Location is awesome. Food and atmosphere, awesome! Staff is friendly and helpful! Make sure to go with the favorites(like the ribs!). Drinks are also on point! Just don’t drink and drive…

Hudson House is small and kind of hidden. Well, the small grey building doesn’t really stand out or catch your eye when your driving down PCH. Luckily, I heard about it through a friend. I’ve been here a few times now. There is a full bar with lots of drink options. The drinks actually take over more of the menu than the food choices. Which to me is one downer about this place, there are not a lot of food options. My favorite day to come here though is Tuesday’s for taco Tuesday $ 1 tacos. The tacos are small but packed with flavor. Although it’s extremely busy, it’s worth it. They also have my favorite drink here! The spicy watermelon margarita,(I swap the tequila for vodka) delicious! All of the staff has been great and provide good service.

The chef has potential but the marinade and cut of meat is poor. For this reason I give it 3⁄5 stars.

I came here on Tuesday for the very first time. At first, it took a while for us to get any service because it was super packed, and only had two servers, so I can’t exactly blame them. They have a bar, tables w/high chairs, and booth tables. I sat with my gf on the booth, where a candle was lit. Their menus look cool, its like opening a portfolio file from a James Bond movie. I ordered their salmon($ 16), and the 3 diff. tacos they had on their HH(Vegetarian $ 1.5, chicken $ 1, carnitas $ 1). The salmon was super soft and the sauce was really tasty, the only downside is that its really small, at least for the one I got. I mean for $ 16, I thought I would be getting a regular portion, but instead got half. The tacos were not bad for the price though. Overall, I give this place a 4 star because the service could have been better and also the price/portion of the salmon. Again, the taste and quality was amazing! P. S. Hercules DIPA beer was amazing($ 9) draft and I think its 10%. I also tried the hudson house pale ale($ 5), which I wasn’t too fond of because it tasted very diluted.

Nice small pub. Great food, drinks, service. I would definitely go again. The spicy watermelon margarita was so good! Its great to find smaller places to just hang out and have drinks and some snacks. They have regular dinner food as well.

My Manfriend is the sweetest BF I’ve ever had. He always lets me pick whatever I want. He feeds me, tells me I’m pretty AND smart, buys me wine, buys me little presents, but not only that, he actually LOVES me. We were undecided for a good Thursday night dinner spot, So of course I picked this place. I wanted to try some place new. Service could’ve been better but the food and cocktails made up for it. We ordered the spicy watermelon margarita. Amazing! He always likes to order Mezcal to sip on. We ordered the shishito peppers, the fries, the burrata with the squash and the salmon. All so delicious! Loved the ambiance. Will be back for sure!

We went there for our new years eve dinner. We were quick to get greeted due to how early into the night it was. We had our drink and food taken promptly. Once we received our drinks, our server disappeared for the rest of the night. We order spicy shrimp and the marinated steak with fries. When we received our food we didn’t receive place setting so we immediately got someones attention but we waited 10 mins with our food with NO silverware. Mind you they werent that busy. Then we finally got someone else’s attention who brought us some place setting. By then both our food had gotten cold. So yeah. Can’t really rave about a place when the service is horrible and causes the food to be cold. Great décor for a small awkward space.

Great beer selection, mixed drinks, and yummy food! +Love how this place has wide variety of drink selections. Large beer selection, bourbons, scotch, wine, you name it! +Service was great. My girlfriends and I sat on the counter and the bartender Alex took a good care of us. Menu said water is served only upon request but he served us water from the start and made sure it was refilled all the time to keep us from getting too wasted haha +Food was also great too! I ordered the marinated hangar steak served with side of truffle cheese fries. The truffle cheese fries got overwhelming and I couldn’t finish it even though I LOVE fries but i LOVED the marinated hangar steak! The steak was marinated slightly sweet and nicely charred on the outside but kept rare on the inside per my request. My other girlfriends ordered brown sugar pork ribs & chicken and bacon meatball sandwich, which were amazing as well. +Hudson House was also able to accommodate my girlfriend’s request for no cilantro on her ribs, which is nice for i-hate-cilantro-to-death kind of people like my girlfriend. –The downside is the truffle cheese fries like I mentioned. The first bite or two was great but I think the cheese they used for the truffle cheese fries gets overwhelming. Not to mention the fries are drenched in oil so you feel extremely fat and gluttoneous unlike eating regular basket of fries. –Another downside was that my girlfriend’s chicken & bacon meatball sandwich that was recommended by the bartender was spicy. It’s not his fault since he didn’t know my girlfriend can’t handle spicy but we wish the menu specifically stated it so that she could have picked up on it on her own and avoided the dish. Other than that Hudson House was good overall, will come again!

