I’ve been back a few times and the fill station guys have been very cool. They’re quick to fill and always around to chat.

This place is the best. We tried several surf shops and couldn’t find a wetsuit that worked for my wife. Dive N Surf has several sizes for both men and women and kids for that matter. Got a Bodyglove wetsuit for cheaper than I thought $ 125 can’t beat that. Should of just came straight here I knew it!

Money grubbers. spent a few hundred dollars on spear equipment and the fat dude in the back still charged me for the surf wax! Im a south bay local, going there since after school when i was a kid… not too sure now…

Totally awesome selection. I went in to buy some body board fins and bought the exact fin I have always dreamed of. They have a big selection to choose from. Cool staff and ample parking. I went in the next day looking for fin leashes and the lady at the register literally walked me over to them and stood there to answer all my dumb questions. This place deserves this 5-star rating for sure.

My husband and I were out this morning enjoying a beautiful paddle only to be yelled at by the Island Diver captain as we entered back into Redondo Harbor. This was at 11:30 this morning — so not sure this is representative of all the captains. We immediately moved out of the way as his boat entered and he continued to yell at us” this is not a playground” .“this is for marine boats”…Every day there are a lot of paddle boarders and kayakers also enjoying the harbor and we all do our best to stay out of the way. There is never a need to be yelled at. I’m surprised tand disappointed o see the boat belonged to Dive and Surf in Redondo.

A dive shop is not a dive shop! I started my PADI scuba certification with another shop(trying to score a deal through Groupon, whoops). Unfortunately for me, I failed to complete the open water portions with them– due to a few reasons I’ll detail below. My luck turned though as soon as I signed up with Dive N Surf to get things finished. I’m so glad I did. My experience with the other shop during the open water dives was very unpleasant. I’m not one to quit things that I start, and after quitting on my first beach dive I was really frustrated and didn’t think diving was for me. After trying again with Dive N Surf, I realized the 1) the shop and 2) instructor you go with make ALLOFTHEDIFFERENCE! 1) The equipment I rented from Dive N Surf was FAR superior to what was provided to me from the other shop. The wetsuit was great quality, fit me perfect, and I was not cold at all in the So Cal water(I was freezing during my first try). Another difference through the other shop was the stone age weight belt I had to wear; it literally dug into my hips to the point of bruising. This shop did not have me wear this belt during the pool session and I was surprised when they made me wear it for the open water. Not with Dive N Surf though! They have the weights integrated into the BCD vest for both pool and open water sessions. The two shops had comparable prices for the classes and rentals, and the first shop I went to even made you BUY a good amount of gear to continue the dives with them. I didn’t have to commit to any gear purchases with Dive N Surf, although I plan on purchasing from them in the future now. 2) The instructor Dive N Surf set me up with(Vaughn Allen), truly made the experience memorable and enjoyable. You can tell he has a passion for teaching others, not just trying to make money while doing a hobby. The instructors I previously went through were super friendly, but extremely laid back and disorganized. I remember having a hard time getting responses from them, and their paperwork organization left a lot to be desired. Vaughn was extremely responsive via email, text, and phone… all of which were needed to coordinate with my busy schedule. He was on top of getting the dives logged and entering in my certification ASAP. Great culture, great service, and a great experience all around. If you’re considering learning how to dive, go to this shop and ask for Vaughn!

Great place and knowledgable people. I also worked here on the early 80’s so it was great coming back. The crew set me up with a shop brand paddle board and even delivered it to me. I appreciated the layaway and how they worked with me and I will always recommend D n’ S for all your SUP needs!

I consider Dive n’ Surf as my neighborhood surfshop although I don’t live in Redondo. The owners/management are really nice as they really are part of the diving and surfing community in the South Bay. Most of their«family» that work there are very knowledgeable and helpful. Just beware during their annually sale and during the holidays they beef up their staff and they might not know as much. So the veterans that work there have always hooked me up with deals and have never steered me wrong on anything. If you don’t buy anything on sale, yes, it is pretty expensive like any other surf shop here in the South Bay, so tough it out until their annual sale or black Friday sale. Sometimes they text discounts so I suggest getting on their customer loyalty program.

Got an excellent deal on one of their house brand surfboards today. Marcelo was really helpful and patient with all of my kook level questions and found me the exact kind of board I was looking for. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a new board or some accessories and you don’t want to deal w some of the more corporate/big box surf stores in the area.

