Yummy! Custard is nice and creamy and not too sweet. The ice is good too. The person who helped us was nice and helped is decide on what was good. He gave us lots of samples to help us decide. He also let us know they have a discount on Tuesdays. We will definitely be stopping by again.

Kaitlin was very sweet! She made my first time at Rita’s a good one. The overall visit was good– I ordered a blendini and it was a cute little shop.

Was missing some of the finer foods of the northeast coast, when I suddenly remembered that Rita’s doesn’t close for the season in SoCal! I’ll be back again very soon

This was my first time trying Rita’s since I live in Pasadena and we don’t have any stores close to us. I came in right when it opened and was pleasantly surprised to see a clean and neat store, even the restroom was very tidy! The salesgirl was very nice and let me try more than one sample, I settled on a regular sized half cherry/half mango combo with vanilla custard gelati. What’s ridiculous is the size difference between a regular and large portion which is why I’m knocking off one star. How can something that is «regular sized» cost $ 4.00 and a «large» which is almost double the size of a regular be only $ 4.50? Any sane person would get the large size when you are doubling your portion for only 50 cents more. Don’t care for the McDonalds like supersize tactics, childhood obesity and diabetes is no joke. The cherry flavor has a 7 – 11 slushy like taste and there were rubbery pieces of maraschino cherries, but otherwise it hit the spot.

The customer service being provided here is so awesome. I can’t express the genuine kindness that is shown to every customer at this establishment. I really enjoy the custard but there’s something special about a business that not only has a great product but has extraordinary customer service. Upon entry we were greeted with a wave and a smile. Then we were asked to rate our day, I honestly can attest that no place, nor even Nordstrom has ever shown genuine interest in my day. I love the custard, I love the service and YES we will be back even on a winter’s day!!!

This location is a waste of time I’ve been to this Rita’s multiple times and I regret it the treats are YUMMY but the workers are the worst they gave me dirty looks and dreaded waiting on me although it wasn’t crowded just another 2 people plus my boyfriend and I as a new customer and excited and the employee completely ruined it for me she rushed me and wouldn’t answer questions I had I went again hoping to have a better time and I received the wrong change she took 6 of my dollars and didn’t give me a receipt and along with again hostile girl employees please don’t goto this Rita’s infuriates me that I had such awful experience and wasted my money :(

Mint chip ice is heavenly, but when I’m feeling fruity mango and cherry together are a great combo. The gelati comes with ice and a custard on top which pretty much tastes like soft serve ice cream but is a little thicker. I love this place and would recommend anyone to stop here over the other ice cream shops in town.

I finally got to try Rita’s. I really liked it. The custard was good. I recently was told that due to some egg shortage or something, that they wouldn’t be serving their custard. I hope this egg thing gets taken care of immediately.

First off, Unilocal said they were closed, which was not correct. So you may want to call to make sure. This frozen concoction peddler sells Italian ice, which a very sweet non dairy«sherbet like» substance onto which a very rich soft serve custard is dispensed. It’s all good, I had a mango Italian ice and vanilla custard at the servers recommendation, and it was good. Very sugary mango, could have been HFCS, I could not tell. I could see how folks love this, but it would have been better if they used actual fruit to make all the ices, they do with only the banana flavored ice. On a hot summer day, which this was not, I’d do it again.

So glad Rita’s is on the west coast! I’m from Philly so Rita’s is nothing new to me. They are all over the place a little of the«novelty» has worn off; I love it but I’m not seeking it out on vacation. My husband and I had dinner at Ocho Mexican Grill next door. Obviously I had to wander into Rita’s to check out the flavors. They had me at pumpkin. Whoever thought I’d be having pumpkin ice on the west coast? Well, it was the perfect after dinner treat. It was the same great Rita’s quality I’ve grown to love back home. Enjoy yourselves, California. You have a great new dessert spot.

Kaitlyn did NOT want to serve; Upon arrival, as newcomers, my family and I were curious on what to order, or what available options there were. As she chanted slowly on the obvious options, failed to address what were on them. The shop was empty of waiting customers, yet Kaitlyn, absolutely neglected to serve my family, and as we asked questions curiously, she continued to roll her eyes and give an absolute rude and monotone attitude. Because of her, I’m discouraged to go back. I bet this place is good due to reviews. But Kaitlyn needs to go.

Tuesday special is any order under $ 5 is only $ 2… Ingredient update .due to an egg shortage they are using soft serve ice cream in the place is custard… sorry but taste of gelati mix is not the same with Italian ice and soft serve ice cream versus custard… not a fan of this new mix of flavors.

Good Italian ice and frozen custard/yogurt. Unfortunately when I went, they switched to frozen yogurt due to an egg shortage, but it was still good. Service is really good here. They let try all the flavors. If you’re looking for something different for dessert other than ice cream, this is a good alternative.

Oh my. This dessert spot is ridiculously awesome!!! I also love how everything is made fresh daily. :) So I sampled a couple of flavors, Mango and Mango peach. I personally loved the Mango ice! I had a Mango Gelati(Mango Ice with Vanilla Frozen Custard)… Man. Such a good combination. I swear I thought I tasted tiny bits of mangos in the ice, but I could be wrong! Haha. The employee said that it was their most popular flavor. I could see why! My boyfriend got the Strawberry Banana Gelati. That was amazing as well. Tasted real banana and strawberry chunks. Omgahhhhh… You MUST try this spot! **Also, there’s a $ 5 minimum on credit/debit card purchases so maybe spot a friend or bring extra cash! :) I’m soooo glad I don’t have to drive all the way to Anaheim(Joe’s Italian Ice) to get ice/custard desserts anymore. Woooo! I love the Southbay!

I’m a super big fan of Ritas! From their $ 2 Tuesdays(anything that would normally cost under $ 5 costs $ 2 on Tuesdays) to their yummy flavors(cotton candy, strawberry, dragonberry) and their friendly staff they have me sold! They also sell ice by the quarts and gallons. Gallons will run you $ 22(and a ton of freezer space!) however quarts are more manageable and will run you about $ 6.

Unilocal Challenge 201549⁄365 Ice Ice Baby Custard Custard Baby Mix Mix Mix Custard and and shaved ice, a new concept to me. I ordered a kid sized chocolate mint ice topped with chocolate vanilla swirl custard. I actually enjoyed it. It was a welcome treat to my mouth on a warm Spring night. The ice had a weird texture, but a good mint chip flavor. The little dose of custard on top was just enough for me to get my icecream fix. The hubsters passed on the ice and went straight for the ice cream sundae. He said it was okay. I reminded him, its not ice cream its custard. We both agreed service was great. Super friendly by providing us with lots of samples and the 411 on all the flavors. Bonus star for service. This location also hosts Mazda car meets, which is super cool. Review #553