My girlfriend and I stopped in here a few weeks ago after dinner and we had a great time. From the outside, it looks like it would be very big inside. However, it’s actually a small little neighborhood bar but with a very cool and relaxed vibe. The bartender was very friendly and chill, and he even put up with our chattering and loudness the entire evening. They serve food(we just ate fries and were the skinny shoestring kind, which were perfect) and prices seemed reasonable. It’s a great little spot to hang with friends and you can actually talk and hear each other! I would definitely return!

I really wanted to love this place because the food menu looked good and they have an awesome selection of unique beers(unfortunately most of them are bottles instead of draft, but its still a great selection). It was packed but that’s expected b/c it was 7pm on a Saturday. Loved the exposed brick, wood, and lighting of the bar and dining space. The bartenders and servers were also super friendly. For my first beer, I ordered the HITACHINONESTWHITEALE, which is one of my faves. Had to get a bottle b/c they didn’t have this one on draft. For beer number 2 I really wanted to try the Coedo Shiro Hefe but they didn’t have any left: O( For food we tried a bunch of dishes: TOASTEDPRETZELBITES&BEERCHEESE: Skip these. They were nothing special at all. The pretzels bites tasted like day old pretzel rolls cut in small pieces to dip in a cheese sauce. If you want bad ass pretzel bites you have to go to Culinary Drop-out in Vegas — those are what I hoped for but was very disappointed. SHAVEDBRUSSELSPROUTSSALAD: My favorite dish. Loved the ingredients because they complimented each other nicely — Brussel sprouts with pomegranate seeds, quinoa, grapes, and a tasty walnut vinaigrette. Everyone at the table loved this salad. KALEGRITFRITTERS: they are fried fritters so whats not to like. The perfect finger food to eat with beer and I loved dipping each piece into the sweet pickle tartar sauce. SWEETCORNCAKE: I looked forward to trying this dish b/c the components sounded like they would pair well together but I didn’t fall in love. It felt like it was missing something that could have tied it all together. It was underseasoned — could have used a pinch of salt and some toasted pepitas would have added a little crunch. MAC N’ GOATCHEESE: I took a bite of someone’s mac n’ cheese. It was OK but didn’t knock my socks off like some gastropub/breweries(Deschutes brewery in Bend Oregon comes to mind when I think of amazing mac n’ cheese). PUMPKINCHEESECAKE: A wonderful dessert. Not overly sweet with a delicate airy texture. I would order their cheesecake again if I went back. Overall, a good place to grab a beer and some snacks but I would go somewhere else for dinner. Not a great place to talk with friends either b/c it was loud in there.

Having eaten at Hudson House many times, I’m surprised I’m going to leave it 3 stars. But after last nights dinner, that’s what it deserves. Everything we had was way over salted. The mixed French fries(plain and sweet potato) were over salted to such a degree, that we left most uneaten. We tried to order the Hots Chicken – it’s no longer on the menu. We switched to the Hanger steak having had that before. Although cooked perfectly, it too was over salted. The truffle fries were soggy and surprise surprise, over salted. Finally, we decided to cut our dinner short, paid and left – underwhelmed. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen, but I’m not sure if we will return.

Went here recently. For those who have never been its a small bar/restaurant I suppose gastropub is the fitting term. Huge beer selection. There were like 12 – 15 IPAs alone, and tons of other types too. Although, the IPA gave me a headache; probably pilot error there I shoulda drank more water. Had a gin drink called the Provence or something like that. It was good, though nothing amazing; thinking back it had jasmine liquor, bitters, and lemon. My date had a Gin & Juice which was also good, but nothing amazing. For food, had the lamb skewers. Very awesome. Not dry at all, which is often a problem with lamb. Also had the corn cakes which was pretty good; it was pretty mild flavor but that’s probably because its good ingredients i.e. not overloaded with sugar. I suppose that says something about the food quality(i.e. they take health into concern). So overall, I like this place. Nothing cynical to say about it. Straightforward review. Feels weird.

