice cream they offer that was delicious. We all loved it ! Over all had a great experience. Casual dinning, fun time. Being a smoke house, you smell the smoke. Could use some more ventilation inside because we all smelled it on the car ride home.

We saw a billboard with a delicious plate of BBQ on our way to the beach and couldn’t help but stop. The fact that we decided to ditch crab legs and try out this place was BIG. So this BBQ place had a lot to live up to. I fell in love with their Ribs plate! It was so tender it fell right off the bone. At first glance I thought it looked too dry but I was far from wrong. The crispy edges around the rib were heavenly and it went down with some refreshing coke. If this isn’t enough to try it out, then you at least have to stop by for their free ice cream. I will definitely be back for more delicious ribs.

Came here yesterday with my boyfriend’s fam and it’s pretty good! Super tiny place. The beef brisket was really good and so was the pork ribs. Their beans were good, but the Mac n Cheese was meh to me.(I guess it should be noted that my favorite Mac n Cheese is Kraft Mac n Cheese from the box…). The onion strings were supes salty. I already eat things super salty, so if it’s salty to me, that means it REALLY salty. Still liked it, though, but couldn’t eat too much of it. The employees that came by to check up on us were really friendly. Good service, for sure. Bathroom was questionable, lol. Like one of those bathrooms that don’t really make you feel like you’re in a clean area, but not visibly dirty. There weren’t any toilet seat covers in the stall I went into and the doors open against each other. Try not to smack the other person if you both leave the stalls at the same time. One suggestion: trash cans inside the stalls in the women’s bathroom would be nice, if you know what I mean.

We stopped by to try this through a Groupon. From what I can see, their business is doing pretty without this Groupon, since I noticed no one else was using the Groupon. The patrons are mostly locals and families. This was pretty good for my first time but it doesn’t compare to Phil’s BBQ in San Diego. Here’s what we got for our first 2 Meat Plate: 1) Texas Style Chopped Brisket — I enjoyed this option as there was flavor throughout the meat and it was tender. 2) Southern Pulled Pork — It was pretty flavorless. I would not get this again. :( 3) Barbecue Beans — This was very tasty! Usually I don’t like sweet things to be hot in temperature but I enjoyed this side option! 4) Mac & Cheese — Also a great option. I couldn’t get enough of this one! For our second 2 Meat Plate: 1) Fall Off the Bone Pork Ribs — Not too fall off the bone if you compare to Phil’s BBQ but the flavor in this was very good and it also had a smoky flavor to it. I would definitely get this again. 2) Barbecue Honey Ham — I liked this but it wasn’t anything special enough to get again. 3) Creamed Spinach — Very yummy and not too overpowering in spinach-y flavor 4) Creamy Coleslaw — It was okay, but nothing to brag about. This was a great experience and we loved the casual atmosphere here. The workers seemed to get along or know a lot of the customers that came by. With the variety we got, I know how to order better next time. I loved the sides and will definitely get more ribs, and try the Baked Potato Casserole on my next visit. Also, each meat plate came with a buttery roll, which was great topped with honey or any of the other sides. The free ice cream at the end was the highlight! The ice cream was airy but firm/didn’t melt easily. It’s a texture all ice creams should try to strive for. :D

We thought our days of enjoying Dickey’s BBQ were over once we left the east coast but alas there was one right in our neighborhood! Came here after I used our Dickey’s yellow cup to refill our water filter pitcher and reminisced. Jeff was gonna pick up takeout til we saw kids eat free Sunday’s. Done. We came in at 5:15 pm(toddler dinner time) and lots of seating available both inside and out. Placed our order(big BBQ brisket sandwich for me, add coleslaw topper for 50 cents, kids plate of ribs with side of Mac and cheese and kids yellow cup of water for Jia, and a two meat plate for husband with a yellow cup refill) and it was ready by the time we filled our cups. Total is $ 22. Free cones for all of us and Jia was in fat city having her first real goodie all to herself. Happy kiddo after this meal. We would’ve been happier if they hadn’t charged us for her meal(kids meals are free all day Sunday every Sunday, how did they miss this??) We will be back every Sunday, the staff here is amazing and remember us every time(even our order). Angela who cuts the meat is so sweet, quick, efficient, and everyone else there is great too! Spicy cheddar jalapeño sausage, honey ham, fried okra and coleslaw on our 2 meat plate is our regular order, never goes wrong! Comes with a soft buttered roll, pickles and onions, and we refill our yellow cups(all 3 of us) each time! BBQ is delicious and solidly made. Reliably good. This is our spot and we love it!