I want to give a shout out to Tony and the boat crew for taking good care of my family when we came out for the Xmas holiday to do some lobster diving. We set everything up via phone and e-mail and it went off without a hitch on arrival. It took some time to setup, but we were prepared for that, as a couple people needed gear rentals, and we all needed to sign up for our license and lobster report cards. When it was time to dive(we did a night session) the boat crew was helpful and provided some snackies. This was my first ocean night dive but they did a good job of explaining what to expect and look out for each dive. We did 2 dives, I skipped the 2nd one and was glad I did when I saw how surge-y it was off the break wall and no one came back with lobsters! The pickings weren’t great overall, but that’s to be expected when we come late in the season. We were staying in a hotel nearby so we came back the next morning for some Xmas shopping. They have a great selection of everything from clothes to bathing suits, wet suits, dive gear and surf boards in the back. Some trinket stuff up front. I bought myself a Dive n Surf shirt and a Billabong cardigan thing, plus a shirt for my dad and a stained glass clown fish for my mom. 20%(I think) discount for my military bro. Since I don’t live in the area I’m not sure if I’ll get the chance to make it back :(But I hope my review will help someone. I highly highly recommend their dive operation!

Miss the old shop, it’s character was with fun-filled dive & surf stories. Today when I went to the yard sale it was easy parking, friendly, helpful and curious teenagers working there, and a brand-new feel. The yard sale prices were more like normal retail prices. I purchased a cute oversized top to wear for when I change before/after surfing, a wallet, and a couple bars of sticky bumps wax. Overall: good people and stuff. Dive & Surf has a new charm, and for me it’s fine… I think I’m spoiled and have it great in Orange County with these surf shops; Katlin and Frog House. They give to the water people smiles, real deals and a feeling of community and of course a a small token of appreciation, they GIVE you wax… keep getting STOKED!

I am so baffled as to how bad the customer service is in this store. It’s a beautiful new store, but after my 3rd visit there(and I have purchased a few things here) I have barely being acknowledged, this place just kind of makes me sick. Nobody says hello when you walk in, nobody asks if they can help you and nobody says goodbye. I’ll give someone else my business.

Best place to go if you’re scuba diver. I can’t speak for the«surf» part, because I’m not a surfer, but it looks pretty dang good for that too! Newly remodeled. It really nice. Tons of parking now. They did a great job with the remodel. There are two sections and they are across the street from each other. One is the main store and the other is where you get your scuba tanks filled and rent wetsuits, etc. I wish they had the entire scuba department right next to where you get your tanks filled, etc. It would seem to make more sense. The way it is now, you must walk across the street… and the scuba department is in the very back corner of the store. It couldn’t be any further away. Maybe they have a reason for this, as in a possible impulse buy on your long walk to the scuba dept. They do have a lot of nice stuff in there. That’s for sure! I went to get my lobster report card while I was getting my tanks inspected across the street. The store was pretty much empty. I was told I needed to go to the scuba department to get the card. Long story short, the guy barely started the process, looked at his phone and said he’d be right back. After five minutes, he wasn’t back. I went looking and saw him leaving the store. I asked another employee to help me and she couldn’t have been nicer, friendlier or more helpful. Kudos to her. Didn’t catch her name, but she looks a bit like a taller, healthier version of Britney Spears. I mean that as a compliment. OK, back across the street to get my tanks. In the scuba repair department where you get your tanks filled, you’ll meet Jocko(sp). The man is legendary. He really knows his stuff. He sounds a bit gruff, but he’s a great guy and he always means well. If you are having any problems with your gear, or want to make sure it’s all up to snuff, he’s ‘da man to check it out. He’s given me some invaluable tips on how to care for my gear, etc. If you’re a diver, I hope you get a chance to meet him. They have plenty of hookups to fill your tanks, and you get a great fill. They fill them underwater, so the tanks don’t overheat. The«filling station» is close to the parking lot, so you only have a short walk to your car. A big plus. Also, they have a program where you buy a punch card for 10(I think) tank fills for a very reasonable price. Be sure and ask about it. It’s a killer deal. PS: I hope the guy who was originally helping me eventually found his way back to the scuba department!