Came here to eat and have drinks after a run at Redondo Beach! There was a bit of a wait to get a table but we started at the community bar area and enjoyed drinks. The food came out one dish after another and the service was fairly fast! Food: — Pretzel Burger with fries was delicious! Since the bun is pretzel bread it’s tougher than the usual buns of a burger. The pretzel bread was also very filling. On the bright side, sine the bun is more firm it helped keep the burger in tact. — Milk Roasted Cauliflower– My favorite dish of the evening! Made to perfection — Chili Lime Fried Shrimp– Decent. Nothing special so could have done without. Drink: — Gin & Juice was refreshing and good with a touch of the lavender leaf. — Spicy Watermelon Margarita was excellent! Must try!

First time at Hudson House? I recommend coming here on a Tuesday late afternoon because it’s Taco Tuesday AND happy hour!(Taco Tuesday deal all day & happy hour is Monday thru Friday until 7pm). Come here before 6pm to beat the crowd. Taco Tuesday deal: $ 1 street tacos! Choice of chicken or carnitas. Get the carnitas tacos! Perfect marinade and sauce on top! Fair warning though, portion size for one is small since it’s a street taco. Shoestring fries & sweet potato fries: Both perfectly crisped and seasoned well with their salt. Comes with ketchup and garlic aioli. Mac & goat cheese: If you don’t mind the taste of goat cheese, get this! Very creamy and rich mac and cheese with goat cheese, lemon, peas and mushrooms. YUMMM. Service: Ehhhh… it’s okay. You kinda just have to get the servers’ attention so they can attend to you. Cheap drinks, local beer, delicious food, good vibes. 4 stars.

When I come here I only want to order one thing: ribs! They are so so good. Never been disappointed with that one, except that one day they were sold out! If you are a first timer don’t forget to write your name on the chalkboard. It’s located to your left, right when you walk in. Place can be super crowded during peak hours. My recommendation is, if you like things busy and divers definitely check them out. If you’re more into conversing during dinner, try them out early on Saturday or Sunday. I promise those ribs are worth it!

I had been here a few times prior to this visit and it has been pretty good. They have a nice cocktail menu, unique drinks and a great beer selection. Their service is usually on point but this particular visit, we had pretty shoddy service. I was the only girl out of the four in our group – which, says a lot because women are usually pickier and take their time ordering. I was there with three guys, after work and guys are pretty basic in that they just want to drink and be fed when they’re hungry, especially after a long work day. I knew I was only going to order a couple of tacos and a HH Margarita. We weren’t a big group and lucky enough to grab a small table in the corner. Oh yes, going back to my review… I had been here a few times prior to this visit and it has been pretty good. Maybe Tuesday was off because of Cinco de Mayo, Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour but although our server was trying to be nice and cheerful, but she was clearly overwhelmed. We had terrible service, our food order kept coming out wrong and we waited a long time for/between drinks. I joined my buddies after work so they had already ordered food and had drinks. My buddies were ordering dollar tacos and drinks off of the HH menu. Great deals by the way(nothing that I can recall was over $ 5.00 on the HH menu). The drink orders came out fine but there was a very long wait time for a server to come and check on us between eating all the tacos and we ran dry and needed our thirsts quenched. I ordered two carnitas(pork) tacos and a mango margarita. They brought me papas(which are potatoes) and when I notified them of the mistake, one server brought me two carnitas, our designated server brought me two carnitas and then a different server dropped off another five of the papas. So we ended up with all these tacos on our table. When we were finally able to get a servers attention, we had them take back the incorrect ones and sure enough, they showed up on our bill at the end of the evening.
This experience isn’t going to keep me from coming back because I generally have a good time when I come here. I really enjoy their food and drinks. The(HH and TT) value is great! Their food is tasty. The atmosphere is casual and has a good vibe. It can get crowded and loud that you have to yell to who you are talking to which may result in a hoarse voice by the end of the night but that’s what you do at cool bars. There is parking all along Pacific Coast Highway and in the surrounding neighborhood. Just make sure you read the signs for appropriate parking hours.