I found Dickey’s because our friends always served it at their sons’ birthday parties and I was always drooling over their catered food! So we had to go to the source. We have been there twice, this most recent time was thanks to a Groupon deal. They have a daily awesome Deal of the Day — today’s was the 3-rib combo meal. 3 ribs, 2 sides, a biscuit and a drink all for like $ 9.99. Really great deal and so much food! The ribs were pork and the meat falls off the bone! The sauce is finger licking good and not too sweet. Love it! My son went for the large BBQ sandwich and chose pulled pork. His meat was so tender and fell apart easily to eat but at the same time, held together that he didn’t lose too much of his sandwich onto his tray. He didn’t go for any sides since my daughter let him have 1 of hers — they both chose criss-cut fries. My sides were the green beans and bacon — the beans are SO wide! I also had the skinny onion rings(called something else) but last time I had the baked potato casserole and it’s SO good too! Our Three-Thumb Review is 3 sticky thumbs up! My son loves the reusable yellow cup — since his high school is just a short walk away so during his sports season, they go there after school for drinks and lunch. My daughter loves the free soft-serve ice cream that comes with every meal. I like too that the ribs are not over-sauced so I don’t walk out of there wearing a ton of sauce on my face and clothes. We can’t wait to go back and take friends and family! #ThreeThumbReviews

4.5 if I could for that free ice cream! Came with a groupon for $ 20 worth of food on Saturday morning around 11:30. We got a rib plate and the 2 meat plate(brisket and pulled pork). The ribs were so good! They were falling off the bone so tender and plenty of flavor. My sides were the okra and loaded potatoes. The okra itself is nicely battered(not too thick and oily sprinkled with salt on top), and the loaded potatoes was good. I wish the potato was hotter though so the cheese on top would melt a little. We also had the brisket and pulled pork. Both were a little dry(good thing they have self serve bbq sauce) and could use some salt. The green beans are supposed to be a favorite, but it was watery with very little bacon. The mac and cheese was nice and creamy. I would come back again for the ribs and ice cream! The staff is very nice and tables were clean!

The Western US sales region of my company decided to treat our facility to lunch today(12÷18÷15) and Dickey’s BBQ Pit was chosen to feed us all. Usually a couple times during the year«they» will treat us to lunch. Over the years, different restaurants or caterers have been used to do the job, including: Ranch Hands BBQ, Famous Dave’s BBQ, Lucille’s BBQ and Naples Rib Company. This is the first time for Dickey’s. The menu? Pork ribs(tender and great smokey flavor), beef brisket(tender, decent flavor but not as good as others), chicken breast(BEST smoked /bbq’d chicken we’ve had!), mashed potatoes(tasty), BBQ beans(tasty and nice spicy kick), mac-n-cheese(made with cheeze whiz or something — Meh!) and rolls(tasty). It’s not always easy feeding 200+ people in 45 minutes, but the Dickey’s crew did a great job of getting set up and making it all happen!

One of my fav cheat meal places. No regrets — the pork & tangled tater is the go to. Second time getting this. Check in. Write review. Get free apple or pecan pie Update: 2÷4÷2016 — Brisket Sandwich does not disappoint. It is so satisfying for that BBQ craving. Roll was soft — kinda tasted like a King’s Hawaiian sweet roll. Happy Tummy :)