I can see how this is a pretty good spot«for the South Bay» but I wouldn’t go out of my way to hang out(or eat) here. We were in the area so it was an okay option for the evening, but I’ll probably try something else next time. PROS: — Accessible area with lots of street parking all around — Large beer selection(although only 4 are on tap), including Timmerman’s and Lindemann’s which I love — Less«divey» than most of the bars in the South Bay, Hudson House is one of the few gastropubs in the area CONS: — Loud and crowded. We sat at a large high table but had people hovering around us all night and had to share the table(we knew that it was going to be communal when we sat there) — Service could be better. I got the wrong beer at first and it took a while before our server was back to correct it(which she did, very apologetically). Then it took a while before our food came out once we ordered. The food also came out in a weird order… the edamame/shisito peppers came last, after the rockfish and the chicken. — Pretty expensive for what you get. We spent over $ 100 on a total of 3 beers and 3 food items. These are dinner prices in a pub setting. — The chicken meatball sandwich isn’t on the menu anymore. FOOD: — Everything sounded good, and even LOOKED good, but nothing really tasted that good. It wasn’t BAD, it just wasn’t that great. It was pretty okay. The best dish was probably the rockfish with grits. There wasn’t anything special about it, but it was good. The hot louisiana chicken looked amazing and while I really love spicy, it wasn’t exactly the right kind of spicy. It was spicy in a way that took away from the flavor of the dish. The edamame/shishito dish was really disappointing. Not only did it come out last, but it was drenched in some sauce that was completely unnecessary, turning an otherwise healthy dish into a really unhealthy dish. There was a grand total of five shishito peppers in a pool of edadame. If I ever do come back, it’ll just be to grab a beer.

I love coming here for happy hour! It’s a great place in Redondo Beach and it tends to get pretty packed quickly. Parking here is not great just because they only offer it on the street. I recommend you park in either the Petco or Whole Foods plaza. I always do that and I’ve never gotten in trouble. They have local beers here which I adore! Prices are pretty consistent and the menu is thorough. I love the fact that they write where the beer is brewed and how much percentage of alcohol is in the drink as well. I’ve had the spicy watermelon margarita too, which I would give about 3 stars. It comes in a cute mason jar; however, it has a weird spicy aftertaste that just lingers in your mouth. I admit, the drink is pretty strong, but the sweetness of the watermelon balances the cocktail quite nicely that you can’t really taste the tequila. My boyfriend got the smoky bourbon, which we were both not a fan of. It is REALLY smoky and pretty strong too. It comes garnished with an orange peel but that did nothing to do the drink quite frankly. Food wise — I am a huge fan of their french fries 5⁄5. I love both their sweet potatoes and regular fries. These fries are a more on the thinner side but that gives it that extra crunch which I can’t get enough of. The fries are accompanied with ketchup and a garlic aioli. Their garlic aioli is absolutely addicting. Keep bringing me more! Pretzel Burger — 4⁄5 They load this burger with bacon! Their bacon here is really good and kinda has a mapley taste to it. It’s really crunchy and cut into small pieces. i think this is a good burger to share amongst your friends and the great thing is they offer it during happy hour too! What a steal. I also love the pretzel bun they use for this burger, which gives it kind of a rustic feel. The bun is a lot sturdier and has a more sweet taste in comparison to a normal burger. Mussels — 3⁄5 Good quality seafood but the broth was a little too watery. It comes with crunchy bread but meh it’s not something I would ever order again. Kale Salad — 4⁄5 The dressing on this salad is so refreshing! It’s a nice way to add some freshness to your meal. I tend to order this salad only because I am obsessed with the dressing. The salad comes with some dried fruits as well so it has that nice sweet and savory balance to it. Also, the kale has a wonderfully chewy texture. See, I am just obsessed with texture lmao. Also, Tuesdays they offer TACOTUESDAY! It is a huge hit!
